'Nux, you said you won't interfere!
Rune chuckled out loud as she saw her shadow acting like that.
"What? I am just supporting my lovely wife
I wouldn't have interfered if the one who attacked you were your opponents.
A Primordial doesn't count.
Also, I only like my wives on their knees in one situation-'
Nux replied. Once again, Rune's shadow winked at her, making her laugh out loud.
An extrely beautiful smile appeared on Rune's indifferent face. t was a privilege that only Nux could enjoy, and he was doing exactly that.
'My wife is so beautiful-'
He muttered, making Rune smile even more.
Yes, all this while, Nux was inside the won's shadow. This was also the reason these won were confident even in front of the Primordials. After all, they knew the mont these people did sothing foolish, the one who wins this war would be Tandris.
Rune chuckled again as she then glanced at her opponent. Once again, her face beca indifferent.
Her opponent was now crushed to the ground, unable to move even a little. Rune then glanced at the source of the sudden 'pressure!' It was Kaelgran.
"Have you not humiliated us enough already?"
Kaelgran's cold voice was heard as he looked down at his son. Yes, the man Rune was facing was none other than Kaelgran's son, and seeing his own son display such humiliating actions angered Kaelgran. It was one thing to be defeated in a battle, but to not accept that defeat and constantly challenge the opponent while they showed rcy...
Kaelgran couldn't accept such behavior.
Honestly, he wanted nothing more than to crush this fool using his pressure, but, "Hold yourself back, Kaelgran."
Liora ordered, making the Stoneborn take a step back. The pressure he had released disappeared. His son, however, still didn't move. He had passed out.
And this marked the end of the battle between the nine rcenaries and the nine strongest Velcria warriors.
The result? Valorin's humiliating defent
This battle was being broadcast to all of Velcria's soldiers through Velcrian artifacts. When Velcrian soldiers first learned of this arrangent, they thought it was an entertainnt show their leaders had arranged for them. A show where they would see their comrades crush a few arrogant rcenaries. After all, how were so re rcenaries supposed to go against their strongest warriors? Not to ntion they were currently in Velcria, their ho world, where they are at their strongest. These rcenaries were in for a tough beating.
All the soldiers were excited to see the show, but now...
Silence.
Absolute silence spread all over the place.
Across the barracks, soldiers exchanged uneasy glances. Their pride in Velcria's might was shattered.
The sight of that woman standing amidst the middle of the battlefield haunted their thoughts.
The woman, who had now beco the center of attention, turned around and walked towards her sisters. Her sisters nodded at her, except for the auburn-haired woman, who had hugged her out of nowhere. None of them showed much excitent.
Then suddenly, a black-red-haired woman with black-red horns on her head stood up, staring at their Leaders.
One of their Leaders, Liora, sighed, as if admitting her defeat.
"You were correct, it was an unfair battle."
Even a child could see the difference between the two sides.
"I had no reason to lie to you, Lady Liora. We ca here to complete the mission; lying would not help with that."
Ember replied.
"Can I talk to your soldiers now?"
Ember questioned.
"Yes, the broadcasting is still active. You can continue."
Liora gave her permission. Ember nodded and then started floating in the air. Soon, she...
Soon, Ember Leander was hovering in the air. All the soldiers focused on her, and she then stared at them through the screen.
My na is Ember Leander, Leader of the rcenary Party tasked with ending this long war and ensuring your victory.
I know what you're thinking,
How can re Sovereigns make any difference?
I assure you, we can.
I can.
My Law is unlike anything you have seen. It allows to strengthen those who follow with unwavering loyalty. Pledge yourselves to , and I vow to bring this war to a decisive end-within two days.
I understand that trust cannot be demanded; it must be earned. So I will prove my
worth.
Here is my challenge: your leaders will select 200,000 Protector-level soldiers and divide them into two equal forces of identical strength. One will fight under my command; the other, under a leader of your choice.
When these two supposedly equal forces clash, you will see
The difference my power can make.
The difference my presence alone can make.
with your own eyes.
Yes, this will be a demonstration of my power and what I can do, what your future
Leader can do.
And trust when I say this, what you will see here would be nothing compared to what will happen in the actual War.
Keep in mind, the effect of my Law depends on the number of people who follow .
The higher the number, the greater the effects."
Ember then glanced at the soldiers, and then, she smiled.
"So be prepared, soldiers.
Be prepared to see the might of your future leader and the difference she can make."
Ember's words echoed throughout the place. The soldiers stared at each other with unsure looks on their faces. What they heard was too hard to believe.
How could one person make such a big difference?
Normally, they would have dismissed her as a crazy woman, but right now... after
seeing that monstrous woman's might...
They couldn't.
The silence lingered until Ember's gaze shifted to Liora. The leader of Velcria t her
eyes, her expression conflicted but resolute.
She gave Ember a subtle nod before turning to address her people.
"The Protectors who wish to participate in this challenge, step forward."
She spoke, then, with a solemn look on her face, she added.
"My people, keep this in mind as you decide,
The fate of Veleria is on the line here."
Her solemn words sent a ripple through the crowd. The hesitation among the soldiers
was visible, but soon, one soldier stepped forward. Then another. And another.
And soon, 200,000 Soldiers stood in front of Ember and Liora.
