"Warriors of Zendel,"
Zyreth called out, his eyes intently staring at the incoming asteroids.
"We will fight,"
he declared.
"Have you lost your mind!? How are we supposed to fight tha—"
"Then what do you plan to do? Wait for your death?"
Before the other Transcendent could complete his sentence, Zyreth turned towards him and questioned in a condescending tone.
"Gragor, you were always a coward who hid his true self behind his strength.
But for once, stand up and fight for yourself.
Fight for your pride."
Zyreth spoke in a cold tone. Then, he turned back towards the sky and,
"And if you cannot,
Then let others do it."
He spoke, and as Gragor looked around, he noticed that the rest of the Transcendents had prepared themselves, ready to stop their world's doom against all odds.
Yes, so were hesitant, and almost all of them were afraid, but this didn't stop them from standing up one last ti, desperately fighting for that chance of survival, no matter how impossibly low it was.
Gragor's body shook. Then, the look on his face changed as well.
He made a decision as well.
He would fight.
Just like the other Transcendents, he stood up and distanced himself from Zyreth. Transcendents fought using their Domains. However, two Domains, unless they were of a similar nature, could not coexist in a single place.
Every ti two Transcendents deployed their Domains, they clashed with each other, and the stronger Domain ca out on top.
Right now, however, all of Zendel's Transcendents distanced themselves in a way that their Domains wouldn't clash with each other's.
Yes, they would take on the asteroids separately.
"I didn't think you would try and fight back.
What happened to torturing ?
I was looking forward to it, you know?
Not that I am an M, don't misunderstand, I just wanted to see if you people had so inter-"
Before Nux could complete his words, he froze.
The Concept of Ti around him was dismantled.
The last thing Zyreth wanted right now was an annoying distraction.
After dealing with Nux, the Velythari turned towards the sky again.
The sky itself was split apart. For the first ti in his life, Zyreth was able to see outer space from his own world. It all felt like an illusion, but the Velythari knew it was very real.
Zyreth flew up, his mind racing, coming up with a way to protect or at least... survive. For the first ti in his long life, his power, his law, felt... aningless.
But in the end, he raised his hand.
The air around him trembled. His Domain stretched outward, warping the sky with an
unseen force.
And ti itself tore open.
Thousands of Zyreths of different forms and shapes from thousands of different possibilities appeared beside him.
They all extended their hands towards the sky and,
"Resurgence Eternum."
Ti reversed.
The falling asteroids shuddered, their trajectories distorted.
Reality itself twisted in protest.
The asteroids were actually returning,
Or so it seed.
But...
As if mocking him,
The asteroids pushed forward.
The power of thousands of Zyreths was utterly helpless.
However, they didn't give in. If they couldn't reverse ti,
They would destroy the incoming asteroids instead.
Reality warped again. The air turned into flas, prepared to reduce everything to ashes, but...
The mont the sea of fire t the burning asteroids, rather than reducing them to death, the flas seed to have strengthened them instead.
Another failure.
The flas couldn't burn the giant asteroids. These 'entities' were simply too robust to be burned with little flas.
After the flas, Zyreth tried physical force. He tried to form a Force Barrier to slow down the asteroids' advance, but...
Once again, nothing happened.
It seed like everything Zyreth did was utterly useless.
He was simply wasting his energy reserves.
"Haaahh... Haaahh... Haaahh...."
Yes, Zyreth was exhausted.
One by one, his 'possibilities' were being erased from this reality.
His Law, which allowed him to warp reality itself, was failing.
After all, how could it possibly resist the might of the very Universe?
It was all aningless.
One by one, the asteroids ca down and finally,
The first one landed.
BOOOOOOOOOM
The entire western continent ceased to exist.
There was no aftermath; it was simply gone.
The land, the already smashed buildings, the sky above it-all erased from the fabric of
existence.
Zyreth's body trembled.
In the end, he could only think of one thing.
He rose above. His crystal-like body beca translucent, his core shining much more
brightly than it ever had.
An absurdly large amount of energy was gathered, and suddenly,
BOOOOOOM
An absurdly strong force surrounded the incoming asteroids, trying to crush them
into pieces. and.
Crack
This ti, it worked.
At the very least, sothing happened...
A very small crack, barely visible on its surface, appeared on the asteroid closest to
Zyreth.
The Velythari, who saw that, let out a weak chuckle.
'So that is all the difference my entire life could make, huh...'
He muttered in his head. He stared at his allies, wanting to see if any of them had
managed to do sothing at their end. What he saw, however, made him close his now
tired eyes.
His body continued to beco more and more translucent before it disappeared from
existence.
Yes, the Velythari was no more.
He couldn't see his world fall apart in front of his own eyes, so he decided to leave
first.
It would have been an emotional mont if there was anyone to witness it.
Well, there was.
Nux, who was now unfrozen since the Velythari was gone, saw the sight of hundreds
of absurdly huge asteroids falling from the sky and felt his heart shudder. Although he couldn't see it himself, he could guess what the Velythari's last monts
were like.
"Haaahh..."
He exhaled deeply as he sat on the barren ground.
Then, the next asteroid fell. This ti, another continent disappeared.
Then another,
And another,
Until finally, the next asteroid fell right on top of where Nux stood, and Nux, who saw
that sight, could only think of one thing...
'Holy shit...'
