Amaya questioned again. She had no hopes, but this ti, a grin appeared on Nux's face after he was done absorbing the knowledge he just received.
"I knew devouring it would have given us sothing."
He muttered as he stared at the void in front of him—a void where once Rakthar, a Middle-Level World, stood.
Rakthar was a direct subordinate World of Orynthar. They belonged to the sa Faction, and Rakthar's Progenitors directly took orders from Orynthar's n.
"It was about ti.
This was already the Eighth one."
Amaya muttered, sowhat relieved.
They had already devoured Seven Middle-Level Worlds and sent countless to reincarnation. If they didn't get anything out of it, it would all be a waste and would put a lot of pressure on Nux.
It was the last thing she wanted.
At the sa ti, she glanced at the unit of 27 Transcendents hovering in the air right next to them, all of them loyal to Nux.
Yes, Nux now had 27 Transcendents under him—31 if he added the last 4 Transcendents he devoured a few minutes ago. The four of them hadn't been 'recruited' yet. While Eisheth's Law did make them sowhat loyal to Nux, in truth, her Law was too weak. To ensure their loyalty, Nux needed to alter their minds to so extent.
'We got more than sothing out of this.'
Amaya muttered.
After all, with this many Transcendents under their command, they now had the power to take on any Middle-Level World.
The only real threats to them now were High-Level Worlds and the Supre Worlds.
"What did you find out?"
Aeliana suddenly questioned.
"The Temple of Ti."
"Huh?"
Aeliana frowned.
"You found out about the Temple of Ti?"
The won were taken aback. They didn't think that they would get so lucky.
And they weren't.
"I just heard the na again."
Nux answered.
"A representative sent by Orynthar ntioned it once and ordered Rakthar to find out beings with power over ti."
"What did he ntion?"
"Nothing much. He just told them they needed to clear the Temple of Ti. Rakthar wasn't daring enough to ask any more details, nor did they try to find out. They simply did what they were told, found out about Chronoxis, and reported it to Orynthar."
The won widened their eyes, and Nux nodded.
"Yes, Orynthar ca after the Foxes because of Rakthar."
"We can finally say that we completed Lady Vulpheon's revenge."
Aeliana muttered with a light smile on her face.
While she herself didn't know much about the Fox Progenitor, the woman had helped her father, and she was grateful for that.
Nux smiled at those words and nodded as well.
"So we still do not know anything accurate."
"We do know that Orynthar knew about the Temple of Ti and they wanted to clear it. As for what or where this Temple of Ti is, we do not know."
Nux answered.
"It is still progress."
Felberta muttered.
"We now know that Orynthar belonged to the Faction of the Supre World of Eternity. We know about their close allies and their enemies."
"But all those important players are High-Level Worlds that we cannot attack. I doubt any Middle-Level World will know about the Temple of Ti if even Rakthar, Orynthar's direct subordinate, didn't know about it."
Eisheth muttered.
"There are still a few more subordinate worlds that I learned about. They might know sothing."
Nux spoke up.
"So does this an we are going to continue?"
Aeliana questioned.
"We have no othe-"
Before Nux could complete his words,
'Nux.'
He heard a voice.
'Mother?'
He frowned.
'Are you going to devour another world?'
'I was planning to.'
'Stop.'
Faustina shook her head.
'Huh?'
Nux frowned.
'Is it… the Universe?'
He questioned.
'It is.'
Faustina nodded.
'The Universe has sent Azriel to where you are. He is tasked to get rid of you.'
'Why isn't Lord Azriel telling this directly?'
Nux questioned.
'The Universe is keeping strict eyes on his movents, especially right now, when it wants him to move and get rid of the anomaly. It is much more active and has given Azriel the power to instantly destroy anything he points at.
Such power cos with quite a lot of restrictions on what he could and could not do.
He couldn't talk to either. I had to guess his intentions from his expressions when he was leaving.'
'I'll stop and go away then.'
Nux nodded.
He was wondering when the Universe would lose its patience. It seems that it is finally ti.
Nux glanced at his wives and nodded. They had heard the conversation as well, so they nodded back. However, just as everyone was about to return to their own Universe,
'You cannot leave.'
Faustina spoke up.
'What…?'
Nux frowned.
'You have already devoured Eight Middle-Level Worlds. The Universe is angry.'
'It is always angry. I have never seen it happy. It honestly needs to get a lif-'
'Try living with an uncatchable rat that is constantly stealing your things.'
'…'
Nux turned silent at those words.
'Anyways.'
Faustina shook her head.
'As I was saying, the Universe is angry.'
'And?'
'It wants Azriel to get rid of the anomaly. If Azriel fails and allows the Anomaly to escape…
He might cease to exist.'
'What…?'
Nux's expression changed. He turned toward Aeliana, who seed to have frozen after hearing those words.
'Why would it react so strongly?'
Nux frowned in confusion.
'Lord Azriel isn't even an Emperor yet. How is he supposed to catch the Anomaly? Even if he has the Universe's Absolute Power, his senses will be too weak, and he will be in too much danger in front of an enemy.'
'It doesn't matter. The Universe wants the anomaly gone.'
Faustina answered, and Nux's face turned solemn. Soon, however, his expression changed as he noticed sothing.
His mother…
The woman should be panicking, worrying about Azriel, Aeliana, and her son.
She should be worried sick, and yet…
She sounded calm.
A little too calm.
Almost as if everything was under control.
And just as he thought about it,
'Now listen to .'
Faustina called out.
