"NUX!!!"
Faustina rushed into her son’s arms and hugged him as tightly as she could.
"You are back!"
"Mother."
Nux greeted with a smile on his face as he hugged her back.
He had just returned to the Main Universe and was greeted by Faelara. The woman knew his wives’ condition and waited till he was done spending ti with them, and her cue to all this was Nux returning to the Main Universe.
The mont that happened, she revealed herself without wasting a mont. Clearly, she was missing her son.
"You scared ."
Faustina spoke, her voice slightly weak.
Nux was an important part of her life, not just because he practically saved her and changed her foundation from a partial, incomplete being at her world’s rcy to soone who could exist independently and aim to get stronger, much stronger than before, but also because Nux had given her sothing that she never truly felt before.
A child’s love.
Yes, she was the Human Progenitor, the Mother of All Humans, but…
She never once felt that love before. When her first child was born, she was busy reproducing more. As humans, who were the weakest and had the fastest reproduction, it had beco hers and Caesar’s duty to populate the Union and understand the concept of reproduction.
By the ti other Progenitors joined and tried reproduction themselves, her children had already grown quite a bit and had grown more attached to other Progenitors, who were there for them when their own parents weren’t.
Of course, at that ti, Faustina didn’t understand what she had lost; she had never experienced a child’s love anyway, so it didn’t matter.
Even later, when the Union of Progenitors got more and more stable and their strength grew, giving them more leisure ti, whenever Faustina gave birth to a child, she simply handed them over to other Progenitors to raise since she herself felt lazy.
This continued for thousands and thousands of years until…
Nux appeared.
Yes, Nux was Faustina’s first true son, a son she actually loved like a mother, and when he disappeared for 4492 years (won rounded this ti to 5000, yes, girl math), Faustina lost her mind. She didn’t even dare to return to Nux’s Universe because she feared that she might collapse and beco a burden to her son’s wives, who were already devastated as it was.
Even when the rest of the Progenitors tried to comfort her, it didn’t work. Her racing, uneasy heart only cald when she hugged Nux again.
"You really really really scared …"
Faustina repeated her words, her body trembling in her son’s embrace, a hot stream of tears rolling down her cheeks, tears she had been holding in for a long, long ti now.
Nux felt his heart squeeze when he sensed his mother’s condition. He tightened his hug around her, letting her hold him for as long as she liked, an offer Faustina didn’t refuse.
The wives, who saw this scene, just smiled. Even Amaya, who had finally returned to her senses and agreed to return to the Main Universe and fight alongside her husband, was the sa.
Ti went by, Faustina stayed in this position for hours, until suddenly,
’Faus.’
She heard a voice in her head.
It was Caesar.
’You have been gone for a long ti, have you told him yet?’
Caesar questioned.
’I… have not.’
Faustina answered, a little hesitant.
’Do it. We do not have much ti.’
’Yes, just a little longer…’
Faustina answered as she kept her eyes closed and Nux close to her.
’Faus.’
A few minutes later, Caesar called again.
’He has started aging. If sothing happens to him, that girl will be devastated, and his heart won’t be able to take it. He is back now, you can have him for yourself later, but first, do what needs to be done.’
He spoke, his tone much more solemn than before.
’…’
Faustina was silent.
Soon, however, she glanced at Nux. Nux, who noticed her strange gaze, frowned.
"What is it?"
He questioned directly, knowing his mother wanted to say sothing.
"It’s…"
Faustina waited for a mont as if gathering her thoughts.
"It is about Azriel."
She spoke, and the instant she ntioned those words, Aeliana’s ears perked up. She wanted to et her father for a long ti since she was so devastated. However, after the first few tis, Azriel went into closed-door cultivation because he wanted to form a new, stronger Law, and ever since then, he hadn’t t her.
"Ah, Lord Azriel."
It wasn’t just Aeliana. Nux’s attention instantly shifted when he heard his father-in-law’s na. He still rembered different variations of his father-in-law he saw back in the Temple. It was fun, but it made him miss the real one.
Also, he was curious as to how strong the man had gotten in these 5000 years. With the rate at which he was cultivating, Nux wouldn’t be surprised if he was a Transcendent already.
"How strong is he now?"
Nux questioned directly.
"No wait, first tell what Law did he form. Is it the sa one? Or is it sothing different this ti?"
Yes, Nux was having his fangirling mont.
But…
"He is a Saint and hasn’t ford his Law yet."
Faustina revealed, and, in an instant, Nux’s expression changed.
And as if she was purposefully trying to make things worse,
"And since Saints cannot live for more than 5000 years…
He only has a few decades left."
"WHAT!?"
Aeliana’s eyes widened in horror. She quickly appeared next to Faustina and unconsciously released her Aura. Faustina, who was still just a Primordial because she was solidifying her foundation, was overpowered and was about to collapse, but Nux quickly saved her with a wave of his hand, nullifying Aeliana’s pressure.
"What do you an he only has a few decades left? Why wasn’t I inford of this?"
The Vampire raised her voice, her crimson eyes shining so threateningly that it was suffocating to even watch.
Faustina’s body trembled. Once again, Nux stepped in front of her, but this ti, it didn’t calm her. In the end, Nux waved his hand, and suddenly,
Aeliana was devoured by her own shadow, returning to Nux’s Universe. Nux turned towards Vyriana and,
"Take care of her."
The Dragon nodded and disappeared as well.
Once that was done, Nux turned back to Faustina and,
"Tell what happened."
