Chapter 2064: We can… kill Vexarion?
“This is just the beginning, Sharnoth Nocthys,
When I am done with you, you will fall in love with .”
“Huh…?”
Sharnoth blinked in confusion. At her reaction, Nux just laughed out loud.
“I am just ssing around, don’t take my words seriously.”
“…”
Sharnoth had no clue how to react to those words. Nux knew that, so he started the conversation instead,
“So? Why did you call ? What do you need?”
“This is what I am supposed to ask.”
Sharnoth replied, forgetting what Nux said before.
“You said you need ti in order to be strong enough to deal with the Supre Worlds. What I do not understand is why go so far for ? To think you would declare your intention to face the Supre Worlds for my sake, why? What do you need from ?”
The Queen questioned.
She did not believe in kindness without reason. Every person acts based on their want, and it scared her since she did not know what Nux wanted.
“I am not going against the Supre Worlds for your sake, I am doing it for my own.”
“Huh?”
Sharnoth frowned, and Nux started explaining.
“It is only a matter of ti before the Supre Worlds co after .”
“Why would they?”
“You already know that, do you not?”
Nux questioned back with a light smile on his face, and Sharnoth’s expression changed.
“…you are the anomaly the Universe is after.”
She muttered with a wary look on her face.
“That is correct.”
Nux nodded, admitting it without any intentions to hide anything.
From Sharnoth’s mories, he knew the woman already had her suspicions, yet she still ca to him because she had no other choice.
After all, it wasn’t like she herself could go to them. The Supre Worlds might not be taking any action right now, but it is only a matter of ti before they act against Sharnoth.
“Supre Worlds will be after both of us eventually. They are our common enemy, we have no choice but to ally with each other.”
Nux answered.
“So you need my help.”
Sharnoth comnted.
“You can say that, yes. Your strength will be a valuable addition.”
Nux nodded again.
“You already know what I want.”
Sharnoth muttered.
“I already made a promise.”
The two stayed silent for a mont, staring at each other, as if trying to read the other. Well, it was mostly Sharnoth trying to read Nux. Nux just stayed silent and gave her all the ti she wanted.
“…I will do what you want to.”
Sharnoth spoke up.
“Hmm?”
Nux frowned at those words.
“That was not what I was expecting.”
“Huh?”
Sharnoth frowned.
“Shouldn’t you be doubting ? After all, I am my father’s son. Who is to say I wouldn’t just use you and discard you when I am done?
Or at least… that is what you should be thinking now.”
“…”
The Queen turned silent at those words, not saying anything.
“Ah, you must be clinging to whatever hope you are left with. I did not consider your desperation in my prediction. That was my bad.”
Nux nodded to himself. Sharnoth clenched her fists at those words. Her situation truly was… laughable. It was pitiful.
“It truly is a pity.”
Suddenly, Nux comnted. Sharnoth turned towards him with a frown, and he continued,
“I ca prepared. I had thought of so many things to make you trust and get you on my side, but to think you would co to in desperation, of all scenarios. Truly a pity.
What wasted efforts.”
Nux sighed as he shook his head, and Sharnoth…
“…what are you talking about?”
She questioned directly. She was more confused than ever.
Why does every conversation with this man sound so… vague? Just how is this even possible?
Does he do it purposefully?
Why?
Does he like being annoying or sothing?
Or does he take pleasure in confusing others around him?
What sort of rotten personality was it?
Oblivious to the woman’s thoughts, Nux just shrugged,
“I had co here with a plan, a plan that would benefit you.”
“What plan?”
“Declare War on Aurendor.”
Nux spoke, and in an instant, the air around him changed. His jolly, laid-back face was nowhere to be seen.
“What…?”
Sharnoth frowned.
“I have long since declared War on them.”
She answered.
“War with that half-baked Faction of yours? You do realize what your situation is right now, correct?”
Nux countered.
Then suddenly, he waved his hand, and suddenly, another being Sharnoth recognized appeared next to him.
“You…”
The Queen called out, her eyes glaring at the woman standing next to Nux.
“Lady Sharnoth, it has been a while.”
Maeve bowed her head, changing the way she addressed Sharnoth to ‘Lady Sharnoth’ instead of ‘Your Majesty’.
Sharnoth, however, continued to glare at her, sothing Maeve completely ignored.
“Maeve, tell us about the current situation and what’s the most logical step we can take in this situation.”
Nux ordered, and Maeve nodded.
“The Faction’s power is scattering. Lady Sharnoth is losing control over her people. Her people are scared. Her enemies are using this chance to strengthen themselves. The Council mbers can see how the situation is deteriorating and are panicking.
Lady Sharnoth’s decision to destroy Ravenhelm, Sevenruin, and Zarenal wasn’t correct either. It left too many openings and showed her desperation.
People are nervous, and we need to ease their nervousness. We need to regain control and stabilize our situation before any further damage.”
The Nocthari did what Nux ordered him to.
“And how do we do that?”
Nux questioned.
“Doing what Master suggested is one option. Declaring War on Aurendor would send out a public ssage that the situation is under control and we are prepared for war.
It would reassure not just our people but also confuse our enemies.
If we are fortunate, Vexarion Aurendor might see this as Lady Sharnoth’s desperate, weak action and use this opportunity to actually co forward and face her.
Lady Sharnoth uses the Power of Chaos. If he presents her to the Supre Worlds, he will win their favor. We can use that greed to our advantage and kill him.”
Maeve declared, and in an instant, Sharnoth’s expression changed.
“We can… kill Vexarion?”
