After being erased, Nux opened his eyes, or at least he thought he did, but nothing around him changed.
There was only Darkness around him, Darkness he wasn't familiar with, Darkness that was more overwhelming than even Ul'Thakar's Darkness.
A Darkness with no… aning.
Nux tried to look around, to expand his senses, to understand where he was—
But nothing worked.
Let alone being able to understand where he was—
He couldn't even feel his own self.
He could not feel his body.
He could not feel his heart beating inside his chest.
He could not breathe.
He could not blink.
He could not even tell if he still had eyes.
He was… just there.
Then, slowly, a thought appeared in his mind.
'So this is it?'
He tried to sense his connection again but as he expected—
There was nothing.
His Primordial Laws.
His Universe.
His… wives.
It was… completely empty.
'Is this what it ans… to be erased…?'
He thought to himself.
'Is this where erased beings go?'
More questions appeared in his head.
'What is this place? Or is this not even a place to begin with?'
The more he thought about it, the stranger it beca.
'If I was truly erased, then how am I still thinking?
If I no longer have a Soul then—
Why am I still conscious?
Was this…
The last piece of ?
Or is my mind taking longer to disappear?'
That could definitely be a possibility.
So Nux waited for sothing to happen.
Who knows?
He might et a beautiful goddess who would reincarnate him into a world of beautiful vampires, dragons, cat gir—
'That has already happened to , huh?'
He laughed at his own joke.
'How does this thing work? Do erased Souls get reincarnated too? But then what would be the point of erasing them?'
At this point, Nux knew a lot about the Universe, or even the Multiverse. Reincarnation was common knowledge to him.
What he and almost any being in the Universe did not know about was… erasure.
What happens after one is erased?
People believed they just… disappear.
End of the story.
But here he was—
Still conscious.
Sowhere he didn't know.
'Hmm, maybe this is how it ends.'
Another theory ca to his mind.
'Maybe it wears the mind down first.'
That made more sense.
A place where one could not move, could not feel, see, hear, touch… anything, even the strongest mind would eventually begin to… rot.
First, the concept of colors would fade, then nas would lose aning, emotions would grow dull, the self would blur and then…
The last piece of consciousness would beco numb to… nothingness.
'So that's the plan?'
If he had a mouth, he would have chuckled.
'Make numb?
You are welco to try.'
He thought to himself.
He could exist with the mories of his wives for Eternity.
He would not allow himself to fade away.
So with that thought in his mind, he took the challenge.
To not… lose himself in this darkness.
To… not be erased.
Ti passed.
If the concept of ti even existed here in the first place.
Then suddenly, while Nux was still trying to keep his mind intact—
Sothing happened.
A small, extrely faint connection that he wouldn't even have felt if he had given up and accepted his fate.
Nux focused on it instantly, for the first ti since he had opened his eyes in this darkness, he could manage to sense sothing other than himself, so he needed to know what it was.
Nux reached for the connection and unlike others, this connection answered.
And the mont it did, the mont he recognized it—
If Nux had a face, it would have turned cold.
It was the Bloodedge.
His—no, the Seer's Sword.
Nux's anger flared. He cursed himself for not breaking this connection at that very mont, but very soon, he recalled that he didn't exactly have the ti to do it.
Not when he was surrounded by the five strongest beings in the Universe.
But just as Nux thought about it, another thought appeared in his head—
'How am I… still sensing it…?'
He wondered.
His connection with all his weapons was broken when the Infinities erased him, then…
How was he still feeling the connection…?
And why just the Bloodedge?
Nux focused harder.
That was when he sensed it—
Sothing else that was connected to the Bloodedge.
A… Path.
An… opening.
He couldn't see it, there was still Darkness all around him,
But he could feel it.
A way out of this place.
That alone was enough.
Nux reached toward the opening but—
Nothing happened.
He tried to move towards the opening, to use the connection and pull himself towards it, to use the Bloodedge to make the path but—
No matter what he did—
Nothing happened.
Nux did not have a body, nor a soul, he had no Laws, no powers, he didn't even actually exist—
He was… rely a fragnt of thoughts, the last remaining Will that was supposed to fade away.
And anything that did not have any form of body, be it a physical body or a Soul—
It was not supposed to move.
It was… impossible.
'Heh.'
Nux smiled at that.
'Impossible, huh…'
He collected himself.
He tried to sense it, his Law of Anomaly, the Power that made even the Impossible Possible but—
He couldn't do it.
Even the Law of Anomaly did not exist here.
Nothing could exist here.
That too… was impossible.
But Nux did not care.
His mind, or whatever was left of it, started working, it started thinking.
In the battle against the Five Infinities, he was still restricted by ti, most of his attention was on the battle so he couldn't exactly focus either—
But now—
Now it was different.
Now he had all the ti and attention in the world, now—
He could deepen his understanding even further.
So Nux made a decision.
This was not where he was going to fall.
No.
He was going to gather his thoughts, he was going to understand his own powers, and once again—
He was going to make the Impossible Possible.
