Upon hearing Xu Ke’s words, Lin ngyao felt as if the coldness in her body was instantly ward.
"You told her like this, will she agree? Will she let you leave?" Lin ngyao said uncertainly, biting her spoon, her eyes firmly fixed on Xu Ke’s face, as if trying to determine whether he was telling the truth or not.
"She agreed." Xu Ke nodded and said.
Lin ngyao saw no sign of a guilty conscience on Xu Ke’s face, so she smiled reassuringly, her tone becoming more relaxed.
"How much did you give her? Was it enough? Should we give her a little more, after all, she’s practically holess now, giving her more money might let her live a more comfortable life." Lin ngyao said generously.
"Don’t worry, I gave her plenty of money, enough for her to live worry-free, you don’t have to worry too much about her." Xu Ke said with a smile.
Elsewhere, the man, who had survived a crisis after successful rescue in the hospital, opened his eyes, looking at the glaring white light above him. Angrily, he pounded the boat decking, his newly plastered hand throbbing with pain.
Fortunately, it did not hit the bone, so there was no need for a re-fracture, otherwise, the man would have suffered again. Even so, it was a hard lesson for him—when had he ever been so injured or endured such suffering?
With clenched teeth, the image of Xu Ke’s face erged in his mind, fierce and furious.
"I will make you pay." Swore the man through gritted teeth.
Getting information about Xu Ke wasn’t that difficult. Many witnessed what happened at the hotel entrance, and under the man’s financial persuasion, he quickly found out Xu Ke’s na and his room number.
"Xu Ke, Xu Ke, I will make you regret this." The man said, clutching the paper with Xu Ke’s information on it.
anwhile, bored and far away in Arica, Xu Longzhen received a phone call from the man, listening to his tearful complaints indignantly, Xu Longzhen impatiently scratched her ear.
"I’m giving you one minute to clarify your point; I don’t have ti to hear your nonsense." Xiao Longzhen’s voice sounded sowhat ambiguously gendered, making it hard for anyone listening to imagine if she was a girl.
The man, caught in his crying outburst, suddenly fell silent at Xu Longzhen’s words, like a chicken with its neck caught.
"You have thirty seconds left, speak quickly if you have sothing to say, if not, I’ll hang up." Without hearing a response, Xu Longzhen grew more impatient. She couldn’t stand people who dragged things out. If the person were in front of her, she’d definitely give them a harsh kick.
Hearing the impatience in Xu Longzhen’s tone, the man quickly spoke, disregarding the tears on his face, and explained his purpose.
Xu Longzhen clicked her tongue, "Isn’t it just asking to help you get even? Why drag it out for so long? I happen to be quite bored these days, needing so entertainnt. I’ll reluctantly take this journey. Rember, next ti just get straight to the point. I can’t stand people who drag on like this, if there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up."
Despite saying so, Xu Longzhen didn’t give the man any chance to respond, swiftly hanging up without a shred of hesitation.
"Prepare for , I’m going to China for a while." Xu Longzhen tossed the phone onto the coffee table and said to her assistant.
"But didn’t the family ask you to quickly find Xu Jiahui? It’s not a good idea if people find out you’re going to China." The assistant adjusted the glasses on his nose and said.
"Just don’t let the family know. I trust your abilities. Besides, where could Xu Jiahui have wandered off to—a woman that big, probably enjoying herself on a yacht sowhere with those two bodyguards of hers. You know her style, can’t live without a man, always thinking of dragging one to bed as soon as she sees one. She’s likely off on so romantic adventure; why should I look for her?"
Xu Longzhen shot a sidelong glance at her assistant and said, "Moreover, she and I never got along. The family probably didn’t genuinely want to find her, just putting on a show. Even if I found her diligently, she might resent for interrupting her fun. Why do sothing so thankless?"
"I’d rather go out to have so fun than waste ti finding her." Xu Longzhen pouted.
Her assistant, convinced by Xu Longzhen’s argunts, finally stopped objecting. Instead, he earnestly covered her tracks from the family, booking a ticket to China and ensuring there were no loose ends to disrupt Xu Longzhen’s plans.
At this mont, Xu Ke was unaware soone had set their sights on him. The man, to Xu Ke, was just a small incident in the day, unworthy of mory. Besides, Xu Ke didn’t think this man could truly summon the Xu Longzhen he ntioned.
Hence, Xu Ke was helping Lin ngyao pack up, preparing to leave the island early.
Although Xu Ke claid he had broken up with Ariel, the island wasn’t big, and there was still a chance they might bump into each other. What if Ariel changed her mind and clung to him again?
The more Lin ngyao thought, the more this scenario seed likely, causing her packing to beco even more frantic, almost neurotic.
Thus, before Yu Xia even had ti to sober up from her embarrassnt, Lin ngyao announced her intention to leave.
"Are we leaving this hastily?" With her head aching due to a hangover, Yu Xia asked with furrowed brows. Her expression made Lin ngyao misinterpret that Yu Xia hadn’t had enough fun on the island, causing a fleeting guilt to cross Lin ngyao’s face.
"I know we’re leaving quite hastily this ti, and you didn’t get to enjoy yourself fully, but I have reasons I must leave. I promise to make it up to you next ti." Lin ngyao said stiffly.
"That’s not what I ant." Yu Xia imdiately waved her hands fiercely upon hearing Lin ngyao’s words, trying to prove her sincerity, "I can leave whenever; I just think this ti we’re moving a bit too quickly. I haven’t even had ti to pack my luggage." Yu Xia explained awkwardly, "Sorry, I’m holding you back."
