"It’s best if you don’t get soft-hearted. If you do, I’ll be in a difficult position," Job said, smiling at his identical younger brother.
"You’re underestimating ," Albo shot a glance at Job. "It’s getting late today. I’m going to rest first. Tomorrow, I’ll et with Xu Ke and see if I can bring him to our side. If it doesn’t work, then you can take action."
Albo stood up from his seat, showing no emotion when talking about Xu Ke’s fate, as if he had never known this person at all.
Seeing his brother wasn’t being emotional, Job felt half-relieved.
"Don’t worry. There’s nothing your brother can’t do when he takes action. Have you ever seen fail?" Job raised an eyebrow at his brother, speaking with a slightly cheeky tone.
Albo ignored his odd-headed brother, left the room, and fell asleep once he returned to his own.
He arranged to et at a fast-food place not far from the factory.
When Xu Ke arrived, Albo had already ordered food for them. Xu Ke got a large cup of iced cola and a Big Mac, whereas Albo ordered himself a cup of iced cola and fries.
"Here I am," Albo waved at Xu Ke with a big smile, looking like a sunshine-filled young man.
"I see you. Sorry I’m late," Xu Ke said as he sat across from Albo.
Actually, he had spotted Albo with his conspicuous red hair from outside the store. Anyone with normal eyesight would notice that striking hair imdiately.
"So, what brings you to today?" Xu Ke didn’t hold a grudge against Albo. Sitting across from him, he confird the iced cola was for him, took a big sip, and felt the coldness sweep from his mouth to his brain, jolting him awake.
"There is sothing I need your help with. My dad handed a mall a few days ago, but you know . I wasn’t attentive in class, and I’m not gifted in managent, so it’s really troubling for . When I heard you sorted a factory in just a few days, I rushed over to trouble you. Can you help manage the mall? Don’t worry, I won’t shortchange you on pay."
Albo’s expression turned from troubled to slightly embarrassed, with a hint of eagerness by the end.
The emotion in his eyes progressed layer by layer, full of richness like a movie star. No, even the acting in stars’ eyes isn’t as nuanced or abundant as his.
While sipping cola, Xu Ke had to admire Albo’s excellent acting, even wanting to say it was a pity he hadn’t won an Oscar for it.
Albo eagerly laid out his plan, yet received no response from Xu Ke. His smile gradually faded as he looked at Xu Ke with an inexplicable persistence.
"Why are you looking at like that? Is there sothing on my face?" Xu Ke asked in confusion.
Albo seed reminded by Xu Ke’s words, retracting the persistent gaze and returning to his initial expression.
"It’s nothing, just that you haven’t given your answer. Will you help or not?" Albo asked.
"You know I currently have no team. If you don’t help, my big mall will be running at a loss. Can you bear to see lose everything? I’m very poor; I can’t afford to get poorer, or my siblings will mock ." Albo put on a pitiful look, as if Xu Ke refusing him would be a grave mistake.
Xu Ke’s face also showed a troubled look, "It’s not that I don’t want to help you; I just haven’t managed a mall before. I’m afraid I’ll only hinder you if I go. Plus, the factory here has just stabilized. Leaving now would be irresponsible to the factory. Do you want soone so irresponsible?" Xu Ke took a big sip of cola and asked Albo innocently.
Albo turned red from Xu Ke’s rebuttal, montarily at a loss for words.
Albo looked awkward, whereas Xu Ke remained naturally calm, eating the burger Albo ordered as if he were dining in a high-end restaurant, even though it was a fast-food joint.
Seeing Xu Ke’s reaction made Albo grind his teeth in frustration. But considering Xu Ke’s capabilities, he hesitated to let go.
He could only tell himself to try one more ti. If Xu Ke remained so ungrateful, there’d be no need to keep him.
Albo’s eyes flashed with a gleam he thought hidden, unaware Xu Ke had seen it all.
Xu Ke lowered his gaze, his eyes carrying a hint of mockery.
"I don’t care, Mr. Xu. I’m your student; how can you just ignore ? I really need your help. Please co and help ," Albo pleaded, using his coquetry, seemingly desperate to rope Xu Ke in.
"Besides, hasn’t the factory already stabilized? It doesn’t need you as much. If you’re really worried, what about this? I’ll wait half a month. I’ll hang in for half a month, and you can find soone to take your place. Half a month is enough for these arrangents. What do you say, Mr. Xu?"
Albo blinked a few tis, looking pitiful.
"What you suggest might work, but I really can’t help you. I’m genuinely unfamiliar with mall operations, and I truly can’t leave my things here. I can’t just leave things half-done, so you might need to find soone else." Xu Ke smiled, but his resolve remained unchanged.
Albo’s smile gradually disappeared, "Are you serious, Mr. Xu? You talk about not giving up halfway, but when teaching us equestrian, you left halfway without saying such words. In the end, you just don’t want to help , right?"
Xu Ke slowly swallowed the last bite of his burger, "As long as you understand these things, why say them out loud? Don’t you know so things are aningless once spoken?" Xu Ke leaned back slightly, his smile constant.
"Why? Why don’t you want to help ?" Albo asked with a puzzled expression, "Am I worse than Claude?"
Now that everything was out in the open, Albo no longer hid his thoughts, his eyes revealing undeniable ambition, gazing firmly at Xu Ke as if he wouldn’t stop until he got an answer.
