The woman’s movents were quick and fierce, but she was completely unable to do anything to Xu Ke. Before the fight, the woman thought that with her abilities, killing soone who looked as incapable of fighting as Xu Ke would be a breeze. If it weren’t for this misconception, she wouldn’t have been so eager to strike just now.
But the mont they actually engaged, that thought was completely dispelled. Apart from initially catching Xu Ke off guard and injuring him slightly, she couldn’t harm Xu Ke at all after that. No matter how she attacked or where she aid, Xu Ke was able to intercept it. Not only that, he could even knock her down.
At this mont, the woman was especially thankful that Xu Ke didn’t have a weapon in his hand. Otherwise, if Xu Ke had gotten hold of a weapon, what good outco could there be for her?
However, her relief didn’t last long, because the places where Xu Ke had hit her earlier began to feel weak and painful. The sensation was awful, and the dagger in her hand fell to the floor. If not for the fact that her foot was just a little distance away from the trajectory of the falling dagger, her foot might have been crippled by now.
Looking at the dagger on the floor, a cold sweat broke out on her body. "Are you crazy? Do you know what could have happened if I hadn’t moved aside just now?" She couldn’t help but shout, looking at the dagger just milliters away from her toes.
"I know." Xu Ke nodded, displaying an extraordinary calm throughout. Even when being questioned by the other party, he could speak such words without changing his expression.
"The situation between us now is that you want to kill . Is it right for a killer to ask such a question to the person they intend to kill?" Xu Ke said with a faintly mocking smile.
The woman was left speechless by Xu Ke’s words. Even though she wanted to retort, as Xu Ke pointed out, she had no standing to say such things. If she stubbornly insisted, it would only illustrate her own guilt.
"What did you do to just now? Otherwise, why would I have such a reaction? Why is my arm now completely powerless?" The woman attempted to lift her arm with great effort. To her, it seed as if she was exerting all her strength, but from Xu Ke’s perspective, her arm moved only a few inches, as if she hadn’t moved at all.
"Would you believe if I said I did nothing?" Xu Ke shrugged his shoulders, displaying an innocent posture.
The woman’s eyes blazed at Xu Ke. She had never suffered such a loss from anyone before, but this man she had underestimated left her with bitter consequences she had no choice but to swallow.
"You’re really despicable," the woman said through gritted teeth, looking at Xu Ke.
"Are you serious, miss? A person who ca to kill is calling despicable? That’s the funniest joke I’ve heard tonight—a killer calling their intended victim despicable."
Xu Ke’s words were like a slap in the woman’s face, turning her complexion from pale to flushed. For a mont, all she could do was glare at Xu Ke with clenched teeth, unable to articulate any retort.
Finally, she managed to stamr out, "Aren’t you Eastern people supposed to show courtesy to won? Aren’t you supposed to have so gentlemanly manners? I’m a woman, and I haven’t hard you. How could you hit ?"
"Before you say that, please understand, I’m unhard not because you held back, but because I protected myself well. If I hadn’t been able to protect myself, I’d already be a ghost under your knife. What’s the point of talking about being a gentleman or not?" Xu Ke’s smile carried a hint of ridicule.
"Don’t you find what you just said particularly funny?" Xu Ke asked rhetorically as he walked towards the woman, continuously closing the distance between them.
Although Xu Ke had disabled the woman’s arm, her legs were unhard. Every ti Xu Ke took a step forward, she took a step back, maintaining a distance of around one ter between them.
But the space in the room was limited, and soon the woman’s back was against the cold wall, leaving her with nowhere to retreat.
"Can I discuss sothing with you? Or maybe I can make a deal with you?" The woman quickly said as she watched Xu Ke draw closer.
Sure enough, Xu Ke stopped as she anticipated.
"What kind of deal do you want to make with ?" Xu Ke tilted his head slightly, curious.
"Actually, this deal is very simple for you. As long as you let go, I’ll tell you who’s behind all this targeting you," the woman said, swallowing hard.
"That’s unnecessary because there are too many people targeting . Even if you don’t tell , they will eventually be dealt with, so your list holds no significance for ," Xu Ke coldly rejected her offer.
"Since you don’t care about the list, let’s change the offer. I’m willing to give you money. I’ve saved a considerable amount over the years. If you let go, I can give you all my money. That way, you wouldn’t have to work as a factory manager here and could pursue your ambitions and do what you want," the woman said anxiously.
"I don’t care about money. I didn’t beco a factory manager for the money in the first place. So the amount I earn here doesn’t affect at all. This deal is also off the table," Xu Ke said, shaking his finger as he rejected her offer again.
Seeing Xu Ke about to step forward again, the woman’s expression turned from fear to urgency, then swiftly spoke again: "If those don’t interest you, I have sothing else to offer. You’ll definitely like it."
"Oh? You’re that confident? Now I’m curious what you intend to trade," Xu Ke said, stopping once more, patiently waiting for her to reveal her cards.
". My offer is myself. As long as you let go, I’ll be yours, doing whatever you ask," the woman suggested strongly with her eyes lingering on Xu Ke, as if her gaze were hooks, trying to captivate his very soul.
But this tactic was like casting coquettish glances at a blind man in front of Xu Ke, whose heart remained unfazed.
"That’s it?"
Xu Ke’s question felt like a heavy blow to the woman’s face, making her feel like she was just a clown performing a futile act monts ago.
"Are you not even a bit tempted? Or do you prefer n? Or maybe you just can’t do it?"
The woman couldn’t believe there could be a man who could resist her charm. Watching Xu Ke’s impassive deanor, her expression began to take on a hint of madness.
