Wei Lai had never looked at Wei Ji with such eyes, filled with hatred, terrifying and mad.
Unconsciously, Wei Ji took two steps back, and at that mont, Wei Mother stood between them.
"Honey, what are you doing? No matter what Wei Ji has done, he’s our son. What are you trying to do with that expression on your face? What do you want to do?" Wei Mother spread her arms, like a hen protecting her chick, firmly shielding Wei Ji behind her.
"What am I doing? I’ll beat this ungrateful brat to death, that’s what! I’ve worked hard for so many years to build a position, and this kid ruined it with just a few words. After all, she was a mother; how could she stand anyone, even the child’s father, slandering her child like this?
"A child?" Wei Lai’s voice rose by at least eight pitches, "Whose child is his age? Have you seen a child that big? Other people’s children, even at four or five, are already sensible. "Hindsight? You dare say I’m being hindsight?" Wei Lai pointed at his own nose, sneering coldly, speaking with disbelief and mockery.
"When I wanted to teach the child back then, did you let ? Didn’t you push away and tell not to interfere? Regarding the child’s education, of all the things I said, which one did you listen to? Just like I said repeatedly to stay away from your family mbers, who are like blood-sucking leeches, did you listen to ?" The more Wei Lai spoke, the more pronounced his mocking tone beca.
Wei Mother was trembling with anger from Wei Lai’s words, "As soon as sothing goes wrong, you shift all the bla onto . What do you take for, your scapegoat? Wei Lai’s words struck like a steel blade straight through Wei Mother’s heart, leaving it bloody.
"That’s enough from you both, is it necessary to argue so much over sothing so small?"
Wei Ji finally snapped out of his shocked state. He was truly frightened, never having seen his famously loving parents fight so fiercely.
