It seed like the sa private room had transford into two different worlds for a mont. Xu Ke was sitting in a corner with the sisters, all three of them drinking and chatting. Whatever Xu Ke was saying had the sisters crying out in shock, disbelief etched across their faces, as if they’d heard sothing incredible.
The room was filled with a cacophony of sounds, noisy as ever. The sisters, wanting to hear Xu Ke clearly, kept inching closer to him, leaning in to catch his words.
Seeing the two fluffy heads leaning towards him, Xu Ke couldn’t help but feel amused and helpless at the sa ti. His voice naturally trailed off.
"And then what happened? What’s next?" Tangtang asked, shaking Xu Ke’s arm.
Guoguo didn’t speak but nudged Xu Ke’s shoulder, silently urging him to continue.
Just as Xu Ke was about to reveal the last part of the story, exposing who the real culprit was, a shadow covered the light above. All three of them looked up to see what was blocking the light, only to be t with the unhidden body of a tattooed man. The sisters, unprepared, shut their eyes tightly and let out short screams. Luckily, the room was already lively, so their voices blended in without seeming out of place.
Xu Ke shifted his gaze upwards towards the tattooed man’s face. "Do you need sothing?" Xu Ke asked.
The tattooed man looked at Xu Ke with eyes like a snake ready to strike, its tongue flicking out, prepared to take a bite at any mont.
But the tattooed man quickly shifted his gaze onto Tangtang and Guoguo. "What were you guys doing just now? Not making the most of such a beautiful ti to enjoy life, just sitting here covered up chatting? If you don’t want them, hand them over to . I’ve never slept with twins before. I heard twins have telepathy. Who knows if it’s true or false? Why don’t I give it a try?"
As he spoke, the tattooed man reached out to grab soone, but Xu Ke intercepted him halfway, holding the man’s hand firmly. "These two are with today. Trying to take them from isn’t quite right, is it?" Xu Ke said, gripping the tattooed man’s hand tightly, preventing him from touching Tangtang.
Tangtang moved a bit closer to Xu Ke, her face pale, almost curling up into his embrace. Maybe this was their destined fate, but at least for today, at least at this mont, they just wanted to quietly listen to Xu Ke’s suspenseful stories, like a form of escapism, to delay as much as they could for one more day if possible.
"What? Not enjoying yourself and won’t let others do so either? That’s not very fair, is it? If you can’t handle it, just say so, don’t pretend. We’re all family here, there’s no need. If you can’t protect them, just let go, and soone else will help you take care of them," the tattooed man said, glancing pointedly at Xu Ke’s pants with a gaze that was both lewd and aningful.
Xu Ke understood that he hadn’t contributed anything to them, and had only been here for a short ti, yet he had sohow ended up on equal footing with them and even took a share of their benefits. To them, he was like a thief who stole treasures from their warehouse. No wonder they despised him. But understanding didn’t an Xu Ke would accept them coming to challenge his authority.
Xu Ke looked at the man, suddenly breaking into a smile. "Whether I’m capable or not, these two will know. Whether others know or not doesn’t matter to , and I’m not into showing off in public. I prefer to treasure my precious things and enjoy them quietly myself. Anyone daring to covet my possessions, I’ll chop off their hand."
The tattooed man stared intently at Xu Ke, the smile on his face fading, but then quickly replaced by a mocking curve. "Don’t speak too soon. Precious things are sothing you can’t protect without matching power. Instead of losing sothing more precious by protecting these treasures, it would be wiser to hand them over to soone more capable of protecting them, don’t you think?"
"I find that logic unreasonable. Since the treasure ended up in my hands, it shows that I am destined for it. Buddhists talk about karma. This treasure being with indicates that we have the greatest affinity. Since the treasure trusts , I can’t betray its trust, and I must do my utmost to protect it. And to boast a bit, since I grew up, unless I willingly gave sothing up, no one has ever taken anything from my grasp."
Xu Ke smiled innocently, speaking the most arrogant words in the calst tone, causing the tattooed man’s expression to completely disappear, even the hint of mockery vanished.
"Is that so? But haven’t you heard the saying that there’s always an exception?" the tattooed man said coldly.
"But why do I only know the term foolproof?" Xu Ke responded with a smile.
The two of them faced off silently. Although others were busy with their own affairs, Xu Ke knew their eyes were furtively observing the situation, silently watching the tattooed man’s provocation towards him.
Xu Ke believed that if he showed the slightest sign of retreat in this confrontation, these people would pounce like sharks slling blood, and if not devour him whole, they’d at least take a bite out of him, leaving him in pieces. Therefore, he couldn’t afford to appear weak.
At this mont, Xu Ke was like a leopard with limbs stretched, waiting to deliver a fatal strike to the enemy, his open mouth revealing the sharpest fangs, enough to make one’s scalp tingle.
Both sides understood that this was not a simple clash. This confrontation would determine Xu Ke’s future position among the elite, deciding whether he would beco soone anyone could step on and discard at will, or soone untouchable.
It was clear now that Xu Ke belonged to the latter category, like a piece of tal, where anyone attempting to take a bite would first break their teeth.
