Xu Ke walked into the courtyard, and at a glance, he saw five n sitting around a table. The table was full of food, and there were crates of alcohol under their feet. It seed they were having a great ti before he arrived.
Xu Ke’s face turned cold, and the way he looked at them was as if he were gazing at a group of corpses.
"I’m here to find soone. Hand them over, and I can pretend nothing happened, otherwise, don’t bla for being rude." Xu Ke said.
The n in the courtyard listened to Xu Ke’s words and exchanged glances, then burst into laughter, mixed with a lot of mockery.
"Who are you talking about? All of us are here, do you see anyone you’re looking for? If you don’t, hurry up and get lost, stop acting tough here, who do you think you are?" The man posing as a talent scout walked up to Xu Ke, eyeing him up and down with growing disdain.
"It’s not that I look down on you, but look at your small fra, who here could you possibly take down? With that look, you’re brave to act tough here; you must be here seeking death, right?" The man burped out an alcohol-laden statent away.
"You can try, I’m giving you one last chance to hand over the person to ." Xu Ke looked at the man and spoke.
"Who? You ca in demanding soone, who are you asking for? What place do you think this is? Who could possibly give you anyone?" The drunken man unleashed a barrage of questions.
"I know you took away two girls today, they’re twins. I’m their family mber, and dinner is ready at ho. I’m here to take them ho for dinner." Xu Ke said.
"What? Dinner? Hahaha, did I hear you wrong? We’re all here in the courtyard, do you see any girls or twins? You’ve got to be crazy looking for soone. Are you sick? If so, go to the ntal hospital; we don’t cure such madness here." The man reached out and poked Xu Ke’s chest.
Xu Ke stretched out his hand, grabbed the man’s hand that was causing trouble on his chest.
The strength made the man cry out in pain, "Let go, quickly let go of my hand." The man spoke in pain.
Xu Ke twisted the man’s wrist into a circle, making it reach a degree unattainable for most people.
"I don’t have ti to waste here with you. Hand over the person, and I’ll take them and leave; otherwise, this is just an appetizer." Xu Ke spoke while exerting force on the man’s wrist. A snap sounded, and the man’s wrist completely detached, breaking.
The pain sobered the man temporarily, and Xu Ke released his hand, letting him hold his broken hand and wail beside him.
The n in the courtyard hadn’t considered that Xu Ke would actually make a move. They held him in contempt; Xu Ke’s sudden show of skill made them tremble, and the alcohol in their stomachs seed to sweat out, making them sober up quickly.
"Who the hell are you?" One of them asked in a wary voice, looking at Xu Ke.
Others caught their comrades’ gesture and stood up, those more alert moved closer to the door.
It seed like they wanted to shut the door and trap Xu Ke; he noticed their movents but ignored them, not trying to stop them.
The ones doing the small tricks thought Xu Ke was unaware as they quickly approached the door, slamming it shut, and locking it tightly from inside with the latch.
Completely cutting off Xu Ke’s escape, they thought of him as their prey, unaware that in Xu Ke’s eyes their actions ant self-destruction; in his view, they were the prey.
They believed locking the door ant Xu Ke had no way out. Their faces showed fierce and smug smiles like Xu Ke would soon be kneeling, begging for rcy.
"Who I am isn’t important. What’s important is that I’m here to find soone. I won’t leave until I find who I’m looking for. If you co to your senses, give them to , I’ll make it painless for you. Otherwise, I’ll show you what ’worse than death’ ans."
As soon as Xu Ke finished speaking, the n in the courtyard didn’t show fear; instead, their faces displayed mockery, and they produced voices.
Their laughter rose and fell like ducks by the reeds, annoyingly loud, and Xu Ke couldn’t help but frown, wanting to find an opportunity to silence them all to stop the noise.
"That’s hilarious, thinking you could offer us painless death, or make us worse off than dead? Seriously, can’t you see the situation clearly? Look at how many we are vs. how many you are. You’re alone, buddy!"
"Two fists can’t fight four hands, you know? Besides, soone like you, I could take five down with one punch, no need for anyone else. Check your strength before boasting, don’t do ridiculous things that invite ridicule, okay?" A man said, followed by laughter.
The others in the courtyard joined in the laughter, like it was contagious, each following the other, until it beca a cacophony.
Normally anyone in such a situation, even if not scared, would feel awkward, as the laughing stock. But Xu Ke seed unaffected, eyes fixed on the n in front of him, with no emotion displayed.
Gradually, the laughter in the courtyard died down; under Xu Ke’s gaze, they couldn’t laugh anymore.
In fact, Xu Ke’s attitude influenced them, causing a reverse reaction, making them increasingly despise Xu Ke.
"In short, we don’t have the person you’re looking for. We thought of letting you go, but you’re too annoying. Without beating you, I won’t be satisfied," the man posing as a talent scout said.
The hand Xu Ke had torn off was reattached by his brothers; although painful, it was no longer a major issue. But since he suffered at Xu Ke’s hands, he needed to save face.
"Clearly, you won’t cry until you see the coffin. I’m not starting anything until you hand over the person." Xu Ke turned his hand from a palm into a fist, speaking.
"Stop the verbal sparring, let’s see if the pony or the horse performs. Show if you’re tougher or if our fists are harder," the man posing as a talent scout spoke.
