The mont they ntioned another party venue, the staff mber’s heart trembled. This was a big order, and if she ssed it up, her boss definitely wouldn’t let her off the hook.
But if she had to apologize to this group, she couldn’t swallow her pride. She had already said those words before; now apologizing would be like slapping herself in the face.
Being a young woman out in the world wasn’t easy, so why couldn’t this group be more understanding? Why did they have to be so aggressive?
At this mont, the woman’s heart resented Xu Ke and his group.
Even though Xu Ke had played the role of a background figure the whole ti, hardly speaking, it didn’t an he hadn’t been watching everything unfold.
Everything that had happened from their party venue until now had been seen by him; he simply hadn’t bothered to speak up, but it wasn’t because he didn’t understand or didn’t know.
The staff mber shifted her gaze, and Xu Ke already knew what she was thinking, just blaming them for their words.
But the mistake was originally with the staff mber; if you’ve already agreed to rent to one party, then you shouldn’t accept another offer just because of the price.
This is a very serious breach of contract behavior, which is utterly unethical.
Just like young couples dating nowadays, if you’ve already promised to soone, how can you promise to a second person simultaneously?
How is this any different from the cri of bigamy? Such behavior is reprehensible no matter where it occurs.
And the mistake was yours, and it could have been resolved with just an apology, but the staff mber refused to apologize and repeatedly provoked them verbally.
Turning a very small issue into such a big deal.
Xu Ke felt the staff mber should take full responsibility for the incident.
His employees might have spoken harshly, but there’s a saying that even if words are crude, the reasoning isn’t wrong; if you hadn’t done such an unethical thing, how could there be an opportunity for others to criticize you?
So you brought this on yourself.
Xu Ke raised his hand to quiet down the employees who were causing a ruckus.
The staff mber quietly exhaled, thinking Xu Ke had decided to let the matter pass and would just rent the party venue and settle the final paynt with her.
But in reality, her assumption was totally wrong.
"Since you persist in thinking you’re not at fault, let’s end this matter here, it stops now."
With Xu Ke’s words, the employees behind him had a change of face. They felt Xu Ke was slapping their face, leaving their expressions with a desire to speak yet stopping.
The staff mber thought Xu Ke would let the matter drop, and couldn’t help but show a bit of glee, staring provocatively at the employees behind Xu Ke.
Her expression seed to say, "Look, even your people aren’t siding with you, so I’m the one who’s right."
But Xu Ke rely smiled slightly at her expression, "Since you don’t think you’re wrong and won’t apologize to my employees, then we won’t rent this party venue today; keep it to rent to others. Also, return our deposit; since you don’t want to fulfill your obligations, our contractual relationship ends here."
Xu Ke fully expressed his thoughts, successfully seeing the other party’s face turn dramatically.
"It’s you who don’t want to rent the party venue, so why should I return your rental fee? Clearly, it’s you who want to break the contract, what’s it got to do with ?" the staff mber protested in dissatisfaction.
"I disagree with you there, so let’s straighten out the logic. Since you said ’highest bidder wins,’ and our bid wasn’t high, the party venue rental should go to Mr. Song, right?" Xu Ke asked.
The staff mber, fearing Xu Ke would trip her up, repeatedly went through his words in her mind, finding no loopholes, before nodding in agreent.
"So since this party venue is already Mr. Song’s, our rental relationship has ended, shouldn’t you be returning our deposit?" Xu Ke smiled and asked in return.
"But Mr. Song doesn’t want it, now the party venue belongs to you," the staff mber replied unsatisfied.
"But what does that have to do with us? We made only one transaction with you, and you’ve refused our offer, ending our transaction at that point—even though you hadn’t returned our deposit yet," Xu Ke said calmly.
"As for you saying Mr. Song doesn’t want it and the venue belongs to us, I must say sorry—our transaction was only with you. This counts as a second transaction, and the current situation is I’m rejecting your second transaction. It’s that simple; if you don’t return our money, I plan to have a talk with your boss tonight, and if it can’t be resolved there, perhaps we can discuss it at the police station. I’m sure Mr. Song would be willing to testify for us, right?"
Xu Ke directed attention to Mr. Song, who ignored the staff mber’s pleas, nodding happily to agree with Xu Ke’s approach.
The staff mber felt her world collapse; nothing could be worse.
The boss was aware of this order today; if he found out it vanished because of her, tonight’s venue losses would fall on her shoulders.
She was just a small worker, where would she find the money to pay this penalty?
Thinking of this, the staff mber no longer maintained her posture or worried about her dignity; compared to money, face ant nothing.
The staff mber wisely apologized to Xu Ke, admitting she hadn’t thought things through and had been blinded by money, and sincerely hoped Brother Xu would give her a second chance to correct her mistakes.
"I don’t accept your insincere apology. You actually don’t need to do this towards ; if you truly want to recover your losses, look at the person beside you." Xu Ke directed his gaze to Mr. Song.
Mr. Song, surprised Xu Ke turned the matter to him, showed a puzzled look but maintained his smile and continued to watch Xu Ke calmly, even nodding and greeting him warmly.
Prompted by Xu Ke, the staff mber’s eyes lit up like a recharged light bulb.
"Mr. Song, please co over and settle the final paynt with ," the staff mber spoke.
Mr. Song sighed, baffled, "Why should I settle a paynt with you? I haven’t used your venue. Also, you’ve offered the venue to two parties simultaneously, violating the contract spirit, so you should return my deposit. I even have the right to pursue compensation."
Mr. Song’s approach was even harsher than Xu Ke’s, aiming beyond just returning the deposit to scraping so extra benefits from her.
