Since then, they knew that even if they were in trouble, even if they cried out loud for help, the neighbors around wouldn’t assist.

The old saying goes that distant relatives are less helpful than close neighbors, but that only applied in old rural areas or long ago; nowadays, society is indifferent, and this saying hardly holds ground.

Many people live face to face without knowing each other’s nas; they don’t even greet each other when leaving in the morning, acting as if they are totally invisible, complete strangers.

Moreover, if this situation happened in the tongzi building, these people wouldn’t just not help them; they might even gather the next day to gossip about them.

Although being talked about wouldn’t physically harm them, the tongzi building has complex social dynamics, and nobody knows if these words would reach their workplaces.

If the gossip spreads to their workplaces, how could they survive in their units? The trouble they would face could be enormous by then.

Besides, no one wants to be gossiped about behind their backs; they’re not celebrities nor masochists who enjoy being insulted.

Tangtang and Guoguo, two sisters, were hiding behind, their hearts extrely apprehensive. They’d even thought to themselves if these three n were only here to steal, they’d stay behind the door silently, letting them take whatever they wanted from the house.

After all, there were three n, although they had many people with weapons, they couldn’t guarantee controlling these three.

If they could avoid confrontation, they wouldn’t risk their lives.

But unfortunately, today, these three n didn’t co for the valuables; they ca for Tangtang and Guoguo, the sisters.

"I’m Wu Lao Si, those two chicks aren’t awake yet, right?"

"There have been no sounds for so long, they must not be awake," the man called Wu Lao Si replied softly.

Wu Lao Si had always coveted Tangtang and Guoguo. Originally, he wanted to enjoy these won who haunted his thoughts alone today.

But unexpectedly, he got carried away while drinking, accidentally revealing his intentions, prompting his two drinking buddies to insist on joining him.

They not only wanted to see what the won, whom Wu Lao Si described as heavenly beauties, looked like, but they also wanted to follow Wu Lao Si to have a taste.

After all, the won in the tongzi building, due to day and night toil, appeared incredibly aged, everyone looked hurried or like the walking dead; no matter how lovely, once draped in two layers, they lost eighty to ninety percent of appeal.

They hadn’t seen decent won for a long ti, so upon hearing Wu Lao Si at the drinking table, they eagerly agreed to join.

Moreover, they weren’t afraid of Tangtang and Guoguo reporting them, as such occurrences aren’t respectable; unless the two won didn’t care about their reputations, they wouldn’t make such matters public.

And as long as they decided to keep this matter quiet, they had chances to continue taking advantage of the won.

Before they even saw Tangtang and Guoguo, they were already eagerly calculating their gains in their minds.

"But Wu Lao Si, are those two chicks really as beautiful as you said? Don’t bluff us; I’ve seen every woman in the tongzi building, none are good-looking."

"Trust , don’t doubt; besides, how long hasn’t you visited the tongzi building? These two chicks only moved here recently; I hadn’t seen them before either."

Wu Lao Si spoke while adeptly moving toward Tangtang and Guoguo’s bedroom.

His confident actions clearly indicated that it wasn’t his first ti at Tangtang and Guoguo’s ho. The sisters were reminded of their door being broken into twice over the past month, so terrified that their teeth began to chatter, a sense of dread rising.

They deeply regretted their decision to reside in the tongzi building at this mont, feeling that spending more money to stay at a hotel would be safer.

At least a hotel would provide much more security than here.

The apartnt Tangtang and Guoguo rented wasn’t large, thus, the three n quickly reached the sisters’ bedroom door.

No matter what they previously said, at that mont, they simultaneously rubbed their hands, their eyes filled with hunger.

"Rember, I discovered these two first, so I go first, then you can follow; don’t fight ," Wu Lao Si paused just as he was about to touch the door, speaking to the two n behind.

"Don’t worry, haven’t we already agreed on this? Relax, we definitely won’t regret it, hurry up and open the door; I can’t wait anymore," one of the two n said impatiently.

With their assurance, Wu Lao Si hesitated no longer, pushing towards the bedroom door, only to find it unmoved.

"Why isn’t it opening? Haven’t we promised?" one man questioned irritably.

"I’m not the one not opening, sothing seems to be blocking from behind, let push again," Wu Lao Si explained to the two n.

Thinking about the won even setting traps at the door, they no longer doubted Wu Lao Si’s explanation.

Behind the door, Tangtang and Guoguo’s hearts were pounding; they felt their hearts were about to jump out of their throats.

They never imagined such a thing would happen to them; all they could do was block the door, preventing the three n outside from entering, but beyond that, they were powerless.

At this mont, they missed Xu Ke, as he would rush over to rescue them whenever they faced danger.

But just as the thought arose, they firmly suppressed it, refusing to allow themselves to think of Xu Ke, whom they despised.

Wu Lao Si pushed twice more, still unable to move it.

The two n behind him couldn’t hold back anymore, reaching to push Wu Lao Si aside.

"Forget it, see what you can’t do even a door? Watch show you, open the door, then the two chicks behind it are ours," the man rubbed his hands excitedly as he spoke.
