Kael leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms as he observed the professor who had just entered the room. The man was tall and slender, dressed in a dark blue robe adorned with arcane symbols, carrying an ornate staff. His gaze swept across the classroom, evaluating the students with a stern expression.

"Good morning, students." His voice echoed through the room. "My na is Professor Alistair Vaelor, and I will be responsible for teaching you the Fundantals of Magic. So of you may already possess prior knowledge, but this subject is essential to ensure that everyone has a solid foundation before advancing to more complex studies."

Kael let out a quiet sigh. He already knew everything that would be taught here. Fundantals of Magic? He had been trained since the age of three by the Queen of Witches. This was nothing more than basic information he had mastered since childhood.

"This is going to be way too boring..." Kael thought.

As Alistair continued his explanation, Kael noticed that Alia was paying close attention, diligently recording every detail on the crystal register that students used to store information. So students looked fascinated by the diagrams the professor conjured in the air, while others frowned, struggling to grasp the more abstract concepts.

Kael, on the other hand, was already bored.

The professor began discussing the three fundantal pillars of magic: Form, Essence, and Conduction. He spoke in a monotonous tone, as if he were reading directly from a textbook.

Kael felt his eyelids grow heavy. He had studied these principles thousands of tis before.

His mind drifted to mories of Sylphie, of his grandmother, and of his intense training sessions. Before he realized it, his body relaxed, and his head tilted slightly to the side.

He fell asleep.

Not for long.

"Mr. Scarlet!" Alistair's sharp voice cut through the air like a blade. Kael lazily opened one eye and saw the entire class staring at him. Alia discreetly elbowed him, whispering, "Are you insane?" But he simply ignored her.

"I see my teaching is not worthy of your attention." Alistair crossed his arms, his expression full of disdain. "Since you seem so disinterested, perhaps you would like to enlighten us with your knowledge. Tell , Mr. Scarlet, if you truly understand the Fundantals of Magic, could you explain what I was just saying?"

The room fell silent. So students chuckled under their breath, thinking Kael was about to embarrass himself. Others simply waited to see how this would unfold.

Kael yawned, stretched, and looked directly into the professor's eyes. "You were talking about the three pillars of magic: Form, Essence, and Conduction. But your explanation was a bit shallow. Want to take it from here?"

Alistair narrowed his eyes. "By all ans, enlighten us."

Kael then stood up, stretching his arms before he began speaking. His voice was firm and filled with confidence.

"Form refers to the structure that magic takes. It is not just a ans of casting but the very manifestation of the spell in both physical and ethereal terms. Any alteration in Form can drastically change the outco of a spell. Errors in this stage can lead to instability and even arcane explosions."

The students started paying closer attention. So were left speechless, as Kael spoke with an absurd level of precision, without a hint of hesitation.

"Essence is the source of magic, the very fuel that powers a spell. Depending on the origin of mana—whether internal, external, or from a catalyst—the effect of magic can be amplified, diminished, or entirely altered. Mages who fail to fully understand Essence end up wasting their mana and becoming inefficient in battle."

Kael slowly paced around the classroom, his sharp eyes scanning the students as he continued his explanation. Alistair was visibly surprised but maintained a neutral expression.

"Finally, we have Conduction. This is where a mage's true skill cos into play. Conduction is not just a thod of channeling magic—it is also the ability to stabilize, shape, and refine it. Using a staff, a grimoire, or even hand gestures are all forms of conduction, but a true mage can wield magic through sheer willpower alone."

Kael stopped walking and locked eyes with Alistair. "If a mage does not master all three pillars, they will never be a true spellcaster. And honestly, professor, your explanation left out a lot of important details. You're pretty bad at this."

The silence in the room was deafening.

Alia stared at him as if she had just seen a ghost. So students were literally slack-jawed, unsure how to react. Others exchanged glances, stunned by the depth of his explanation.

Alistair pressed his lips together, clearly irritated. It was obvious he hadn't expected such a thorough response—let alone for a student to subtly mock his teaching approach.

The professor cleared his throat and adjusted his robes. "I see you've done your howork, Mr. Scarlet. But don't forget that theoretical knowledge alone is not enough. The practice of magic requires control, precision, and experience."

Kael smirked. "I couldn't agree more. But I can assure you, I'm not just about theory."

The tension in the room thickened, but Alistair chose not to extend the argunt. "Very well. Let's proceed with the lesson. Back to the material."

The students, still processing what had just happened, returned their focus to the class, though many now looked at Kael with a mix of respect, curiosity, and even fear.

Umbra, floating invisibly beside him, was laughing uncontrollably. "That was absolutely delicious! You made that professor swallow his own words."

Kael simply leaned back in his chair, ignoring the gazes around him. He had never intended to stand out so soon at the academy, but apparently, that was inevitable.

Alia leaned toward him and whispered, "Didn't you say you were going to keep a low profile?"

Kael smirked. "I might have underestimated myself. These people are way too arrogant."

[Azalith's Entrance – After the First Class]

"I can understand that you didn't want to stay with Mom and Dad…" an eleven-year-old boy with black hair said as he walked beside a girl with long, wavy black hair.

"But do you always have to be so serious whenever you're focused?" He asked, glancing out the window. "Besides… why are we traveling in secret? There aren't even any royal guards here." He turned toward a well-dressed man sitting with them in the carriage.

"Azalith's security is among the greatest in the world, second only to the Queen of Witches' Palace. I am more than enough to ensure your safe arrival," the man replied before continuing, "As for secrecy… well, it helps put Her Majesty's mind at ease."

"The princess has made it clear that she does not wish to draw any attention," he concluded, glancing at the girl, whose gaze was lost in the sight of the city passing by.

"I also made it clear that I didn't want anyone to co with ," she said, adjusting her hair as it fluttered in the gentle city breeze. "Yet, here you are."

"Sotis, I wonder how you've survived so long as a mber of the royal family, sister," the boy said, crossing his arms with an amused smile.

He continued, "You should be grateful to ," grinning. "Otherwise, you'd just stay locked up in the library all day."

"You're only here because your friend ditched you, and you had nothing else to do. You didn't want to be alone," she said coldly.

He felt an imaginary arrow pierce his chest—or rather, a dagger straight through his heart. His sister really had no filter! She was way too serious!

"Regardless!" he declared, regaining his composure. "I gave up all my plans just to co study with you! At least be grateful you have soone you know here!"

"Be quiet," she ordered as they passed through Azalith's entrance effortlessly.

She looked out the window, taking in the pristine academy grounds. Everything around them was immaculate, and the initial view was undeniably welcoming...

Except for the fact that—

A group of four people seed to be intimidating a boy and a girl.

"Hm?" She narrowed her eyes, intrigued by the boy. And then she felt it—pure mana, so pure that her eyes widened in shock.

'Magic of the World Tree?!' she questioned internally.

anwhile, elsewhere...

'What do I do?! What do I do?!' Alia was panicking.

Just monts after leaving class, a group of noble brats had cornered Kael and started mocking him. Or rather, threatening him for no real reason. After all, he was standing out too much…

'For fuck's sake! Did they not hear the na Scarlet?! Do they have a death wish?!'

She wasn't scared of them—hell no! These guys were pathetic! The real problem was Kael…

'He's got that look again… the sa one he had when he slamd that idiot's head into the wall…'

At this rate, those fools were going to end up dead.

So she stepped forward.

"Leave, before you get seriously hurt… Please," Alia said, placing herself in front of Kael, blocking his view.

"Look at this whore trying to protect this retard. How pathetic," sneered one of the boys, his short, ssy hair making him look even more repulsive.

'You ungrateful bastards! I'm trying to save your fucking lives!' she scread internally, enraged.

"Alia."

A cold gust of wind brushed past her ears, sending a terrifying shiver down her spine.

"M-Mommy— I an, yes?" she stamred, trembling.

"Please, step aside," Kael said, his eyes still closed, his lips curling into a smile that showed no teeth.

Alia's entire body shook, and she instinctively stepped away.

After all… she was terrified.

'Forgive , guys. You're on your own against this monster.'

'Rest in peace.'
