The silence that settled after Seraphyne's fall was not calm.

It was the kind of silence that precedes an earthquake.

A silence so heavy it seed to press on the chest of anyone in the hall. Alia approached first, stumbling, her ears still ringing. The floor was covered in white snow—remnants of the chaotic body that had disintegrated.

Kael remained kneeling in the center of the scene, his sword stuck in the ground, serving as support to keep him from collapsing completely. Blood trickled in dark rivulets between the broken plates of his armor. The shadow beneath his feet trembled unsteadily, as if trying to forcefully hold onto his consciousness.

Sylphie ran to him.

"Kael!" her voice faltered, scratched by the previous scream, but filled with pure despair. "You… you are…?"

Kael slowly raised his face. A line of blood ran from his lip to his chin, but his eyes were lucid. Or almost. Sothing pulsed behind them, an abnormal fluctuation of mana.

"I'm fine…" He took a deep breath, wiping the side of his face with the back of his hand. "Or… as close to it as I can be right now."

Irelia arrived right behind him, but didn't dare touch him. Her gaze swept over his condition—the wounds, the blood, the unstable shadow—and every detail seed to weigh her heart down a little more.

"You're bleeding a lot," she said, almost in a whisper. "This isn't normal, even for you."

Kael let out a brief sigh, as if considering the phrase irrelevant.

"It doesn't matter. The core is sealed. Seraphyne has fallen. It's over."

But the instant he uttered that last word…

…sothing changed.

Sylphie felt it first—a gentle tremor beneath her hands, as if the ground had breathed.

Alia felt it imdiately afterward—the air suddenly turned icy, without warning, without cause, as if the temperature had plumted fifty degrees in a single breath.

Irelia raised her head, her hand instinctively going to the hilt of her sword.

"...Did you feel that?"

Kael didn't answer.

He felt it before everyone else.

A sharp pain ran down his spine, as if sothing had inserted claws into his soul and pulled violently. His eyes widened. The shadow beneath him rippled erratically, almost panicked.

"Step back."

His voice wasn't loud.

It was heavy.

Authoritative.

Sylphie, Alia, and Irelia took a step back imdiately.

The temperature continued to drop.

Ice crystals began to form around the core, creating symtrical and disturbing patterns—like snowflakes that defied natural geotry. They were impossible fractals, patterns that seed to multiply when you looked directly at them.

Alia clutched her chest, her eyes trembling.

"No… this isn't mana. This… this is—"

The floor cracked.

The sound echoed through the hall like thunder trapped inside tal.

Kael raised his blade in a fraction of a second—but before he could even move, an explosion of white energy erupted from the point where Seraphyne had collapsed.

Not an explosion of fire or air.

An explosion of negation.

Reality folded like wet paper.

The impact hit Kael first—the air left his lungs in a dry thud. He was thrown backward, sliding across the floor as if struck by an invisible projectile.

"KAEL!" the girls scread simultaneously.

His body collided with one of the hall's columns, breaking it in two. Fragnts of stone fell, and Kael rolled among them, letting out a low but firm groan.

Alia rushed toward him.

"You're hurt! Leave alone—"

"Stop." Kael raised his hand before she could touch him. Blood trickled between his fingers, but his expression was cold. "It's not you have to worry about."

Irelia spun, sword in hand.

Sylphie swallowed, her face pale.

Because what rose in the center of the hall…

…was no longer Seraphyne.

Not even Chaos.

It was sothing different. Sothing new. Sothing that shouldn't exist.

The snow on the ground began to tremble, accumulating, swirling in circles. Crystals rose like blades, forming structures that resembled wings—but broken, twisted wings, too pointed to be natural.

A white pillar rose, twisting. The light within him pulsed like a hungry heart.

And then, slowly…

…a figure erged.

Humanoid, but too tall.

Feminine, but skinless—only ice, crystals, and shimring fissures through which Chaos seeped like liquid light.

Seraphyne opened her eyes.

And they were no longer white.

They were completely empty.

No pupils, no irises—just an icy glow, so cold it made your chest ache just to look at them.

Her voice echoed like glass being scratched:

"You killed …" The tone sounded sad.

lancholic.

But utterly false.

Seraphyne took a step forward.

The ground froze beneath her feet instantly.

"…but I didn't accept it."

Sylphie took a step back, her heart pounding so hard she could feel it in her temples.

"T-this isn't…this isn't normal. This isn't mana, Kael. This is—"

Kael stood slowly, remaining steady despite his wounds.

"Chaotic ice."

Alia's eyes widened.

"That exists?!"

"It shouldn't," Kael replied, wiping the blood from his mouth. "Chaos doesn't create structures. It doesn't create stable form." It's impossible for it to crystallize. That ans—

A huge fissure opened in the ground.

The ice around Seraphyne grew like living roots, spreading in all directions with absurd speed. The temperature dropped so low that the air began to crystallize into suspended particles—like frozen dust dancing in the dark.

Seraphyne raised her hand.

And the air around her distorted.

"It ans I evolved, Kael Scarlet."

Kael felt his breath catch in his throat.

That thing in front of him…

…was no longer just Seraphyne.

"She beca an Obelisk…" Kael murmured.

Alia turned her head sharply.

"Wh…what?"

Kael pointed the blade at Seraphyne, even with his arm trembling.

"A stable form of Chaos. An entity that doesn't depend on the host." A creature born when soone refuses… so profoundly… death itself…

that Chaos creates a form to allow its existence.

Sylphie recoiled further.

— This… this is against all magical laws…

— Exactly — Kael said.

Seraphyne tilted her head slowly, like a curious doll.

The ice around her cracked.

Each crack seed like a whisper.

— I don't accept that you defeated .

She extended her arm.

A white ice arrow surged into the air — uncreated, unsummoned.

It simply appeared, negating the existence of the previous void.

Kael barely had ti to react.

The arrow struck him directly in the chest.

He was thrown backward, crashing through two columns and sliding across the floor until he almost hit the final wall of the hall.

Sylphie scread.

— KAAAEEL!

Irelia ran with Sylphie chasing after her.

Alia cast a wind spell to cushion his fall, preventing him from being crushed by the last column.

Kael coughed up blood, much more than before.

He pressed his hand against the wound, feeling the ice spread beneath his skin.

Seraphyne took a step forward.

The ice around her grew like thorns.

"You shouldn't exist, Kael Scarlet." The voice multiplied, echoing in layers. "No one should carry that woman's blood. No one should defy Chaos. I will rewrite you. I will erase your birth. I will—"

"Shut up," Kael murmured, even bleeding, even pale. "You talk too much."

Seraphyne stopped.

And then smiled.

A smile that cracked half of her crystalline face.

"Great… then die in silence."

The ground exploded.

Ice blades shot out in all directions, like shards of a giant, furious mirror.

Alia pulled Sylphie away with a swift movent.

Irelia raised her sword, blocking one of the blades—but even so, she was thrown back, sliding several ters across the frozen ground.

Kael tried to stand, but the ice trapped in his chest crawled like roots, gripping his muscles, chilling his veins.

He felt the shadow beneath him writhe, trying to react…

…but even the shadow was freezing.

This was impossible.

Completely impossible.

And yet…

…it was happening.

Kael gritted his teeth.

"She's crystallizing even my shadow… I need to break this before it solidifies completely."

But Seraphyne didn't let him think.

Not this ti.

She disappeared—not in speed, but in transition.

A white blur.

And it reappeared right before Kael, hand raised—an ice blade growing from its forearm, thin as glass and sharp as concentrated hatred.

Kael raised his sword in ti.

The impact shook the hall.

Black and white sparks exploded in the air.

Kael's blade cracked.

Seraphyne's blade did not.

She tilted her face, observing the crack.

"Ah."

Her empty eyes glead.

"Your sword cannot withstand my new form."

Kael sensed the danger before the blade moved.

The shadow behind him rose, trying to defend him.

But Seraphyne cut through her own shadow—the very concept of it—before touching Kael.

The darkness evaporated with an inaudible groan.

Kael was exposed.

Seraphyne raised the blade again, aiming for his neck.

Sylphie scread.

Irelia tried to run.

Alia began to conjure a shield.

But there was no ti.

Seraphyne smiled.

"Farewell, son of the Witch of Chaos."

Kael looked up.

Even wounded.

Even frozen.

Even exhausted.

And he murmured:

"I'm not finished yet."

And then…

…sothing stirred within him.

Sothing he didn't want to use.

Sothing he should never awaken.

A black pulse ran beneath his skin.

Seraphyne felt it.

He took a single step back—the first hesitant movent he'd made since resurfacing.

Kael gripped the hilt of his sword with his blood-covered hand.

The ground beneath his feet began to crack—but not from ice.

From darkness.

Shadows erged like ancient roots.

And Kael rose slowly.

His eyes half-closed.

His breathing heavy.

The shadow taking the form of black serpents around his arms.

"I'm up," he said, his voice hoarse. "Then listen to , Seraphyne."

She paled, even though she was already as white as ice.

Kael took a step forward.

"If you think I fell…" The shadow pulsed.

"…then you truly don't understand who you're facing."

Seraphyne roared, furious.

"Shut up!"

The hall froze completely.

And the new battle began.
