Chapter 339: Well, well, don’t cry, Coco
An incomplete world of Darkness and Light. The city of the “Forgotten Fog”
In the Forgotten Fog City located in the territory of Darkness, there was an oppressive and gloomy atmosphere. Darkness enveloped every alley and street, hiding an unknown danger.
In one of the abandoned houses on the outskirts of the city, on the walls of which mysterious inscriptions were engraved, a little fox lay on a dilapidated bed. From ti to ti, she rustled the candy wrapper, trying to distract herself from her thoughts.
It has been seven days since Coco entered this gloomy world. Every day her mood worsened, and in recent days she spent most of her ti in tears.
On the second day of her stay in this world, the charge on her smartphone ran out, and she could no longer play her favorite ga, “Little Fox’s Dream.” And yesterday, the last candy she had saved for a rainy day ran out. All that remained were the wrappers she was playing with, trying to dispel her boredom.
All this ti, she was chasing after the abducted awakened ones until she reached this city. Having found a safe place, she did not leave it, fearing the sudden appearance of her Masters.
Seven days had already passed, but neither the Mistress nor the Master had co. Coco began to think that they would not co back and leave her alone in this gloomy world, without her favorite sweets and gas.
These thoughts made her quietly sob and cry.
As she waited quietly, sobbing and playing with the candy wrapper, Coco noticed a small gap in space out of the corner of her eye. And seeing this, her eyes filled with even bigger tears.
She knew exactly what it was.
The rift began to expand and soon turned into a large circular wormhole. Soon, two familiar figures ca out of it. Unable to hold back her tears, Coco jumped right towards them.
“Well, well, don’t cry, Coco, — Idan said, catching the fox, and she, burying her muzzle in his chest, did not stop crying.
Coco raised her head and looked at Idan with tears in her eyes.
His beauty was replaced by the appearance of an outstanding young man with short black hair and brown eyes, dressed in coarse black clothes.
Next to him was a beautiful woman with long black hair who seed to have a life of her own. She had eyes as dark as night, and she was dressed in an elegant black robe. Mysterious inscriptions could be seen on the exposed areas of her body, which seed to float on her skin.
Thanks to the Ghost Mask and the pendant given by Sierra, Idan completely hid his presence and closeness to the elent of light, becoming an ordinary young man without special powers for most creatures.
As for Arabel, she changed her appearance with a Ghost Mask, while using her new power gained through a bond established with a strange symbiotic being.
“Is everything okay?” asked Idan Arabel, using their ntal link.
“I feel great,” Arabel replied, looking at Idan with her dark eyes.
“Perhaps it’s due to my proximity to the elent of darkness or the connection I feel with this creature, but I feel at ho.”
“By the way, I’ve been wanting to ask you about it for a long ti. What kind of creature is this?” asked Idan.
“Well, it’s a bit of a strange creature, and I can only communicate with it through emotions. I can feel it fear, excitent, joy, and all that. In addition, it shares with its understanding of the elent of darkness, which it acquired thanks to its previous master.” After saying that, Arabel looked at her hair and the inscriptions on her body.
“You really do look a bit like an Outsider leader,” Idan remarked, examining her new look.
“Yes, that knowledge and ability were gained from her,” Arabel agreed.
“Don’t worry, Dan. It poses no danger to . On the contrary, in case of a threat, it will protect , its master. After all, it is useful for him to be with , and he perceives as its ho, where it lives,” Arabel said with a smile, noticing Idan’s concern.
“By the way, why didn’t you let Ned go?” asked Arabel. She rembered how Idan had summoned Ned in their luxury hotel room, but she no longer saw him releasing him or giving him any instructions.
Idan usually called Ned when they returned to Limbo to spend ti with Geminia. However, for so reason, Idan did not deign to summon him this ti.
“Phew, — sighed Idan, gently stroking Coco. Then he said:
“Sothing’s going on with Ned, Belle.”
“Huh?” — Arabel was surprised to hear Idan’s words.
“After my summoning, Ned fell asleep and still hasn’t woken up, he doesn’t respond to calls,” Idan confessed, and Arabel caught a note of concern in his voice. “I do not know what is happening to him. Therefore, I was afraid to summon him before Geminia and decided to wait a bit. Moreover, the System did not detect anything serious or dangerous in his condition.”
“I hope it’s sothing good, — Arabel said, and Idan nodded in agreent, sincerely hoping for the sa thing.
“Here, Coco, take this,” Idan quickly bought a new package of candies, pulled out one candy and handed it to Coco. When she saw the candy, she imdiately perked up, and her crying stopped. She quickly grabbed the candy, took off the wrapper, and happily popped it into her mouth.
Her face imdiately broke into a smile. She even took her little paws by the cheeks and began to enjoy, savoring the taste of her favorite candy.
Idan and Arabel couldn’t help but smile as they watched the little girl’s mood change quickly.
Suddenly, Coco, who was savoring the candy with pleasure, shuddered. Her ears perked up, and lifting her small head, she began to survey her surroundings. Then she quickly climbed onto Idan’s shoulder and looked in a certain direction.
Idan and Arabel, noticing Coco’s behavior, imdiately beca alert. When they saw where she was looking, they also turned their gaze there, but there was only pitch darkness.
“Woo-woo-woo, — Coco purred, pointing to the corner of the room.
Knowing about Coco’s unique ability to beco invisible to other creatures, Arabel and Idan no longer looked in her direction, but focused their attention on the place where Coco was pointing. No matter how hard Idan tried, he couldn’t see anything, but Arabel, who had an affinity for the elent of darkness and the support of a being of darkness, sensed soone’s presence.
“Co out, — Arabel said in a stern voice.
And imdiately after those words, a lone figure appeared from the corner of the room, erging from the darkness.
It was a woman with short black hair and snow-white skin, dressed all in black.
The woman who appeared glanced briefly at Idan, then stared at Arabel and, to the couple’s surprise, bowed.
“I’m sorry to bother you,” she said.
“Platinum rank!” exclaid Idan in his mind, catching the pulsating waves of power emanating from this woman.
“My na is Essora,” the woman introduced herself, and what she said after that surprised Idan and Arabel.
“I ca here on the instructions of my Mistress, Erza Twilight.”
“My Mistress wishes to et and talk with you. She invites you to visit her mansion in the city center.”
From such an unexpected invitation, Idan and Arabel did not know what to do. It hadn’t even been ten minutes since they appeared, but they had already been discovered.
There was only one question in their minds.:
“How? How did Erza discover us?”
