Chapter 463: A conversation on the way to the Stone family’s territory

“So you’re saying that we can’t get close to the Stone family’s territory?” Idan asked Arslan, sitting in the front seat of the SUV. Arslan was driving, and Irene and Arabel were in the back seat, communicating through a ntal link.

At this mont, they were driving through the streets of the capital, heading towards the exit of the city. Their target was the Stone family’s forr territory outside the city.

Hailey stayed at the inn to look after Felicia, and Aliya was returned to the staff of the Association after Arabel removed the slave collar from her neck.

And Coco was snoring softly on Idan’s shoulder.

“That day, the Stone family’s territory was completely destroyed, but due to the anomaly, the entire area around it underwent mysterious changes,” Arslan began, driving an SUV and talking about the events that took place after Idan and Arabel disappeared.

“As I ntioned earlier, almost imdiately after your disappearance, a mysterious force expelled everyone, and a strange barrier appeared around the Hill. This barrier prevented anyone from seeing what was going on inside, let alone getting inside,” Arslan continued to share information.

“Just a few hours after the event, the Association and the Federation joined forces to completely surround the family’s territory and surrounding lands, creating a Restricted Area so that no one could approach this place.”

“That’s why we can’t get closer to the barrier, right?” Now Idan, after listening to Arslan’s explanation, finally realized.

“Yes, — Arslan confird. — During this ti, the military managed to erect fences around the territory and set up constant patrols. No one is allowed inside without the permission of the Association and the Governnt of the Federation. Not only the military, but also the awakened ones from the Association and the Federation itself are serving there around the clock.”

“I wonder what they’re guarding so carefully? Perhaps they’ve managed to figure out the secret of the barrier?” Idan thought.

“And you? Weren’t you interested in this barrier?” he asked.

“I just recently arrived, I didn’t have ti,” Arslan replied. He saw the barrier only on his smartphone screen and on TV, when programs were shown with the participation of scientists who were trying to solve its mystery.

“Your sister probably has more information about it than I do,” he added.

“I see,” Idan nodded, and then, using their ntal link, decided to ask about their relationship. “Speaking of my sister. How is your relationship going?”

“Well, more or less,” Arslan said with a wry smile. “Your sister is mad at and still hasn’t forgiven .”

“And why is she mad at you?” asked Idan.

“After the birth of our son, Irene completely imrsed herself in her role as the guild leader, which she had neglected during the last months of her pregnancy, and in taking care of her newborn son. And instead of being by her side and helping her, on the contrary, I distanced myself, plunging into the role of the leader of my guild, trying to divert the curiosity of my family.”

Arslan sighed softly, realizing that the fragile intimacy they had quickly collapsed, and they began to move away from each other.

“If I showed up too often and stayed with Irene for a long ti, the family would start to suspect. Especially since Irene hasn’t been out for a long ti in recent months.” Arslan now regretted what he had done. He needed to fight for it, not be afraid that his family would find out about everything.

Arslan thought he was doing this for Irene’s sake, because she didn’t love his family. But in fact, he himself was afraid that his family would find out about their relationship.

“Your sister had a hard ti after giving birth, and I wasn’t around at the ti, so you have to understand how it affected her.”

Idan listened attentively, neither nodding nor saying a word. He was also going to discuss the issue of Milena, but in the end decided not to do it yet.

While Arslan and Idan were chatting, Arabel and Irene weren’t silent in the back seat either.

“Irene, will you have so free ti one of these days?” Arabel asked, overcoming the slight fear that still remained towards Irene.

“Well, if you don’t take Bera, then yes, I will have ti. Why?” replied Irene, as if hinting to Arabel not to take Bera away yet.

“I’ve noticed that Bera has beco very attached to Aran, haven’t I?” asked Arabel.

“Yes, she beca almost his shadow. Wherever he is moved, she is always there and does not take her eyes off him. And when you need sothing, she’s always ready to help.” Irene not only confird, but also sincerely praised Bera.

“I’ve gotten so used to Bera’s help these days that I started to envy you for having her,” Irene confessed, a little embarrassed. But then, pulling herself together, she decided to voice her wish. “Tell , Arabel, is there any way I can make a contract with a creature like Bera?”

Arabel listened to Irene’s wish with a smile. If she were in her place, she would also dream of such a useful being as a Perfect Doppelganger.

“Of course, you can, Irene,” Arabel replied without a shadow of doubt. They already had guides on the Path of the Beast Tar and soul crystals that could help Irene and the others in taming the beasts.

However, the main problem now was finding a way to help Irene enter Limbo. If their spatial storage hadn’t been destroyed, they could have easily taken Irene and Arslan to Limbo and introduced them to all the inhabitants and even helped ta the Perfect Doppelgangers for each of them.

“But not now, — Arabel added.

It was enough for Irene to feel joy.

“I’ll wait,” she said.

“Now, will you tell what you need from ?”

“Oh that’s…” — Arabel was confused, realizing that she had been distracted from her main question. “I want to go shopping one of these days to buy sothing, and I need soone to keep company.”

“Oh, that’s what it’s for,” Irene said. “And my brother? Why can’t he keep you company? Wouldn’t it be romantic to go with him?”

“I want to buy so won’s clothes and I don’t want Dan to see them,” Arabel said softly.

“Oh, okay, okay, I’ll keep you company,” Irene was happy to accompany Arabel, because she was her potential future sister-in-law, and she wanted to learn more about her from herself, and not just from Arslan’s words.

While talking, they did not notice how a huge gray opaque barrier appeared in front of them far away.
