The Lover’s Seal

"I know, Leon. That’s why I never pleaded with you to remain. But." She paused, the sound of her voice weakening into sothing delicate. "Promise this."

"Anything," he replied in an instant, his gold eyes riveted on hers.

"Return to ," she whispered. "Return and carry out of here. Make yours—not in darkness, not in stolen hours—but in the daylight, where the world sees I belong to you.

A gentle smile brushed Leon’s lips, warm and craving devotion. He bent and kissed her—slowly, savoringly—as if marking his promise with breath and flesh.

"I promise," he breathed against her lips, "before you know it... I’ll co back and get you out of this golden cage. And when I do, there won’t be one person left who would dare wonder who you belong to."

She smiled, her eyes shining with tears and radiance, leaning into him forehead to forehead. "I love you, Leon."

His hands wrapped softly around her hair as he smiled in return. "I love you too, my Queen."

Their lips clung again—this ti harder, fuller of need. Neither was willing to release the other. But ti, hard and relentless, would not stand still for love.

Finally, Leon pulled back, their breaths entwining as he laid his forehead softly against hers.

"Now," Leon said with a crooked grin, mischief flickering in his golden eyes, "let get dressed. Send off with a smile, will you?"

Sona let out a soft, tear-laced laugh, her lips curving despite the ache in her chest. "Fine," she murmured, her fingers still resting lightly on his bare chest. "But only if you promise not to vanish too long."

They lingered there in that final mont of intimacy before increntally uncoupling, the heat of their bodies seeping away as they stood up from the bed. The blanket was bunched at their feet, leaving the nudity of their bodies exposed to the low amber light. Their clothes were strewn about them—surreptitious evidence of a lost night spent in each other’s company, where control had no room.

Leon stooped and retrieved his black-and-gold robe, the comforting weight landing over his shoulders as he cinched the sash tight with experienced ease. Sona glided silently, picking up her silk nightgown from the ground and pulling it on over her figure, the silky material rustling across her skin as it settled.

When they turned to confront each other once more, there was this new stillness between them—not space, but a quiet respect for what they’d just said.

Without a word, Leon lifted his hand and snapped his fingers.

A soothing, blue-green glow hovered into being around them. It washed over them like a wind caressed by spring showers—purifying, reassuring. The air in the room changed, heavy now with the sweet aroma of roses and new wind.

The perspiration, the warmth, the lingering echoes of delight dissolved. They were smooth-skinned once more, their hair sleek as if just brushed, the glow of their ardour now only a subtle heat below the surface. At the back of them, the rumpled sheets stretched out and smoothed themselves, the room smoothing itself into tranquil perfection—as if nothing had occurred, and yet... everything had.

Sona shifted her head, arching her arms in a soft sigh, speaking almost below her breath. "Thank you, darling."

Leon’s sneer reappeared—gentle, knowing, tinged with soft confidence. "My pleasure."

Sona remained silent, but the flush in her cheeks gave her away. The Cleanse Spell, like most won of noble heritage, was sothing she knew. It was a common hygiene spell—learned alongside etiquette and courtly charm. After nights such as these... it was practically second nature.

But as the magic faded from the air, sothing about Leon’s expression changed.

His eyes blinked once. And then again, slowly.

Sothing snapped in his head—like a recollection bubbling up from a bottomless well.

Yesterday...

As I made love to Nova... the system gifted with sothing new.

’Lover’s Seal.’

A special skill. Not a normal spell, not even sothing in this world. In Galvia, the concept of long-distance psychic communication was nothing but legend—an ancient mythoid told around temples and children’s books. Even mages with oceans of power couldn’t send thoughts across provinces.

But that talent. it defied that rule.

He could talk to his won. Wherever. Whenever.

His eyes road to Sona, still snuggled beside him, her blue eyes calmly observing. She cocked her head, a small furrow between brows.

He wasn’t talking—but sothing was evidently on his mind.

She didn’t press. Perhaps she had thought that it was regarding the war. The march. The responsibility he bore as Duke.

But Leon’s mind had already wandered sowhere else—sowhere much more personal.

Let’s try this...

He scrunched his eyes closed, focusing the thought inward.

"Hey, system. you around?"

[Ding!

[Yes, host. I am here."]

Good." Leon’s tone fell a notch, his mind already in motion. "Do you recall yesterday? You taught sothing—Lover’s Seal. You said I could use it to talk to my wives, regardless of distance.

[Correct, Host.]

[It enables two-way ntal dialogue between you and the person bonded by the skill, anywhere. It is without peer in this world. You can open communication with any bonded lover.]

So how do I use it?

[Lean your forehead against your wife’s. Concentrate your mana on the point of contact. She must as well.].

When your mana signatures et, I will seal the tie and create a permanent telepathic connection.

Then you can talk freely—wherever you are.

Leon nodded. "I see. Thank you."

[Anyti, host.]

With the system’s voice vanishing from his mind, Leon blinked back into reality. Sona still stood in front of him, her eyes gentle and inquiring.

A second ago, he’d been grinning. Now, sothing was different in his face—softer, faraway, as if he’d been hearing sothing only he could hear.

But she didn’t question. She just stood there, waiting, trusting.

Leon moved closer to her, speaking softly and filled with aning. "My love," he whispered, "I want to do sothing. Will you trust ?"

Sona didn’t even flicker an eyelash. "Always," she answered without hesitation.

Leon smile on her words. Then, he put out his hand, his fingers tracing her cheek with gentle familiarity, before leaning forward and touched his forehead gently to hers forehead. The proximity coaxed a tiny breath from the edge of her lips, but she didn’t flinch.

"Close your eyes," he whispered. "And concentrate your mana... right here."

She complied, fingers lying lightly on his chest, eyes fluttering shut.

Their auras awakened—gentle threads of energy interlacing into each other. A soft pulse glowed between their foreheads, golden and warm. As if a heartbeat between two hearts.

And then... sothing snapped.

The space between them changed, humming softly. A connection was created—not of feeling, but of being. Magic sewn together by faith.

Even oceans or war should co between them... they would never be far again.

No more.
