"Hey!" Su Yang couldn't help shouting, "Can you send Qi'er out first? She's of no use staying in there, and as for the Golden Phoenix and the Three-legged Colorful Crow, those two eat without end. Keeping them around just wastes food!"
No one answered, the main hall was shut tight, and nobody was paying attention to Su Yang.
Su Yang shouted a few more tis outside, but it was the sa result—no response at all, as if the people inside were completely ignoring him.
Su Yang stood to the side, bewildered, wondering what the heck was going on.
The three Crystal Skulls, anwhile, helped each other up. These three guys had been really tornted this ti. Seeing Su Yang standing there so out of sorts, the Second City Lord waved his hand, "Alright, you can stop shouting. Can't you see it yet? Those folks inside are just bullies and bandits. Do you think they'll listen to reason? Do you think everyone in this world is as easygoing as the three of us? Even we, being such good people, got tornted like that. Do you think those guys are any good?"
Su Yang glared at the Second City Lord in indignation, "You still have the nerve to speak! If it weren't for you three, I might have brought her out already!"
"What the heck are you talking about? What's that supposed to an?" the Second City Lord retorted imdiately. "What do you an if it weren't for the three of us, you'd have brought her out already? We went in to help you, okay? If it weren't for helping you, we wouldn't have gone into that wretched place at all. Damn it, look at this, you can see the cracks on my bones as white as snow. Is this sothing a person would do?"
"Stop babbling!" Su Yang retorted directly. "Did I tell you to go in there? Besides, did you really help inside? The light in that main hall sucked you in, what does that have to do with ? And after going in, what did you do apart from holding back and causing trouble? Help ? You were just ddling, weren't you?"
The Second City Lord was left speechless, staring for a long ti before responding indignantly, "So, according to you, us going in with you was wrong? I don't get it—we went in, didn't help much, but ddling? That I can't accept."
"How did we ddle? We didn't even climb up that tree! We didn't know what was happening up there; it was all you causing a stir up there. What does that have to do with us? We went in fine and got tied up and whipped; what did we do to deserve that? How did we ddle?"
"Oh, back at the Spirit Liquid Lake, those vines whipped us and tossed you into the Spirit Liquid Lake without bothering you. Why? Just because we're skeletons, and you've got so extra flesh, they beat us up instead of you? Why?"
"And you say we caused a stir? But didn't you do anything yourself? At the Spirit Liquid Lake, how many bottles of Spirit Liquid did you secretly fill? Your Space Artifact couldn't even hold it all, right? So you see, our stir wasn't a big deal; they didn't punish you for it. But those vines just hung us up and beat us—why? Isn't it because we have no flesh?"
As the Second City Lord spoke, the flas in his eye sockets flickered. It looked like if this guy had flesh, he'd be tearing up—clearly playing the victim of discrimination and bullying.
Su Yang was speechless, not expecting his activities at the Spirit Liquid Lake to be discovered by this guy.
What the Second City Lord said was true. After Su Yang was thrown into the Spirit Liquid Lake by those vines, seeing them continuously whipping the three Crystal Skulls, he had nothing else to do but secretly take out so Space Artifacts to store the Spirit Liquid.
The Spirit Liquid in that lake was much more potent than ordinary Spirit Liquid. Not to collect so would be a waste.
Originally, Su Yang hesitated, fearing he might anger the owner of the Feather Spirit Palace, but now it seed that the Palace owner had no intention of reasoning with him. So Su Yang decided to act. He even wanted to see if his actions would anger the Palace owner, giving him a chance to persuade them to release Qi'er.
Surprisingly, there was no reaction from the Palace owner, and Su Yang indeed collected a fair amount of Spirit Liquid.
But, how did the Second City Lord notice his secret actions?
"You saw collecting the Spirit Liquid?" Su Yang asked in surprise.
"Of course!" the Second City Lord said, "The water level of the Spirit Liquid Lake went down. Even a blind man could see it. How could I not notice? Didn't you realize it yourself?"
Su Yang was dumbfounded. It couldn't be that exaggerated, could it? He did collect a lot, but the water level dropping...
"What now? Speechless, eh? Do you still have the face to bla us for everything?" the Second City Lord retorted indignantly.
Su Yang suddenly realized, widening his eyes, "Damn, who's saying anything about that? Collecting Spirit Liquid was my business; what's it got to do with you? And about that discrimination issue, it doesn't hold up. Don't you know what you did?"
"What did we do?" the Second City Lord asked indignantly.
"Hmph!" Su Yang glared at him and suddenly pointed to the small gourd atop his head, "How did this little gourd co about?"
One question plunged the three Crystal Skulls into silence, as if they suddenly rembered sothing or a flash of realization crossed their minds.
After a while of staring at each other, the Second City Lord whispered, "I... I feel like sothing's not quite right..."
The Great City Lord and the Third City Lord nodded simultaneously, the Third City Lord murmuring, "I thought those vines looked familiar. Could they be our old friends?"
"Nonsense, which old friend would catch you and whip you?" the Second City Lord whispered, "Could it be soone we offended?"
The Great City Lord remained silent. Although they seed to rember sothing, they couldn't recall the details—after all, they were long dead. The remaining mories were just the instinctive awareness left in their bones.
"Still can't think of it?" Su Yang glared and said, "Those three gourds of yours were stolen from those vines! Have you forgotten? You think they wouldn't co after you for stealing their stuff?"
"Ah?" The three Crystal Skulls exclaid in unison, the Second City Lord saying, "No way! How could us three be so honest and simple-minded, and do such theft?"
