Chapter 1689: Chapter 1890: Show of Force!!!

Under these circumstances, if Ma Jingxuan hadn’t provoked him, Hao Jian wouldn’t have wanted to get involved. After all, while he wasn’t afraid of trouble, he also didn’t want to be embroiled in it every day.

But now the problem was that Liang Yuwei had already spoken to him about this, which indicated she wanted Hao Jian to drive Ma Jingxuan away. So, Hao Jian wasn’t going to stand idly by.

A woman’s words are a command; at this mont, Liang Yuwei’s intention was what he needed to accomplish.

However, before he could speak to Ma Jingxuan, the latter shifted the topic to Hao Jian while talking to Liang Youzhen, asking with a smile, “Uncle, I’ve known Yuwei since we were kids, and I know most of her friends. But who is this?”

Liang Youzhen was overjoyed to see his nephew again after so long, so much so that he montarily forgot about the presence of Liang Yuwei and Hao Jian. It wasn’t until Ma Jingxuan ntioned them that he rembered.

He was about to introduce Hao Jian and Liang Yuwei to Ma Jingxuan and explain the situation, but Hao Jian spoke up first.

Ma Jingxuan’s words clearly ant, “I’ve known Yuwei for a long ti, you’d better know your place and get lost.”

If it were anyone else, they might have been scared off by his “innate conditions,” but he happened to run into Hao Jian. Was Hao Jian soone who could be easily scared off? He was never one to back down!

So he preemptively introduced himself before Liang Youzhen could say anything: “Let introduce myself first. I’m Yuwei’s boyfriend. I heard she said the two of you have known each other since childhood, so now you’re here, Yuwei and I will make sure to take good care of you.”

Hao Jian made it clear: “You ntioned that you and Yuwei have known each other since childhood, trying to scare off, but I’m putting our relationship out in the open. You’re here, and Yuwei and I will take care of you together,” directly stating he is Liang Yuwei’s boyfriend.

Hao Jian’s words were actually ant for Ma Jingxuan to hear, letting him know he wasn’t soone to ss with, while also showing his stance and attitude.

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Ma Jingxuan’s face turned unpleasant. The only reason he ca to Hua City was for Liang Yuwei. Otherwise, why else would he co to Hua City for no reason?

He hadn’t expected that upon eting Liang Yuwei, she would still put on such a front and give him the cold shoulder, making him furious when he saw Hao Jian at the police station earlier.

Seeing Liang Yuwei so intimate with another man was unbearable for him, so he had soone investigate Hao Jian right on the spot. But he was disappointed; the license plate number brought no substantial results. The search only revealed that this license plate was held in high esteem in Hua City, with no further information available.

At that mont, he was sowhat shocked and began to doubt Hao Jian’s identity.

But when he suddenly heard Hao Jian say he was Liang Yuwei’s boyfriend, his expression flickered with surprise and anger. From a young age, he had been pursuing Liang Yuwei, and most boys who tried to chase her off were scared off by him. He knew Liang Yuwei had never accepted anyone or dated.

But why is it that after just over a year since they last t, she suddenly has a boyfriend? This was hard for him to accept. If it weren’t for Liang Youzhen being present, he would have lost his temper on the spot. However, seeing Liang Youzhen there, he managed to suppress his anger and appear calm.

As he thought, he cast a scornful glance at Hao Jian, although he tried to talk to him; instead, he turned his gaze towards Liang Youzhen.

Before he could speak, Liang Youzhen could tell what he wanted to ask. After all, Ma Jingxuan was still young, while he had seen many things in his long years, and knew exactly what Ma Jingxuan was up to with his daughter. Yet, he hadn’t pushed his daughter and this talented young man together all these years, not without reason.

Although Ma Jingxuan was capable and talented, he was also overly self-absorbed and arrogant. While he could get things done, he was poor at interpersonal relations, never considering others, and his social conduct was less than admirable.

Having watched him grow up, he understood all this thoroughly. While Ma Jingxuan was an outstanding young man, Liang Youzhen would never consider him as a son-in-law.

Even if the other party was the son of a close friend, it would still be impossible. His daughter was his life, and he wouldn’t allow feelings to destroy her future.

So he had a clear view of it all, which is why he never acknowledged his nephew’s intentions, nor did he try to match him with his daughter.

On the contrary, he looked at Hao Jian with admiration because, in terms of conduct and temperant, he had great faith in him.

Thus, he smiled at Ma Jingxuan and said, “Oh dear, how absent-minded of . I forgot to introduce you; this is our Yuwei’s boyfriend, Little Hao. You two are about the sa age, so you should get along well without needing much introduction.”

Hearing Liang Youzhen say this surprised Ma Jingxuan. Originally, he thought only the two of them knew about their relationship, but even Liang Youzhen was aware, aning they’d been together for quite so ti.

This thought sparked an unnad anger within Ma Jingxuan’s mind. He had pursued Yuwei both openly and secretly for so long, yet received no response, only for soone else to swoop in and steal the match. This made him furious.

Nevertheless, he was excellent at controlling his emotions, and none of this fury was visible on his face.

He looked at Hao Jian, suddenly smiling and walking towards him, extending his hand for a handshake, and said with a smile, “Hello, nice to et you. Please guide moving forward.”

Hao Jian pretended not to hear, allowing Ma Jingxuan’s hand to hang in the air for a while, before feigning belated realization and extending his hand. The two hands clasped together.

Hao Jian said, “This isn’t our first eting. Didn’t we already et at the police station just now?”

Liang Youzhen, hearing this, exclaid, “Oh, you two know each other already? Well, that’s good. Saves the need for introductions.”

He chuckled as he spoke.

However, the expressions on Hao Jian and Ma Jingxuan’s faces were unfriendly, both seeing each other as an enemy. Ma Jingxuan held Hao Jian’s hand; typically, a handshake lasts a few seconds, but he kept a firm grip; his hand showed no sign of letting go.

Both faces bore a smile, but internally, they were already gearing up for a confrontation.

At this point, Ma Jingxuan tightened his grip on Hao Jian’s hand, pressing down as if to make a show of strength. He thought Hao Jian’s face would change, caught off guard by pain, losing ground in the handshake.

But much to his surprise, Hao Jian remained completely unfazed, a calm and composed look not showing the slightest reaction.

Noticing Hao Jian watching him with a mischievous glint, he grinned slightly, and suddenly, Hao Jian increased the strength of his grip, holding his hand tightly.

In that instant, he realized Hao Jian’s grip was firm, and though he had tried exerting pressure, Hao Jian’s strength exceeded his, causing him more pain.

His expression soured, but he persisted, hoping to intimidate Hao Jian. Yet losing this contest of will would not just an losing face but having the tables turned on him. If that happened, he wouldn’t speak with the sa authority as before.

His face grew increasingly distressed until he heard a crisp bone crack; his hand had been gripped so tightly by Hao Jian that it misaligned.

He had to endure the pain, pretending as though nothing was wrong.

His facial expression was grim, his hand muscles were taut, and his face was flushed.

He hadn’t anticipated that, despite being a police officer, physically active with greater strength and stamina than most people, he would lose in this way.

He thought he could handle an average person, given his similar physique and frequent exercise, often nabbing criminals. How could he not handle an ordinary person?

Yet, after attempting to overpower Hao Jian, he seriously miscalculated. This wasn’t so average person; could ordinary folks possess such strength?

Unable to stand the pain, he tried to pull his hand back.

But Hao Jian wouldn’t let him retract it easily.
