Capítulo 1714: Chapter 1915: Doubts Revealed
Hao Jian smiled, surprised that Mrs. Zhu was still so stubborn. Even at this point, she outright denied everything; truly, she wouldn’t give up until she reached the Yellow River, wouldn’t shed tears until she saw the coffin.
Hao Jian smiled and said, since you want evidence, I’ll provide you with the evidence you seek.
“I never said my dicine could cure stomach issues; I was just verifying whether your tongue is pale. Mrs. Zhu, why are you in such a hurry to deny?” Hao Jian said with a smile.
“You…” Mrs. Zhu hesitated, “Stop making excuses here, swaying hearts. Old Zhu’s illness happened right after taking your dicine; otherwise, there wouldn’t have been any problem. I’m telling you, this matter is not over, and you can’t escape the responsibility!”
Hao Jian smiled, the more Mrs. Zhu said that, the more confident he felt. Once a person becos angry and ashad, they beco increasingly unable to control themselves and expose their true self.
A few days ago, Hao Jian had checked Boss Zhu’s body and found no signs of illness; such a sudden issue was almost impossible, which ans that sothing must have happened in the interim; otherwise, Boss Zhu wouldn’t be in this state.
At first, Hao Jian just made a simple guess, but Mrs. Zhu unexpectedly exposed a flaw herself, making it impossible for Hao Jian not to suspect her.
However, this was just Hao Jian’s personal thought. Even if he had guessed the answer, he wouldn’t reveal it, because without concrete evidence, no one would believe him.
Mrs. Zhu stared at Hao Jian with a gaze full of accusation, deeming Hao Jian solely responsible; Boss Zhu’s daughter, however, sided with her mother, casting her gaze towards Hao Jian.
rely words, indeed, have a hard ti convincing anyone, Hao Jian knew this well. It’s always hardest to change soone’s mind. Being an outsider, Boss Zhu’s daughter naturally preferred to believe her mother a bit more.
At this mont, Hao Jian smiled and said casually, “If that’s the case, then we’d better produce so evidence, otherwise it would be quite difficult for to clear this baseless accusation.”
He then turned his gaze toward Mrs. Zhu, saying, “May I ask, Mrs. Zhu, is the prescription I wrote still around?”
Mrs. Zhu paused, seeming to realize sothing, and then said displeasedly, “It’s still here, what of it, you think you can pull so trick?”
Hao Jian smiled, ignoring her last words; as long as he knew the prescription was still around, it was enough.
He said, “Good, if it’s still here, please, Mrs. Zhu, bring it out for everyone to have a look. I believe among us there are those who understand Traditional Chinese dicine; even with a little knowledge, they should be able to discern whether the dicines listed on that prescription are beneficial or harmful, causing multiple complications!”
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Zhu imdiately understood Hao Jian’s intention, frowned, and suddenly changed her tune: “It’s gone, I just rembered, I misspoke earlier; the prescription was gone yesterday. I put it in clothes and forgot to take it out, and it got washed away.”
Hearing this, Hao Jian rely smiled; it seed he had expected Mrs. Zhu to say that, hence he remained calm.
However, hearing this, Boss Zhu’s daughter showed signs of doubt; why did her mother say it was there earlier and suddenly change her story?
Director Wang also realized sothing, but felt awkward to voice it, so he just stood by, watching, waiting to hear what unexpected words Hao Jian might say.
Hao Jian smiled and said, “Oh, well, it doesn’t matter if it’s gone. The dicines I prescribed are quite uncommon, rarely bought, so asking around would probably remind the pharmacy owner, and they could say what dicines Boss Zhu or Mrs. Zhu bought that day!”
Hao Jian said, smiling at Mrs. Zhu, appearing to be verifying sothing.
But before he could continue, Mrs. Zhu hurriedly interjected: “I don’t rember, it’s been so long; who rembers the pharmacy’s na!”
Hearing her say this, Hao Jian laughed, starting with a smile and then laughing wholeheartedly, and looked at Mrs. Zhu with confusion, saying, “Mrs. Zhu, I haven’t even told you what I wanted to ask, why the hurry? Perhaps there’s an unspeakable secret you wish to conceal?”
Hearing this, Mrs. Zhu’s face turned even uglier, feeling uncomfortable.
She said, “You’re talking nonsense, what unspeakable secret? Don’t try to mislead and change the topic; this is all your responsibility, and you’re not going to escape it.”
Yet, this statent might have had so effect earlier, but now, hearing her words, everyone began to harbor so doubt.
After all, the last ti she said she got it wrong and the prescription was gone, that was understandable; everyone can make mistakes sotis. But the second ti, without Hao Jian even finishing his sentence or asking his question, Mrs. Zhu hurriedly claid she didn’t rember the pharmacy’s na.
This… once might be a forgiveable accident, but twice being so frantic and lost makes it almost inevitable to suspect. Coupled with Hao Jian’s final words, maybe there’s an unspeakable secret, imdiately led their thoughts to another direction!
Could there really be an unspeakable secret, otherwise, why act so frantic and anxious? Earlier, they maybe hosted the attitude that the problem lay with Hao Jian; but now, with Hao Jian’s words, their thoughts led them elsewhere.
Not personally involved, observers wouldn’t have high expectations; they took on a spectator’s posture, naturally leaning towards whoever seed more reasonable. Now, everyone’s focus shifted to Hao Jian, appearing to consider his words more plausible.
Mrs. Zhu saw this and beca furious.
Boss Zhu’s daughter was also bewildered; if earlier she thought the issue lay with Hao Jian, now she felt things might have nothing to do with him, given Hao Jian’s words seed convincing, impossible to refute.
Just as everyone was caught in doubt and thinking their own thoughts, lying rigid on the bed, Boss Zhu suddenly rasped out loudly.
The noise imdiately drew everyone’s attention, realizing once again that the primary concern should be to cure Boss Zhu’s illness.
His daughter quickly approached to hear what Boss Zhu was saying.
Only to hear Boss Zhu’s voice, very weak, unable to clearly express what he wished to convey.
“Quick… quickly let, quickly let Mr. Hao take a look at ,” Boss Zhu said with difficulty.
His daughter, upon hearing, imdiately stood up and said to Hao Jian, “Quickly see my father, cure his illness!”
Hao Jian heard and smiled faintly, thinking, earlier her attitude was so firm, how suddenly her tone softened. But he didn’t voice it; although earlier he found her distasteful, seeing her concern and filial tones towards her father left him with little to say, filial piety cos first; her sentint, at least, was genuine, which surprised him.
He then walked over, intending to sit beside the bed to examine Boss Zhu.
Yet, as he was about to sit down, Mrs. Zhu, who was standing aside, quickly ca over and stopped Hao Jian.
She firmly told her daughter, “No, you can’t let him examine your father; your father’s illness was caused by him, and if you let him treat it, your father’s condition may worsen, it certainly won’t get better.”
She then glared at Hao Jian and said, “You deceitful kid, I’m telling you, I won’t let Old Zhu be examined by you; otherwise, it’s sending Old Zhu to his death.”
Hearing this, Hao Jian just smiled, realizing he had underestimated Mrs. Zhu’s theatrical skills; in that, she’s never lost, deserving of an Oscar for her performance.
It’s laughable; unwilling to send him to the hospital, nor calling a doctor ho, nor letting Hao Jian treat him, leaving him lying helpless as his condition worsens, isn’t this sending him to his death?
Hao Jian thought but didn’t express it aloud.
But before he could speak, Boss Zhu’s daughter quickly pulled her mother aside and said, “This is father’s command; don’t ss things up, let’s discuss it after father’s illness is cured.”
Mrs. Zhu, surprised by her daughter’s attitude, said, “What’s wrong with you, siding with an outsider, don’t you want your father to get better?”
Boss Zhu’s daughter didn’t address the question but pulled her aside and signaled Hao Jian, indicating he could begin treatnt.
Hao Jian understood, smiled faintly. This is quite a show indeed, and when the truth cos out, it will be even more engaging.
Then he sat beside the bed, placing his hand on Boss Zhu’s wrist, checking his pulse.
Feeling the pulse, Hao Jian showed confusion on his face, causing the watchers further bewildernt and speculation.
Hao Jian suddenly withdrew his hand, opened Boss Zhu’s eyes, checking the color of his pupils.
