Hao Jian glanced over and instantly morized the school map posted by the roadside, noting where the teaching buildings, library, and playground were. He rembered everything clearly and deeply.
At this point, Liang Xiaohan stood aside with her arms folded, waiting for his next move as if she'd completely turned him into a full-ti nanny.
Most places were easily understood, but the office of the teaching staff wasn't clearly marked on the map. Since they needed to complete the entrance registration, it was necessary to go to the office and et with the principal and other relevant leaders. Unfortunately, the map only indicated where the office building was, but didn't specify the office's location in detail.
So, they needed to go to the office building first and search slowly. Hao Jian carried his bag and led Liang Xiaohan toward the office building.
Because it was class ti, the school's campus was large but with few people, making it seem particularly vast and desolate. If it weren't for the sound of teachers lecturing and students playing noisily in classes without teachers, it would feel quite deserted.
Following the central avenue, they walked for about four or five minutes until Hao Jian arrived in front of the office building. Using the signs outside, he found the location of the office on the third floor.
They climbed the stairs and turned a corner; Hao Jian walked in front, and Liang Xiaohan followed behind. Hao Jian had already seen the words "Office" but found the door closed. Just as his hand reached out to knock, the door suddenly swung open, and soone bumped into him.
The person opening the door didn't seem to expect soone right outside, and appeared to be in quite a hurry. As soon as the door opened, they charged out straight into Hao Jian.
"Ah!" the person cried out.
Hao Jian felt two soft things crash into his chest and quickly looked down to find the person had fallen to the ground. He imdiately recognized her; wasn't she the young woman he encountered last night?
Initially surprised and thinking he might be mistaken, after several glances, he confird it. Indeed, the girl who bumped into him was the young woman he saved last night; he certainly couldn't be wrong. Despite the dark, windy night, his keen eyesight allowed him several clear looks at her face, which he rembered distinctly from last night's events; hence it was impossible to forget.
For a mont, he was dumbfounded. To run into her the next day and moreover, within the school was unexpected.
He sensed a refreshing fragrance lingering from her collision with him—a gentle and pleasant scent, one that brings a sense of well-being and happiness—aromatic with a captivating charm.
But, that feeling was fleeting. She bumped into Hao Jian, fell, and before he could recover and help her up, she quickly and efficiently gathered her scattered papers without raising her head and rushed past him without so much as a glance.
Hao Jian looked puzzled. What's going on? How could soone just rush off after a collision without even a word? And her face seed flushed; could sothing have happened? He found it quite peculiar—last night as well, he rescued her, and she slipped away silently without a word.
Then today, they collided head-on, yet she hurriedly collected her fallen docunts and rushed away, not even raising her head or sparing him a glance.
This left Hao Jian speechless. It seed he was the only one who recognized her; she didn't realize she had bumped into the person who saved her. Considering this, Hao Jian felt sowhat aggrieved.
Liang Xiaohan clearly recognized the woman who had suddenly appeared and vanished was the sa as last night, but seeing Hao Jian's dazed expression, she imdiately felt displeased. She was very aware of the relationship between her cousin and Hao Jian, witnessing many things firsthand. How could this fickle man be so taken by a woman so soon after leaving her cousin? She couldn't let such things happen.
Therefore, displeased, she kicked Hao Jian from behind and said, "What are you looking at? Careful, I'll tell cousin."
Hao Jian turned back, rolled his eyes at Liang Xiaohan helplessly. He hadn't expected to have a ticking ti bomb right beside him. Judging by the situation, it seed he'd always be under surveillance. Choosing to ignore her, he put the previous incident behind him.
He opened the door and entered, finding a typically bald middle-aged man sitting at the desk, looking angry.
Zheng Wei, the head of Yawei Middle School's office. Hao Jian imdiately connected this to the details he'd learned, having seen his picture beforehand, recognizing him instantly. The real person matched the photo uncannily, his face alone exuding a sleazy appearance. The only difference was that he seed even sleazier in reality compared to the picture.
Zheng Wei sat at his desk, his face flushed red, seemingly having been infuriated earlier and still unable to calm down. Seeing soone entering abruptly without even a knock made him even angrier.
He waved his hand ferociously and said angrily, "Get out! Get out..."
Hao Jian paused; oh, wow, it seed he had walked right into a trap. But he had no intention of leaving; retreating now would an losing face. He planned to show this so-called office head a taste of his own dicine.
However, before he moved, Liang Xiaohan stepped forward, standing in front of Baldy Zheng Wei. She stood at the desk, grabbed their registration docunts from Hao Jian, and tossed them onto the desk in front of Zheng Wei, saying calmly, "We're here to complete the registration procedures, could you process them?"
Zheng Wei's face, initially angry, changed upon seeing Liang Xiaohan, his gaze fixed on her.
Hao Jian watched, internally mocking, old lecher; since he saw Liang Xiaohan, his eyes never left her.
Zheng Wei hesitated, perhaps realizing staring for too long could damage his image, shifted his gaze, pretending to be surprised and said, "Oh, here to register, have a seat."
Hao Jian hesitated; was this possible? Damn, old lecher proves to be one. First, he told to get out, but with Liang Xiaohan's presence, his attitude shifted completely, even changing his tone. This left Hao Jian feeling sowhat inadequate.
Then, he stepped forward to submit his registration docunts. Baldy Zheng Wei didn't reach for them, only giving Hao Jian a condescending glance and grinning ingratiatingly at Liang Xiaohan.
"A student transferring from Hua City, in that case, I'll place you in class three of grade one. The class offers a great learning environnt and excellent teaching resources. What do you think?" Zheng Wei smiled at Liang Xiaohan, evidently trying to make himself appear amiable.
Hao Jian wanted to rush forward and tear his mouth, but rationality held him back. Seeing Liang Xiaohan nod slightly; regardless of which class she was placed in, it was all the sa to her. In her previous school, Degao, hadn't she skipped classes every day? Her studies were still great, so environnts affected her minimally.
Seeing Liang Xiaohan nod, Zheng Wei wore a big smile as he stamped her registration papers and made the entries. Then, handing them back to her, he said, "It's done. Now find Li Weiwei, headteacher of class three, and report to her; she'll take care of everything."
Liang Xiaohan took the paperwork, said nothing, expression cool. Subsequently, Hao Jian stepped forward, but Zheng Wei's expression shifted, now sour-faced at Hao Jian, asking, "Why transfer? Did you get expelled for fighting?"
Hao Jian didn't respond, just smiled at him.
Zheng Wei wasn't aware Hao Jian and Liang Xiaohan were together, assuming they were individual students completing registration. Yawei Middle School being such a prestigious establishnt ant they regularly had transfer students.
Not hearing Hao Jian respond, Zheng Wei rely confird his expectations and continued, "At just a glance, you don't seem like scholarly material. Whatever connections brought you to Yawei,
no matter. Being expelled from your previous school implies we won't tolerate troublemakers. Best behave, or you'll be expelled swiftly here too, do you understand?"
Zheng Wei arrogantly lectured Hao Jian.
