At this mont, Gao Yanfei had two choices: one was to stay and face the matter, the other was to leave and ignore it.
However, for him, although it appeared as if there were two options, in reality, there was only one choice truly available.
Leaving—when he had spoken those words, who knows how many people heard them, and he even went out of his way to publicize it. Almost everyone knew about this wager; otherwise, there wouldn’t have been so many people eager to see Hao Jian’s humiliation—to see Hao Jian call Gao Yanfei "grandfather" three tis as a joke.
But staying ant facing all of this, not just calling Hao Jian "grandfather" three tis. The thought of calling Hao Jian "grandfather" three tis in front of so many people was incredibly humiliating. This ant that in the future, he would never be able to lift his head in front of Hao Jian, fleeing in sha upon seeing him.
So, in the face of Hao Jian, he would never have the chance to hold his head high again. Moreover, in the future soone seeing him might bring up the incident to mock and ridicule him, and he wouldn’t have any reason to rebuff them. Hence, whether he chose to leave or stay, the result was practically the sa—neither choice was favorable.
He was very hesitant now, unsure whether to leave or not, and Number Two and the others were just the sa, standing behind Gao Yanfei, waiting for his decision. Right now, Gao Yanfei was their mainstay; they were all waiting for his final decision.
However, just as Gao Yanfei was hesitating, feeling very conflicted in his heart, Hao Jian had already led the people from Class Three to his side. Everyone was following Hao Jian, walking over, and then surrounding them inside and out.
Looking around, Gao Yanfei found that the rest of Class Five were nowhere to be seen—not a single one, including their horoom teacher Jiang Kexin, who had been there at the beginning of the competition but was now nowhere to be found. Perhaps she felt too embarrassed and had slipped away unnoticed as soon as the competition ended.
Gao Yanfei felt disheartened, but thinking about it, it was human nature; after all, the result was out, and if she stayed she would only face embarrassnt—who would want to stay? Like him, just now, he felt the sa way. But what he needed to think about now wasn’t that.
Hao Jian had already walked up to him, stood before him, and looked directly at him.
At this mont, Hao Jian’s face was still calm, but his calmness only served to anger Gao Yanfei. Because it was with such a calm deanor that Hao Jian defeated him, humiliating him in front of everyone, Gao Yanfei found this expression of Hao Jian’s particularly detestable.
Now, Hao Jian stood in front of him with Class Three, and everyone was watching him with a look akin to waiting for entertainnt. Though he was angry, he could only show it on his face, unable to utter a word. He thought, if Hao Jian dared to humiliate him in front of so many people, he wouldn’t fear anything, since the mont he lost he had already suffered enough humiliation—at worst, he’d fight it out with Hao Jian.
Today, he’d already lost enough face, and if he was further humiliated by Hao Jian, he wouldn’t stand for it—he’d rather fight it out. He wasn’t afraid; his reputation was already tarnished, so he didn’t mind if it got worse.
Yanfei thought like this, and Number Two and the others felt the sa. If Hao Jian really wanted them to call him "grandfather" in front of so many people, they would die before doing it. If they did call him grandfather, it would be a lifelong disgrace; they’d rather be labeled as traitors than be laughed at for the rest of their lives.
While thinking like this, Hao Jian, expressionless, walked up to Gao Yanfei. Gao Yanfei was already prepared to fight as if his life depended on it. He glared fiercely at Hao Jian, angrily saying, "Get away from , or don’t bla for being rude!"
Even though he lost the competition, his confidence remained intact, and he wouldn’t let his confidence be defeated just because he lost a match—that would be a miserable way to live.
Hao Jian looked at him, clearly expecting this move, showing no surprise. But Hao Jian just laughed and said, "Oh? How exactly do you plan on being ’rude’ to ?"
At this ti, many people were watching, waiting for Gao Yanfei’s answer. They were curious about how Gao Yanfei would respond and what Hao Jian would do to follow up.
No matter how firm one’s character was, even Gao Yanfei was struggling to withstand the psychological pressure with so many eyes on him. Though he was used to being watched, being stared at with such strange eyes made him uncomfortable—he preferred admiration, not the judgental look of an interrogation.
Hao Jian smiled and suddenly waved his hands, turning around and saying, "Let’s go!"
Hao Jian’s words were crisp, without a trace of dragging, and though his voice wasn’t loud, everyone heard it clearly.
What? He just let them leave like that! No way! Everyone thought they heard wrong, but when they saw those around them looking surprised at Hao Jian, they realized they hadn’t misheard. Subsequently, they all looked at Hao Jian with surprised expressions.
Everyone understood that if Hao Jian had lost, Gao Yanfei and his team would have surely humiliated them; they wouldn’t have let them go just like that. Moreover, if Hao Jian had called them "grandfather" three tis on the spot, who knows how they would be humiliated; it doesn’t take much imagination to know it would be relentless.
But Hao Jian won, yet treated Gao Yanfei and his team completely differently. Unexpectedly, when everyone thought Hao Jian was moving toward Gao Yanfei to humiliate him, Hao Jian said sothing they didn’t expect—he let them leave.
People thought they must have heard wrong. It was impossible. After winning a hard-fought match, how could he let Gao Yanfei and his team go so easily? This was akin to letting a tiger return to the mountain—if their spirit wasn’t crushed now, they’d surely co back to cause trouble again.
Listening, Gao Yanfei clearly felt it was impossible. At first, he thought he misheard; later, he thought Hao Jian misspoke. How could he let them go so easily? He’s never been kind to Hao Jian, always humiliating him when he had the chance, how could Hao Jian be kind to him?
Hao Jian watched their expressions, naturally knowing what they were thinking, so he smiled, explaining: "Go on, why stand here lost? Unless you truly want to call ’grandfather’ three tis?"
With Hao Jian’s words, those nearby understood. It seed Hao Jian genuinely didn’t want to trouble Gao Yanfei and his team, indeed letting them leave. But what they didn’t understand was why Hao Jian so easily let them go.
Upon hearing this, Gao Yanfei was still a bit stunned, feeling it was sowhat unbelievable, though he was slightly angry about Hao Jian’s last words.
Imdiately, without saying much, he turned and walked away with a ferocious deanor. Number Two and the others hesitated for a mont but saw Hao Jian not stopping Gao Yanfei, so they quickly followed suit and left. A group of people departed imdiately.
Seeing this, everyone was shocked again. Hao Jian truly let Gao Yanfei and his team leave without difficulty and quite easily. Comparing, if Gao Yanfei had won, the outco would be predictable, but Hao Jian was so magnanimous.
Suddenly, their opinions of Hao Jian were once again heightened. Knowing that when the match started, Gao Yanfei knew no bounds in mocking Hao Jian, widely announcing how Hao Jian and Class Three would lose face after the match. However, when Hao Jian won, he effortlessly let Gao Yanfei and his team go, without troubling them, without making them call "grandfather" even once, despite losing the bet.
Instantly, the entire place was in an uproar again. They thought Hao Jian was incredibly noble, treating people too well.
For a mont, Hao Jian’s na spread all over the basketball court again. But Hao Jian had no desire to deal with any of this. He had long since experienced all this glory and shine; what he wanted now was simply peace. He didn’t care at all about the empty attention.
Thus, he quickly walked through the crowd’s gaze, heading swiftly toward the teaching building, aiming for Class Three’s area. The people of Class Three followed behind Hao Jian, silently walking.
The whole crowd watched in surprise. If it had been Gao Yanfei who won, he certainly would stand here, basking in the mont’s glory. Yet with Hao Jian, he couldn’t wait to leave.
Watching Hao Jian’s departing figure, Yawei Middle School’s social circles once more buzzed because of Hao Jian.
Hao Jian’s na had always dominated the popularity at Yawen since he arrived, remaining so. But today, once again, it has exploded at Yawei Middle School.
Though it wasn’t in a conventional form, it was in the form of countless new fans flooding Yawen.
