Chapter 919: Chapter 918: Welco to My Turf!

“Brother Jin… you’ve hit the wrong person!”

Feng Jin’s strike showed no rcy. The stick landed solidly on Sun Hongyuan’s shoulder, imdiately causing his eyes to turn blood-red…

“Damn it! Kid, you still dare to dodge?!”

Seeing that he had hit the wrong person, Feng Jin was furious. He quickly raised the stick again, pointed it at Hao Jian, and roared angrily while hurriedly helping Sun Hongyuan up with one hand.

No matter how you look at it, Hao Jian letting go of his hold could be considered a step forward. Now that Sun Hongyuan was saved, they could pour all the bla on Hao Jian without restraint!

Hao Jian shrugged and let out a mocking laugh. “What? Should I stand there and stupidly stretch out my hand for you to hit? Haha! You’ve lived so many years, and yet you can still say sothing so brainless!”

“You… Fine… Fine! Since you have insulted us guards like this, we can only invite you to our security office!” Feng Jin was trembling with anger from Hao Jian’s words. His hand gripping the stick shook uncontrollably as he scanned the onlookers, who were keeping their distance yet still watching attentively, with a cold snort.

Behind him, Sun Hongyuan—who hadn’t yet recovered from Feng Jin’s earlier blow—saw Feng Jin’s suggestion and instantly brightened up. His gaze darted past Feng Jin to Hao Jian, his lips curling into a sinister grin, revealing his stark white teeth as he let out a cold laugh.

As long as they dragged Hao Jian into the security office, even the truth could be twisted into lies. They had done this countless tis before and were well-versed in such manipulations.

“The right or wrong of the situation can be clarified with a simple search, and not just you—this guy too will have to undergo inspection!” Feng Jin glanced at Hao Jian and then at Sun Hongyuan behind him, extending his stick to point at Hao Jian. His voice was low and threatening as he said, “If you don’t cooperate, then it proves you’re the thief who stole his phone.”

“Do you think you have that kind of authority?”

Already aware that the two n were in cahoots, Hao Jian sneered coldly, shaking his head slightly as his gaze brimd with mockery.

After this statent, Hao Jian reached out to hold Wen Lan and Shu Ya’s hands and calmly walked toward the conspicuous security office outside the market, casually saying, “You truly don’t have that authority. But this ti, I’m willing to visit your so-called security office, and personally conduct searches—to see if the real thieves are you two instead.”

Hao Jian disliked the prying gazes from the onlookers and especially the fiery stares directed at Shu Ya and Wen Lan, which he found intolerable.

Moreover, considering the current situation, if things weren’t clarified or resolved quickly, he wouldn’t have enough ti to prepare dinner. To keep up with his schedule, he needed to wrap this matter up promptly…

With so many people around, it wasn’t suitable for him to openly display his strengths. But in the security office—it would be a different story. A little pressure there would be all he needed to deal with both of them. Why bother staying here, being surrounded and dragged into a pointless argunt?

Hao Jian had no interest in wasting such efforts, nor in stooping so low…

“Hmph! Once you step into my office, I’ll see if your arrogance still holds up!”

Hao Jian’s earlier, untraceable way of evading Feng Jin’s grab had puzzled him, making Feng Jin hesitantly wary. After all, in this market, no one had ever dared to disrespect him. But when it ca to actual fighting, well—that wasn’t his strong suit.

As the market’s security guard for years, the abundant free food from the rchants had caused him to grow sluggish. His strength hadn’t improved, but his body had beco increasingly feeble…

These days, even Sun Hongyuan could overpower him in a fight, let alone soone like Hao Jian, who easily subdued Sun Hongyuan earlier. Feng Jin had no intention of being embarrassed in public. Besides, once inside the security office, he could always find an excuse to make a move on the two won.

Although inviting them to a room might not be feasible, groping under the guise of a search wasn’t out of the question. He just needed to deal with this man first.

After all, the security office housed plenty of tools—including a concealed replica gun Feng Jin had hidden for desperate monts. If the situation called for it, he wouldn’t hesitate to use it.

With such backup options available to him, Feng Jin wasn’t afraid of whatever tricks Hao Jian might have. His mind was busy plotting how to lure Hao Jian into the security office, though he hadn’t expected Hao Jian to agree so readily. Subsequently, Feng Jin smiled coldly and followed Hao Jian closely while keeping a watchful eye on him to prevent any escape attempts.

Behind him, Sun Hongyuan kept his hostile gaze locked on Hao Jian, his expression both smug and venomous. Hao Jian had humiliated him in front of Feng Jin earlier—he wouldn’t forget this slight!

Sun Hongyuan had already decided that once Hao Jian entered the security office, he’d teach him a thorough lesson. He was well aware of all the hidden weapons Feng Jin had stored—several waterlon knives, for instance.

Although he didn’t know about the replica gun, Sun Hongyuan was confident that even if Hao Jian was skilled, no one could face a few sharp waterlon knives without fear!

The saying “No matter how skilled you are in martial arts, you can’t beat a kitchen knife” wasn’t just empty talk!

And as for those waterlon knives, Feng Jin had taken them from fruit shops around the market when they sent over whole lons. Although such occurrences were rare, they did happen occasionally.

Feng Jin’s reputation in the market, however, wasn’t exactly stellar. Half the rchants despised him or held grudges, but no one dared call him out due to his status as the local hegemon. Any dissent was limited to whispers behind his back, never said openly.

That’s precisely why the crowd always scattered in fear whenever Feng Jin approached…

Many people didn’t even want to visit this market because of Feng Jin’s presence. Yet, Hua City’s largest market—with the best ingredients and widest selection—naturally attracted visitors from all over the region.

The profits kept rchants tied to the place, and out-of-town buyers were often unaware of Feng Jin’s reputation. On top of it all, Feng Jin rarely ventured outside his security office on regular days without cause.

Stable custor flow and high profits—factors that cented the rchants’ reluctance to leave this market.

“Bang!”

When Hao Jian led the two won into the security office, the sound of the door locking echoed behind him. Looking back, Feng Jin grinned while pressing down the lock on the door.

Calling it a security office felt like an exaggeration—it was practically a hall. The space spanned over a hundred square ters, akin to a small residence, despite being rely a security office…

This was yet another perk of being the local hegemon—living comfortably while indulging luxuriously. It also revealed just how much corruption Feng Jin had engaged in over the years.

How could a re security guard afford to claim such a vast area as his office? No matter how you looked at it, Feng Jin clearly had underhanded ans.

“A security office? This kind of place qualifies as one?”

Hao Jian, now on Feng Jin’s turf, clearly didn’t care about decorum. As soon as he heard the door lock click shut, he scanned the surroundings and let out a cold laugh.

“The location isn’t important. What matters, kid, is that you’re now standing on Brother Jin’s territory!” Feng Jin hadn’t even spoken when Sun Hongyuan cracked his knuckles loudly, flashing a sinister grin at Hao Jian. “I can’t tell if you’re brave or just stupid!”

“You knew I was Brother Jin’s partner, yet you still dare step into the lion’s den?!”

“Such a small, lousy place—calling it a ‘den of dragons and tigers’?!” Hao Jian smirked at Sun Hongyuan’s arrogant words, his tone dripping with disdain.

If this cramped security office was what they called a dangerous den, then what about the truly perilous places that once nearly claid his life? Should they be referred to as Hell?

“You’ll experience whether it’s a lion’s den soon enough!” Sun Hongyuan wanted to retort, but Feng Jin held a hand up to stop him. Feng Jin’s gaze lingered on Wen Lan and Shu Ya, igniting a lecherous, uncontrollable heat in his eyes. Smirking salaciously, he turned his attention back to Hao Jian, saying coldly, “He accused you of stealing his phone, and you accused him of stealing yours. Now that we’re here, is your story still the sa?”

His tone bristled with nace, as if one wrong word from Hao Jian would provoke imdiate retaliation.

“Hand over my phone! You stole it, and now you dare accuse ?!” Before Hao Jian could respond, Sun Hongyuan stepped forward, glaring smugly at Hao Jian with a twisted grin.

Sun Hongyuan had indeed lusted after Wen Lan and Shu Ya’s beauty before, but he knew their turn belonged to Feng Jin first. Only after Feng Jin was satisfied would he possibly get his chance…

Yet beauty mattered less to him than the grudge against Hao Jian—this guy had cost him imnse pain earlier. At the crowded market, his lack of strength had left him no chance to retaliate.

Now, with Hao Jian voluntarily entering Feng Jin’s territory, this golden opportunity was sothing he wouldn’t waste!

“That phone is definitely with you! If you hand it over and admit your wrongdoing, we might let you off with just a few bruises. Plus, if the two beauties behind you serve Brother Jin well, then this matter can blow over smoothly!”
