Chapter 970: Chapter 969: Don’t Think You’ve Won…

“Sir, we’ll give you face today and not hold this guy accountable. But could you please play that previous piece again? Such an incredibly beautiful song—us simple folks can’t be satisfied hearing it just once…”

Hearing Hao Jian’s words, the group of burly n stopped what they were doing. Among them were fitness enthusiasts, gym instructors, and a few trained in martial arts. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so well-built…

But once they stopped moving, a big muscular man seized the opportunity to ask Hao Jian eagerly, his face full of anticipation. It was evident how much he hoped Hao Jian would agree to his request.

It wasn’t just him, either. All his companions around him wore the sa expression of hope. And in the audience seating, countless spectators shared the sa sentint—they, too, wished Hao Jian would play it once more…

This kind of music—so wondrous, so heavenly—was sothing they were hearing for the very first ti in their lives. It transported each of them into a dreamscape of resonance. If they could hear it again, they’d die with no regrets!

“Haha, everyone, this piece was originally composed for my woman. So I’ll only perform it this once—after all, I’m not a professional in this field…”

Faced with their request, Hao Jian could only refuse. Not just because the piece he composed for Ye Linglan was only ant to be played once in front of others, but also because he wasn’t in the mood to perform it today. That was the primary reason.

If he were in the mood, and if Ye Linglan nodded, he’d eagerly play it again. Alas, Ye Linglan could tell Hao Jian wasn’t quite in the mood today, so she didn’t push it. Instead, she just held onto his arm, her face adorned with a sweet smile, resting her cheek against his shoulder in quiet support.

“Alright then…”

Hearing Hao Jian’s response, disappointnt and regret washed over everyone’s faces. However, upon a mont’s reflection, they understood. Music this extraordinary—sothing so otherworldly—if played too often, wouldn’t it end up as commonplace as a street kiosk?

“But while I’m not in this line of work, my woman is. If you want to hear it in the future, you can follow Lanlan. After all, I’ll be teaching her this piece—not just this one, but many more in the future…”

Disappointnt often gives way to hope. Now, Hao Jian’s words were like a lifeline to the five thousand audience mbers present, worth more than life itself!

After a brief mont of stunned silence, the crowd erupted into cheers of excitent. Thunderous applause filled the venue as shouts echoed endlessly. The intensity of this mont surpassed anything from earlier in the performance—sothing Hao Jian had just dropped was a true bombshell!

The sheer beauty and magic of Hao Jian’s music were beyond words. And now, the thought that there would be many more pieces like this in the future left them beyond thrilled.

“Thank you, Sir!”

The group of over ten burly n, upon hearing Hao Jian’s words, beca visibly emotional. They promptly bowed their heads and bent their waists in gratitude, showing utmost respect to Hao Jian.

“Haha, alright, thank Lanlan instead. After all, I’m not the one performing…”

Seeing this, Hao Jian shook his head and waved his hand, gently patting the shoulder of the man in front, helping him back upright. Then he joked with a chuckle, “If you’re going to bow, it’s not to , alright?”

After saying this, Hao Jian turned his head, his gaze softening with deep affection. He chuckled softly and said, “Don’t you think I’ve hogged the spotlight a bit too much today?”

“More than just a bit! Can’t you see how these people are staring at ? And yet, you’re shaless enough to leave this whole burden on my shoulders. Those songs of yours—even just learning one is hard enough, and now you’re saying there’ll be more…” Ye Linglan pouted. Though her words carried complaints, there wasn’t a trace of resentnt—only an overwhelming sweetness.

Since Hao Jian had promised to give her his music, she knew she had to work hard to bring out her full potential. After all, Hao Jian’s compositions were beyond the reach of ordinary people. Every piece he wrote was challenging enough to earn a place on the world’s most difficult music rankings…

But she did have one secret weapon, and that was Hao Jian himself. With the composer at her side, as long as she studied seriously, she was confident she could eventually master them.

“Hehe, don’t worry. I’m here!”

Hao Jian fully grasped the aning behind Ye Linglan’s words. He laughed, his tone light as he continued, “But let’s hold off on going back for now. Since I’ve already stolen the spotlight today, a little more won’t hurt. This way, I can help you rid yourself of that annoyance Yan Ming…”

In Hao Jian’s mind, if Yan Ming embarrassed himself enough today, he wouldn’t dare pester Ye Linglan any longer. After all, who would shalessly stand before the person they like after losing so much face?

“I think you’re just using as an excuse to deal with him for yourself.” Hearing this, Ye Linglan couldn’t help but shoot Hao Jian a playful glare. This guy always enjoyed making remarks like that…

“Heh, don’t expose , or I’ll be embarrassed…”

“Go on, hurry up…”

Ye Linglan playfully huffed.

“Ladies and gentlen!”

With a bold step forward, Hao Jian strode to the front of the stage, lifted the microphone, and spoke in a calm and commanding tone. Instantly, all eyes in the room turned toward him.

After casting a glance at Yan Ming, who was panting on the floor, Hao Jian’s lips curled into a small smile. Then, addressing the audience, he raised his voice, “I just have one question for everyone. Do you all still support Yan Ming?!”

A celebrity can only maintain their position in the industry with the wholehearted support of a strong fan base. Without it, they’re like a rootless weed adrift in the wind, destined to fade out and leave silently…

In this mont, Hao Jian aid to scatter all those who supported Yan Ming, effectively destroying his career. If Yan Ming wanted to survive, he’d have to rely solely on his skills to earn a living—and leave this industry.

“…”

As Hao Jian’s question echoed, the room fell into complete and utter silence. Not a single person made a sound—they simply stared at Hao Jian on stage. Yet their eyes betrayed their true feelings: they no longer supported Yan Ming!

“Done!”

Seeing the audience’s silence, Hao Jian nodded slightly, turned to glance at Ye Linglan, and smiled faintly. He could see the answer he desired in their eyes.

At this mont, the aura Hao Jian exuded deeply captivated Ye Linglan. Her delicate face was overtaken by admiration, and she tightened her grasp on his arm.

Her actions made Hao Jian slightly distracted. He playfully tapped Ye Linglan, causing her to pout and let out a soft hum of protest.

“But I almost forgot—there’s still one star of the show left today…”

Suddenly, Hao Jian smacked his own forehead as if rembering sothing important. With that, he stepped forward, heading toward Yan Ming, who had just managed to stand, attempting to sneak out amidst the shift in attention. Seeing Hao Jian approach, Yan Ming’s face stiffened nervously…

“Oh, Star Yan, why are you only now thinking of leaving?” Hao Jian looked at the awkward Yan Ming with a mocking expression, but beneath the discomfort on Yan Ming’s face burned a flicker of intense rage.

If not for Hao Jian’s appearance, he wouldn’t have ended up like this today. He’d still be the Piano Prince, still the man who made won across the country scream in adoration!

Now, he was nothing but a shadow of his forr self… a humiliation.

“Hao Jian, don’t you think for a second you’ve won!”

If he couldn’t leave with dignity, Yan Ming at least had to save face with so parting words…

“Heh, you’re truly delusional. Knowing you’re no match for , you still insisted on going head-to-head. Your greatest pride was your piano, yet I defeated you at what you valued most. Not only that, but I crushed you so thoroughly that you’ll never recover. And yet you still spew such shaless words…”

Hao Jian scoffed, shaking his head slightly. Then, his expression turned cold, his voice dropping into a nacing tone as he continued, “Soone like you dares to pursue my Lanlan?”

“Better not show up in front of us again, or things won’t end like today—with others hitting you. It’ll be far worse!”

“My woman is beyond the reach of soone like you!”

“You… you…”

Hao Jian’s harsh words left no room for rcy. Yan Ming, his complexion darkened, found himself silenced by the mocking turn of events. Words he had once directed at Hao Jian now ca back to haunt him.

The irony of such a reversal was too much for Yan Ming to bear.

“What? Still not convinced? Want to go another round?” Hao Jian caught the glimr of fury in Yan Ming’s eyes and let out a cold snort.

“You just wait!”

Finally abandoning the last shreds of his dignity, Yan Ming turned and bolted toward the exit. He wanted nothing more than to escape from this scene, from Hao Jian’s relentless words and his inability to fight back. This humiliation—it was worse than death.

“Tsk…”

Watching Yan Ming flee in disgrace, the audience couldn’t help but shake their heads. The hall erupted in unanimous booing…
