Chapter 1118: Chapter 899: A Cluster of Smoke-Like Blood Vessels_2 Chapter 1118: Chapter 899: A Cluster of Smoke-Like Blood Vessels_2 Oh, Yang Ping rembered, he had forgotten to follow up about the surgery he promised Bao Yulou. So after agreeing, there was no further discussion.

This made August Lou very anxious, as he feared that delays would lead to more problems. With the help of Dean Sun, he ca this ti to inquire about the specific ti for the surgery.

“Professor Yang has been very busy lately, but he will try to make ti. Don’t worry,” Dean Sun said on behalf of Bao Yulou.

After thinking it over, Yang Ping said, “How about next week? Co and be admitted on Monday, have the surgery on Tuesday. Co early on Monday, be punctual at 8:30 to the departnt, find the on-duty doctor to get the admission form. Rember to fast, you can’t have breakfast.”

Finally having a specific date set for his son’s surgery made Bao Yulou very happy. He knew his son wasn’t successful — a simple matter had been complicated by his son and that absurd wife.

But a son is still a son, even if he is as stupid as a pig, he is still his son.

Bao Junhao did nothing, was good for nothing, but had so interest in soccer, so Bao Yulou went to great lengths to make him a soccer player. Now with a knee injury, he could no longer play. If he wanted to return to the field, his only option was to have Professor Yang perform the main surgery.

Thankfully, after a series of actions such as apologizing and making donations, Bao Yulou had finally expressed his sincerity, and Yang Ping agreed to perform the surgery for Bao Junhao.

Currently in the world, there were not many doctors who could perform the surgery for Bao Junhao, and the best one was only Yang Ping. The few other doctors who could perform this kind of surgery were all Yang’s students. If it wasn’t for that fiasco in the United States, he still wouldn’t have known about this.

Mrs. Bao and Bao Junhao were extrely polite and humble, no longer arrogant as before. They leaned slightly forward, bowing, and squeezed out a smile on their faces, “Thank you, Professor Yang! We’re very grateful.”

This is what Bao Yulou had repeatedly instructed in advance; this matter absolutely couldn’t have any further complications.

—-

Bao Junhao, this kid, spent his days frolicking with a group of fair-weather friends, and sotis it was a problem to have too much money. Bao Junhao was just like that.

Having just left Sanbo Hospital, he disappeared without a trace without even saying goodbye to his father, while his friends were waiting for him at so villa for a planned party that night.

“Brother Hao, you seem a bit down lately,” said Wu Kequan, who hung around with Bao Junhao all the ti.

This guy was also a good-for-nothing, doing nothing worthwhile all day.

“Of course I’m not happy, I’ve been acting like a grandkid lately, having to grovel for a surgery. My old man is donating money, writing apology letters, and even forcing my mom and to apologize to that bastard face to face. Every ti I speak in front of him, I have to be utterly respectful, claiming it’s to show sincerity. I want nothing more than to rush up and kick him,” Bao Junhao said indignantly.

Bao Junhao poured himself a drink, took a fierce gulp, the pent-up anger in his heart with nowhere to vent.

“No wonder, I was wondering why you’ve been so gloomy these days,” his friend said, pouring Bao Junhao another drink.

“What kind of big shot? To make Brother Hao serve like a grandson, let have a word with him,” his friend said, also feeling angry.

Bao Junhaw sighed and said, “It’s Yang Ping, a doctor from Sanbo Hospital. This guy is so arrogant. He just knows a few surgeries, what’s so great about him?”

Bao Junhao beca more and more angry as he spoke.

His friend saw this and thought it was just an ordinary doctor.

“Should I find so guys to teach him a lesson, to vent your anger? How dare he disrespect Brother Hao,” his friend said, equally indignant.

On thinking it over, Bao Junhao had not been short on scoldings from his old man recently, and was forced to apologize. His resentnt had built up for a long ti, and upon his friend’s reminder, Bao Junhao felt he must reclaim his status, otherwise how would he stand in front of his brothers in the future.

However, he thought again, the surgery hadn’t been done yet. He’d wait until it was over. Bao Junhao didn’t want to end up a cripple. He might be a bit stupid, but he wasn’t so clueless about this situation.

“Don’t rush it, wait until after the surgery. Once it’s done, who cares about him? Then help find a few people to give him a proper beating. Don’t make too much of a scene, but don’t go too easy on him. Just ruin one of his hands,” Bao Junhao said viciously.

His friend imdiately agreed, “Leave it to . You say how far to go, and I’ll make sure it goes that far, guaranteeing he’ll rember for a lifeti not to ss with Brother Hao.”

“Yeah, my old man is such a fucking wimp, acts like a damn grandson with all the money he has. What’s the point of making money?” Bao Junhao said of his father and couldn’t help but shake his head.

——

Professor Deng Jianliang from the outpatient clinic called Yang Ping and asked him if he had finished work for the day.

Yang Ping said he had not finished yet and was still in the departnt ward.

Professor Deng Jianliang said, “There’s a patient with Moyamoya disease in the ergency departnt, a two-year-old little girl, and I’m preparing to have her admitted.”

The patient was seen in the ergency departnt, which then requested a consult from the neurosurgery departnt. Because of the young age of the patient, the consulting neurologist was uncertain and had to ask Professor Deng Jianliang for help.

Given her young age, the surgery would be particularly difficult, and since the child needed ergency surgery, Professor Deng thought it best to communicate with Yang Ping in advance.

“Admit her! Ergency surgery!” Yang Ping replied without a second thought.

Ergency surgery for a two-year-old with Moyamoya disease is indeed difficult.

Moyamoya disease is a rare cerebrovascular disorder, also known as Moyamoya syndro, or spontaneous occlusion of the circle of Willis.

Both children and adults can develop the disease. Children tend to exhibit ischemic symptoms, while adults tend to have hemorrhagic symptoms.

Due to narrowing or occlusion of the arteries, the vessels upstream dilate because of increased resistance, which can lead to a higher risk of vessel rupture and hemorrhage. The downstream vessels tend to obstruct due to insufficient blood supply.

The main symptom of the child now was a sudden weakness in the left side of her body. The family lives near the hospital, so she was rushed to Sanbo Hospital’s ergency departnt as soon as the symptoms were discovered.

Yang Ping notified Zhang Lin and Little Five to prepare for ergency surgery. Ergency surgeries are rare in the Surgical Research Institute, so everyone was very excited to hear about an ergency operation, and Zhang Lin and Little Five imdiately went to the ergency departnt to see the patient.

Yang Ping pulled up the brain angiography images for the child from the computer.

The angiography images showed the typical Moyamoya “puff of smoke” vessels.

The “smoky” vessels are a network of abnormal vessels ford due to narrowing or occlusion at the intracranial segnt of the internal carotid artery, causing malformations in the vessels connected to the base of the skull.

More specifically, Moyamoya disease is characterized by progressive thickening of the intima at the terminal part of the internal carotid artery and the starting segnts of the anterior and middle cerebral arteries, gradually leading to narrowing and eventual occlusion, with compensatory dilatation of the lenticulostriate arteries.

The imaging fully matched the characteristics of Moyamoya disease; there was no issue with the diagnosis.

Treatnt for Moyamoya disease can be divided into direct revascularization and indirect revascularization.

For a two-year-old case, with smaller blood vessels, indirect revascularization is usually chosen, involving the separation of the superficial temporal artery to lay onto and adhere to the surface of the brain under the dura mater.

This facilitates indirect restoration of blood flow, improving the ischemic state inside the skull.

If one has a solid foundation in vascular anastomosis, direct revascularization is also a possibility.

Yang Ping told Zhang Lin and Little Five to arrange the operation, while he quickly went to the canteen to have dinner.

Zhang Lin and Little Five were clever; the first thing they did every afternoon after finishing surgery was to eat.

That way, they weren’t rattled if there was an operation later, and even if there wasn’t one, they were able to save ti for basic skills training.

Trying not to be on an empty stomach when heading into surgery was Yang Ping’s style and had been learned by every doctor in his ward.

Even if there truly wasn’t ti for a al, eating a compressed biscuit while changing clothes in the changing room was an option. Boxes of compressed biscuits were available in the changing room for anyone to eat, especially ant for those who didn’t have ti before an ergency surgery.

Doctors maintaining good physical condition is beneficial to ensuring the quality of the surgery.
