Chapter 1143: Chapter 912 Rember Your Promise! Chapter 1143: Chapter 912 Rember Your Promise! Looking into the little girl’s eyes brimming with confidence, Yang Ping felt much comforted.

Regarding Sisi’s tumor, in the past, Yang Ping had only the Gamma Knife as a treatnt tool, but now the K-factor he was researching might play a significant role. It could initiate the apoptosis program of Sisi’s tumor cells.

However, the journey from this kind of in vitro experint to genuine clinical application was a long one, and success was uncertain.

But no matter how difficult it was, or what the chances of success were, Yang Ping was determined to strive for it.

If the K-factor could initiate the apoptosis program of Sisi’s tumor cells in vitro, then at least it demonstrated that these tumor cells could be artificially induced to undergo apoptosis and ultimately die off on their own.

The general direction was clear; what remained was to carve out a successful path.

“I’ve found a new thod, but it’s never been tried on a patient before. So, I was hoping you could be my first human experint volunteer. Would that be possible?”

Yang Ping always communicated with Sisi as a friend, never treating her as a child who didn’t understand anything because this little girl was incredibly smart.

Sisi was now quite optimistic, almost transcendental, as if she had seen through life and death.

“Of course, I’m willing. Big brother, you are the best doctor in the world. I’ve said before, even if we fail, I can still be your error book.”

Sitting on the bed, Sisi appeared very obedient.

Yang Ping gave a simple explanation: “Rember the tumor cells we took from you? My new thod is based on those cells; our laboratory is conducting relevant experints. If all goes well, we should be able to use this for human trials soon.”

“It seems I’m still quite valuable as your research subject. Can you tell what the new thod is?” Sisi asked with interest.

Yang Ping teased her with a smile, “You wouldn’t understand, it’s all dical knowledge.”

“Don’t underestimate !”

Sisi imdiately stood up, pulled open the bedside drawer, where books were neatly stacked. Utilizing the light coming in from the window, she pulled out a few.

“Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pathophysiology! I’ve read all of these at least once, not skimming, but reading word by word,” Sisi declared, laying the books out on the bed with a proud expression.

These were genuine dical University textbooks, not simple educational materials like “The Amazing Human Body” for elentary students.

“Where did you get all these books from?”

Yang Ping was curious.

Sisi mysteriously replied, “So intern doctors at the hospital throw away a lot of books after their internships end. These were all picked up by my mom.”

Yang Ping picked up a book and flipped through it; it had many notes, indeed looking like it was found.

“You can’t recognize all the characters here, right?” he provoked her on purpose.

Sisi, not willing to be outdone, said, “I’ve read the ‘New Chinese Dictionary’ many tis over. You think I don’t recognize these words?”

“You’ve read all these books? You understand them?” Yang Ping was half amused, half amazed; a fifth-grade student understanding these texts.

“A little bit! I’ve even taken notes.”

Sisi took a big notebook out of the drawer.

When Yang Ping looked at it, he saw a Human Anatomy Diagram, drawn in a childishly cartoonish manner, yet accurate and structured.

A true prodigy! In this mont, Yang Ping felt a strong desire to take her on as his student.

“You like these, they don’t bore you? Not too tough?” Yang Ping was very curious.

Sisi nodded, “I don’t know, but while others like to read comics, I enjoy these books. They’re fascinating, and I want to be a doctor when I grow up, just like you, big brother.”

Hearing the words “grow up,” Yang Ping felt a twinge of sadness but didn’t show it on his face.

For other children, growing up was a given, but for Sisi, it might be a luxury.

“Yeah, grow up and beco a doctor, then be my student, and I’ll teach you the craft,” Yang Ping struggled to keep his emotions in check.

Sisi extended a finger, “You said it, no backing out, pinky promise!”

“Pinky promise! What I said, I won’t back out,” Yang Ping replied, extending his finger to make a pinky promise with Sisi. It was the sa pinky promise that made them friends initially; Sisi insisted that Yang Ping maintain confidentiality and tell no one that she knew about her illness.

Yes, I will make sure you grow up, ensure that you can beco my student, and you will undoubtedly be an outstanding one.

Putting aside any pity for the little girl, her IQ and EQ were both exceptionally high, undeniably a genius.

“Now you believe , right, knowing that I might understand? So don’t underestimate ,” Sisi put away her books.

Composing himself, Yang Ping said, “My new thod involves utilizing tumor cell apoptosis; apoptosis is a form of cellular death, an active form of dying. In other words, I’ve thought of a way to make the tumor cells in your body commit suicide. Normally, from the day they arise, your body’s tumor cells shouldn’t exist—they should self-destruct. But they’re strong; they can evade the body’s surveillance and survive. Now, my thod will prevent them from escaping this surveillance, drawing them back to their intended end—apoptosis.”

“I know about apoptosis; those books talk about it. I roughly get what you an. Tumor cells are like defective products in a factory, and when workers discover them, they’re destroyed. Apoptosis is a way to eradicate these defects, making the defective products self-destruct, right?” Sisi’s bright eyes looked at Yang Ping.
