Chapter 1247: 956 Chapter Honest Little Boy_2 Chapter 1247: 956 Chapter Honest Little Boy_2 “dical Insurance card? I don’t know about that; isn’t the governnt handling this stuff? Why do I, a common person, have to worry about it?” Dong Guanghan said with a look of grievance.

Zhang Lin said irritably, “Do you need the governnt to feed you when you eat?”

“You have to pay for resident dical insurance every year. Have you paid? If you have, your child would have a card,” Zhang Lin had no choice but to tell him.

“We definitely have dical insurance, but no card. You should ask the dical Insurance Office about this; how should I know? That’s their business.” Dong Guanghan got a bit impatient.

Zhang Lin remained calm, “Do you expect the Environntal Protection Agency to handle your constipation? This is your own issue, get it? You want to ask? You haven’t brought the dical insurance card yet, and without registration, it is treated as self-paid. With dical insurance, a large part could be reimbursed. Without it, it’s all out-of-pocket.”

“What kind of attitude is this from a doctor? You have no sense of service for the people. What do common folks like us know?” Dong Guanghan said angrily.

The little boy, Dong Zhikai, tugged at his father’s sleeve and said timidly, “You didn’t buy dical insurance. When the teacher said it was ti to pay, you said dical insurance was a scam and didn’t pay. I was the only one in the class that didn’t.”

“What do you know, talking nonsense here.” Dong Guanghan slapped his son across the face with a slap, making the child’s face imdiately show five finger marks, and he dared not speak anymore.

This really irritated Zhang Lin, “Why do you hit the child at every turn? Do you often do this at ho? We need to call the police and report you for child abuse.”

Little Five imdiately went over and tried to pull the child to protect him, but the child, clearly frightened, did not dare to co over to Little Five’s side; Little Five had no choice but to sit beside him.

“He’s my son; I’ll smack him if I want, what’s it to you? Call the police, go ahead, I’ll sit right here and wait.” Dong Guanghan was not scared at all, looking as though a dead pig does not fear boiling water.

What a piece of work!

Zhang Lin did not want to anger him further; otherwise, the child would suffer the consequences. Hitting the child like this, if not too severe, would at most make the police educate him a bit but accomplish nothing much.

“You better prepare the money; your child can’t have surgery right now. We need to first use dication to suppress bone resorption and increase bone density; otherwise, surgery can’t be perford,” Zhang Lin explained.

Dong Guanghan dismissively said, “If he can’t have surgery now, why did the City People’s Hospital refer us here? You just saw that I didn’t pay, right? If there’s no paynt, there’s no treatnt?”

“I’ve said what needs to be said; go and prepare, okay?”

“Do you even have dical ethics? Do you understand that it’s just about money? If there’s no money, there’s no treatnt? The child is in this condition, and you don’t care? You can go ask the City People’s Hospital for money; they caused this. A minor fracture turned into this, this is a dical malpractice, and during surgery, a kidney was stolen too; is there no law anymore?”

Upon hearing that Zhang Lin said that surgery wasn’t necessary for now and could happen later, Dong Guanghan seed to have caught Zhang Lin’s weak spot and imdiately stood on a moral high ground.

“This is sothing you need to discuss with the City People’s Hospital; arguing here is pointless. Go back and get ready,” Zhang Lin said calmly, not wanting to argue.

Dong Guanghan, furious, said, “You are all about greed, delaying the surgery because of no paynt. I’ll sue you and expose you online; heartless, driven by greed, every third word about money, no pay, no treatnt.”

Dong Guanghan, pulling his son along and cursing, stord off. If it weren’t for the child, Zhang Lin really would have liked to scold him.

“What should we do? This guy is impossible to communicate with!” Little Five asked Zhang Lin.

Zhang Lin disdainfully said, “Find a way to get rid of him, dealing with this kind of patient literally shaves years off your life.”

This kind of doctor-patient communication is obviously horrendous and ineffective, it’s like playing the lute to a cow. Yet, Zhang Lin and Little Five were not psychologically burdened; their first thought with uncommunicative, distrustful, unreasonable patients was not to argue or painstakingly explain, but simply to find a way to get rid of them, to let them create trouble wherever else they wanted, they wouldn’t entertain them.

Most doctors obviously are not as “bad” as Zhang Lin and Little Five; most doctors carry the moral burden, always trying to explain patiently, appeal to emotions, and reason with logic, given that the typical image of a doctor is one of selfless dedication. Most hospitals too, aim to uphold this noble image, advocating for doctors to refrain from complaining, suffer in silence, definitely not acting like Zhang Lin and Little Five who were more ‘gangster’ in their approach.

At that mont, Yang Ping was in the doctor’s office with Song Zimo, reviewing the patients’ imaging, when Zhang Lin and Little Five ca in. Yang Ping asked, “How did it go?”

Zhang Lin shook his head, “He doesn’t trust us at all, nor does he have any respect; he is very reluctant to be treated here.”

“Dean Chen still wants us to help with the explanation; maybe we should let the dical Services Office handle it. Communication is their forte,” Song Zimo suggested.

Zhang Lin nodded, “That’s fine.”

From the corner of his eye, Yang Ping saw a small head peeking in and out of the office door—it was the sa little boy from before. The boy imdiately recognized Yang Ping and seed to want to say sothing but felt hesitant to enter.

Yang Ping smiled and gestured, “Hey kid, is there sothing you need? Co in.”

With Yang Ping’s permission, the little boy timidly entered, constantly looking back as if afraid soone might be following him, tiptoeing as he walked.

“Is there sothing you need from ?” Yang Ping asked him gently.

The little boy, head down and face flushed red, occasionally glanced at the door, seeming to hesitate to speak.

“It’s okay; if you have sothing to say, go ahead,” Little Five said, moving a chair for him.

The boy stared at the door and said, “Keep a lookout for , don’t let my dad co in and see .”

Everyone was stunned for a mont, but Zhang Lin imdiately patted the little boy’s shoulder, “Speak up, don’t be afraid. I’ll go to the door and keep watch for you now.”

Assured that soone was keeping watch, the little boy gathered his courage and said, “My dad lied. I’ve had an ultrasound before, two tis, actually. The doctor told I only have one kidney and that I was born with just one. My dad forbade from telling anyone, saying he would beat to death if I dared tell anyone. I think I still need to tell you; I don’t want to deceive people.”

Everyone was taken aback again, looking at each other in dismay.

The boy was anxious, “Really, I don’t rember which hospital it was, but I rember the first two characters were ‘first.'”

“First?” Song Zimo asked imdiately, “Did you go ho right after the examination that day?”

“Yes, I went ho right after the examination, and the hospital’s na definitely had ‘first’ in it,” the boy confird he was not mistaken.

Nandu dical University Affiliated First Hospital!

“Thank you, little friend. Why did you tell ?” Yang Ping held the boy’s hand.

“I don’t want to deceive people. Moreover, at the last hospital, the doctors and nurses were very kind to . They even donated money for my treatnt and bought tasty food. I don’t want to cheat them out of their money. They didn’t steal my kidney; I was born with only one,” the boy whispered, his head low.

“Really, I greatly appreciate your honesty,” Yang Ping patted the boy’s shoulder.

“My dad has gone downstairs to buy cigarettes and will be back soon. Please don’t tell him that I told you this; he will beat . If my dad doesn’t pay, will you still treat ?” the boy asked, his eyes as clear as water.

Yang Ping touched his head, noting the child’s upright moral values, “Don’t worry, we’ll figure sothing out for you, and we will definitely treat you.”

Honest people should be treated kindly, not taken advantage of; otherwise, there would be no honesty in society.

In fact, Yang Ping had known all along that the boy had previously undergone ultrasounds—how could such a significant matter be forgotten by his father? He just didn’t want to admit it, intending to feign ignorance to extort so money from the hospital.

“I’m going back now,” the boy said, visibly relieved, and imdiately ran back.

Once the little boy left, Song Zimo said, “Dean Chen ntioned this patient is an engineering contractor, owns several houses, and drives a rcedes-Benz. He’s not short on money, but the cost of the boy’s last fracture treatnt was raised through online donations. Allegedly, the leftover money wasn’t returned but kept by them. The hospital thought they were really poor and even donated nearly twenty thousand yuan to them. This family is utterly disgusting.”

“Dong Guanghan himself owns several houses, drives a rcedes-Benz but owes a lot of money to migrant workers,” Zhang Lin said mysteriously.

“How do you know more about this than I do? Did Dean Chen tell you?” Song Zimo was quite surprised.

Zhang Lin said dismissively, “Does Dean Chen need to tell ? Who do you think I am?”

“Director of the Sanbo Hospital Intelligence Bureau!” Little Five chid in.
