Chapter 1317: Chapter 997 Chapter 1317: Chapter 997 Wen Ru posted a notice about streaking in the large WeChat group of the hospital, officially scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at three. At that ti, he would run naked around the hospital three tis to fulfill his bet. This streaking session was indeed genuine.

The entire hospital was abuzz with excitent. Everyone thought Doctor Wen was a true man of his word, soone who honors his commitnts. If everyone acted like Doctor Wen, the world would be full of trustworthiness.

In the hospital’s large WeChat group, discussions exploded imdiately. Regardless of gender, everyone was eager to witness Doctor Wen’s true streaking, admiring his courage and his open and honest character. The group was a flurry of fireworks. If Director Zhao had not intervened in ti to curb the discussions, the whole group chat would have focused only on the streaking.

Yang Ping was completely disinterested in the streaking news. He found the whole affair eccentric. Let him do as he pleases—it’s not going to cause any harm, and forcefully stopping him might actually lead to problems. Yang Ping was busy. He needed to rush to Nandu dical University to review Guan Ruyan’s research project, which was funded with fifty million—a significant sum for a single project in academic institutions.

For key projects, Nandu dical University always maintained strict scrutiny. Therefore, they invited a group of top scholars from both inside and outside the school for a serious review. Yang Ping was invited as he was currently an Outstanding Young Talent and a candidate for Academician, and he was also preparing for the Nobel Prize.

Guan Ruyan had recently faced a bit of trouble. His son had won the national youth science and technology competition, which was originally good news. However, an indiscreet reporter stirred up trouble during a school visit.

In this incident, the school’s Principal and teachers did not notify Guan Ruyan, possibly due to the rush or because the reporter did not ntion interviewing the child himself, so Guan Ruyan was not inford about the matter.

After the reporter arrived at the school, the Principal and teachers were very pleased and valued this interview for its potential promotional benefit for the school. After interviewing the Principal and teachers, the reporter spontaneously asked if he could et the outstanding child. The teachers agreed, seeing no issue with eting the child since it was part of the interview.

Arranged by the Principal, the reporter t the child and was surprised to discover that he had a background in biology, making him sowhat of an expert on the subject. After chatting casually with the child, the reporter was amazed that the child could recite his paper flawlessly and understood the concepts within, but it was clear he had morized them because he knew nothing when asked in detail. The child honestly confessed that his father had written the paper and instructed him to morize it. He had not been involved in the experints but had visited the laboratory several tis for photographs.

The reporter wrote an article about this and published it online, which caused an uproar. What was supposed to be a youth science competition turned into a competition of which parents could best support their children. How could that still be aningful? Of course, it had aning—this was capital for future education. The competition was no longer a simple contest.

This event had a massive impact because the identities of the child’s parents were revealed, both being university professors and the child a primary school student competing with a dical paper. It was obvious what was going on. Although there had been doubts initially, the organizers announced after an investigation that the query was a rumor and the contestant had completed the experints and paper independently without any deception, and the controversy subsided.

Everyone couldn’t help but marvel at how intelligent soone else’s child was, being able to publish papers in prestigious dical journals and conduct advanced experints, while their own children struggled even with simple howork. Ah, the gap was imnse.

Yang Ping arrived at the eting room of Nandu dical University. The eting was about to start in a few minutes, and most of the expert Professors invited had already arrived. Guan Ruyan had arrived early, with his Assistant Xiao Lu sitting next to him.

Guan Ruyan appeared haggard, obviously troubled by his child’s situation recently. There was a strong online call for investigating the matter and demands to revoke the child’s championship title.

“Professor Yang!” Guan Ruyan greeted Yang Ping.

Upon hearing of Yang Ping’s arrival, many Professors stood up to welco him. Yang Ping smiled, greeted everyone with a bow, and then took his seat.

The remaining few Professors trickled in late, and shortly after, Principal Ruo and Academician Xiang entered the eting room together, and everyone stood up to welco them as well.

Guan Ruyan’s project focused on CAR T-cell therapy, an area in which the United States was leading. Guan Ruyan hoped to use this project to catch up with the Arican cell therapy technology. Yang Ping had glanced through the project brief and indeed, the approach was innovative. Should it succeed, it could significantly narrow their gap with the leaders in the field.

Not long ago, Yang Ping had used cell therapy to treat a tumor patient and achieved great success.

However, Yang Ping’s primary focus was elsewhere, and he could not delve into everything. Thus, he shared so of his findings on cell therapy with Xiao Lu during their discussions. Xiao Lu was sharp, not only grasping the essence of the topic but also capable of advancing the research along those lines.

In previous discussions with Xiao Lu, Yang Ping had felt that he had comprehensive research in this area. Almost all the new ideas proposed by Xiao Lu at that ti appeared in this project. So, were these ideas Xiao Lu’s or Guan Ruyan’s? This made Yang Ping a bit puzzled.
