Chapter 1469: Chapter 1096: Global Research Program

Yang Ping also ca to Haiyun Manor not rely to visit scholars; he was here to give a lecture, the topic of which was the Spatial Orientation Gene Theory. Truly understanding this theory could resolve many specialized difficulties.

For instance, research on peripheral nerve repair around the world has entered a plateau, with no globally significant and inspirational progress—this is because the foundational theory had not achieved a breakthrough. After the Spatial Orientation Gene Theory was proposed, Professor Mainshtan made certain breakthroughs in this area. Although it seems like only a slight breakthrough for now, it has not been easy to achieve.

Surrounded by a spontaneous crowd, Yang Ping entered the eting Room; his presentation was to be held here, attended by hundreds of heavyweights accompanied by their top Students, adding up to over two thousand people at the venue now.

In front of over two thousand people, Yang Ping appeared exceedingly composed and experienced. Spatial Orientation Gene Theory is very abstract—a brand new theory—so Yang Ping tried his best to explain it in straightforward language, allowing for easier comprehension.

After a wonderful lecture, the room burst into thunderous applause, several Nobel Prize recipients started asking questions on the spot, and other scholars were eager to join in.

Prior to this, these scholars didn’t know much about Yang Ping, but after arriving in China, everyone learned that Yang Ping was a Surgeon, a Surgeon excelling in using the Surgical Knife, yet with such strong research capabilities. Not only did he introduce many Clinical research findings, but he also made significant contributions in basic dicine. He is an interdisciplinary genius even more magical than Professor Mainshtan, spanning from Orthopedics to the entire field of Surgery, then to research areas like Stem Cells and Tumors. His scholarly achievents have been rich and plentiful, leaving everyone at the venue in awe.

The once renowned Professor Mainshtan was admired by the world’s Doctors and Professors for his involvent in multiple disciplines and outstanding achievents in several fields and even casually winning a Nobel Prize. Now, Yang Ping’s genius exceeded even that of Professor Mainshtan.

“Professor Yang, aside from your research, you also perform Surgeries every day, is that true?”

A Nobel Prize recipient from the United States in dicine and Biology asked this off-topic question.

Facing the microphone, Yang Ping replied, “Yes, this is true. My daily work is just like that. Many Doctors in multiple Hospitals across China do the sa—engaging in Clinical work while also conducting research. Because in our view, a good Doctor must possess both Clinical and research capabilities in order to advance the progress of dicine.”

“It’s hard to imagine how you manage your ti. I have read all your papers thoroughly, each piece of research alone could take a decade or two, so might even consu a lifeti of effort. However, you have managed to achieve all this in such a short ti; it’s truly unbelievable.”

The gentleman expressed his amazent, knowing the value of Yang Ping’s research and how long it would take him if he were to conduct it himself.

“I have an excellent team; an excellent team allows to increase efficiency,” Yang Ping told him.

“May we visit your Laboratory?” a Professor asked.

Yang Ping cheerfully responded, “Certainly, but an appointnt will need to be made. I hope for your understanding.”

The Professor looked around at the crowd, knowing that the Laboratory’s aseptic requirents were very strict. If they were to visit, only a few people could enter at a ti. With so many people, how long would he have to wait for his turn? Surely he couldn’t wait here that long.

“Professor Yang, you believe that within the vast wealth of human genetic information lies the gene necessary for constructing three-dinsional cellular structures, and you have already discovered the Spatial Orientation Gene for Muscle, successfully cultivating a complete Muscle in the Laboratory. Really marvellous. Are these types of genes scattered or systematic, in your view?” the Nobel laureate who had asked a question earlier continued.

“They are systematic, but the system is likely scattered throughout the gene pool, making them difficult to find. At the mont, we’ve only identified one type. If others are Interested, you are welco to search for them. I believe human genes are of two types: one is the cell orientation gene, which includes the genes we are currently familiar with that guide the body to Manufacture various cells; and the Spatial Orientation Gene, which guides the use of these cells to build three-dinsional substantive structures. It’s akin to having two sets of instructions for a building: one showing how to create components like bricks, steel bars, and concrete, and the other, architectural blueprints guiding how to build a three-dinsional structure with these materials. With building construction, blueprints are known to us, but it is quite the reverse with the human body—we are familiar with the material manufacturing plans but know very little about the architectural design plans. The Spatial Orientation Gene Theory represents this blueprint.” Yang Ping used simple language to explain.

“It’s incredible. With 25,000 genes and 3 billion base pairs in the human body, who knows how much information is hidden there. It seems our understanding of genes is still at a very superficial stage.”

“That’s correct. The complexity of the human body exceeds our imagination. With current technology, separate from the body’s own cell division chanism, we can’t even manually create a real piece of skin. But the body’s cells can start from a fertilized egg and develop into a complex human body. Look at the countless cells, tissues, organs, and systems, masterfully combined. Any man-made machinery, no matter how precise or complex, seems crude in comparison to the human body,” Yang Ping stood at the podium, microphone in hand, voice resonant.

With so many of the world’s top scientists in the audience, if possible, he hoped they could establish a trendous Genetic project—the Human Spatial Orientation Gene Research Program, a program that would be even more complex and massive than the Human Geno Project.

The Human Geno Project’s goal was to determine the sequence of the 3 billion base pairs that make up human chromosos, mapping the human geno and identifying its genes and sequences to ultimately decode human genetic information. The sequencing part of this project has been completed, but we are still far from the ultimate goal.

It’s like taking apart an alien spaceship; we have only disassembled the spaceship and drawn detailed Component diagrams. To fully understand the principles and mysteries of the ship requires more than just this.

“Professor Yang, is it possible to establish a global research initiative for the Spatial Orientation Gene, allowing everyone to participate and combine the world’s resources to tackle this imnsely valuable challenge for humanity?” another Nobel laureate asked.

Yang Ping nodded confidently: “Of course. If everyone is Interested, we can discuss how to set up this initiative at a ti that suits us all.”
