Still revising the draft!!! I’ll look at it later! Thank you.

Yang Ping listened to everyone gossiping back and forth, and the heavy feeling in his heart from He Zijian’s betrayal unknowingly eased a lot.

The lively, even trivial, atmosphere of the clinical ward was completely different from the highly tense, logically rigorous environnt of the laboratory he had been imrsed in lately, yet it was real and warm. This was the soil where he, as a doctor, was rooted, the scene where countless scientific research achievents would ultimately return to and serve.

"Alright, alright, disperse now, go about your own business." Song Zimo smiled and waved his hand, dispersing the growing crowd of "gossip enthusiasts," "The Professor is back to discuss official matters, not to listen to your gossip news."

The crowd laughed and dispersed, but the atmosphere was significantly more relaxed. Zhang Lin was still reluctant to leave, but Little Five dragged him away to deal with dical records.

Song Zimo then continued on the main topic: "Besides these follow-ups, the ward has recently admitted a few rather tricky cases. I’ve organized the imaging data and preliminary examination results for you to review when you have ti."

Yang Ping nodded. He needed to focus his energy on clinical work during this period; clinical work was the source of scientific innovation. dical research, after all, was ant to serve the clinic and solve clinical problems, not to arise out of nowhere.

...

At this mont in the United States, Li Gaoyang was in a state of extre anxiety.

A call from John Ansen, the Mayo Clinic Neurosurgery Departnt Director, shattered the last vestiges of hope within Li Gaoyang. High-resolution follow-up MRI clearly showed: the tumor in the brainstem had recurred, and it was now in a more tricky location, with even more adhesion to the surrounding areas. So John Ansen did not wait to discuss it during the scheduled eting with Li Gaoyang but imdiately called upon receiving the report.

"Mr. Li Gaoyang, the situation is not optimistic," Hansen’s voice ca through the receiver, "The location and growth pattern of the tumor’s recurrence make the difficulty and risk of a second surgery increase exponentially. We’ve assessed all possible surgical approaches and plans, and frankly, the chances of success are much lower than last ti."

Li Gaoyang’s palm holding the phone was sweaty, but he forced himself to maintain a stable tone: "Well then, Dr. Ansen, what is your suggestion?"

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the line: "Have Professor Yang Ping perform the main surgery...but there is so good news. Professor Yang Ping’s team is researching a new thod called K Therapy, which is highly sensitive to your type of tumor, but it is currently not on the market and is in the clinical trial stage, with many cured cases among the clinical trial volunteers."

"You said cured?" Li Gaoyang thought he heard wrong.

"Yes, cured! Several volunteers have had their tumor cells completely eliminated," John Ansen replied clearly.

Li Gaoyang’s hand holding the phone trembled a bit, feeling very fortunate that during the previous "Trojan Plan," he remained hidden in the background while Carl Mueller took the forefront. Although the world knew he was the true master of BG Group, at least on the surface, it was Carl, not him, Li Gaoyang, who directly tore face with Yang Ping and Ruixing and issued specific block instruction. This left a bit of room for maneuver at this mont; he felt his decision then was wise, probably the most correct decision of his life.

"I understand, thank you very much for your honesty and advice. But how can I contact Professor Yang Ping?" Li Gaoyang asked reluctantly, fully aware that John Ansen surely knew about their BG Group’s recent crazy "Trojan Plan."

The other end, John Ansen, did not answer his question but said, "May I ask, Mr. Li Gaoyang, is there anything you don’t understand about the illness?"

"No, I’m very clear, thank you."

Li Gaoyang hung up the phone and leaned back in the expensive leather chair, his face appearing slightly ashen under the office lights. The shadow of death hung over him for the second ti. Wealth, power, reputation, all seed pale and powerless in the face of illness. His only lifeline now was the man he once regarded as a challenger and attempted to sabotage.

Actually, he had experienced this feeling before, but after the surgery, he soon forgot the pain once the scar healed. Sotis people are just like that.

He leaned against the back of the chair to think for a while, and then imdiately convened a secret eting with his confidants, including Rolf. His condition could only be disclosed in a small circle, as it involved internal family power struggles.

"Mayo’s John Ansen has contacted . I don’t need to say it; you probably know what’s going on." Li Gaoyang rubbed his temples vigorously, and his confidants across from him remained silent.

After a brief mont of silence.

"At all costs, contact Professor Yang Ping, expressing our sincere apologies and asking for his dical assistance," Li Gaoyang’s voice was hoarse but determined, "The stance should be lowered, and the conditions can be appropriately relaxed. But rember, we are not begging; we are seeking a humanitarian and future cooperation solution." He still tried to maintain a bit of dignity.

"Pardon my frankness, if that’s your thinking, you might never be able to reach Professor Yang. You are begging now, so why not lower your high head? You’ve done it once, why care about a second ti?" Rolf said bluntly; he was initially highly opposed to the disastrous "Trojan Plan."

Li Gaoyang waved his hand: "Let’s try first!"

Rolf said helplessly, "Alright, but you’ll pay a price for it."
