"We are defending the bottom line of science!" Zhang Bo was relentless.

Chu Xiaoxiao held back her laughter, watching the screen for a while: "Actually, there’s a compromise. Use academic colors for the main chart, but for social dia sharing, make a simplified cool version, using contrasting colors to highlight the key points. Two versions, right?"

Both of them paused simultaneously and exchanged a glance.

"Makes sense!" Zhang Lin slapped his thigh. "Xiaoxiao is indeed smart! Let’s make two versions! One for lawyers and experts, and one for netizens and dia! That’s called differentiated communication!"

Zhang Bo also nodded: "This way... it works."

The first hurdle was crossed, and the second ca swiftly. When drafting the rebuttal to the opponent’s "trade secret infringent" accusations, the two clashed again.

Zhang Lin proposed: "This part should be written indignantly! ’Your so-called trade secrets are nothing but a cover-up for product defects! Real tech companies dare to openly accept scrutiny!’ Add so exclamation marks for montum!"

Zhang Bo objected: "No! Legal docunts need to be calm and objective. We just need to state the facts: we conducted legal black box testing and public data analysis without touching or attempting to touch their core source code. Emotional language will give the opponents a handle against us."

"But writing it this way isn’t satisfying!"

"Winning a lawsuit isn’t about venting, it’s about winning."

"Then can we add so emotion in the blog version?"

"In the blog... there can be so bias, but it still has to be based on facts."

Ultimately, the "evidence package" beca a peculiar dual-layer structure: the bottom layer was Zhang Bo’s ticulously compiled over two-hundred-page rigorous test report, data analysis, and references, formatted properly with calm wording. The top layer was Zhang Lin’s "summary version" and "public version," rich in graphics and text, with vibrant language, and even a few-minute explanatory video made to demonstrate how the wristband data is "deceptive" using animations.

The two worked through the night until dawn, exchanging smiles at completion, feeling a sense of mutual understanding.

"I have to say, your rigorous attitude complents my brain pretty well." Zhang Lin yawned.

"Teacher Zhang, you’re quick-thinking, full of ideas, and bold in action." Zhang Bo rarely praised anyone.

"Of course! The Old Zhang Family breeds talent!"

"But... isn’t ’Old Zhang’s Laboratory’ a bit too low-end?"

"What? You don’t have the surna Zhang? I don’t have the surna Zhang? But it is indeed a bit low-end, so let’s call it Zhang Bo’s Laboratory?"

I’m not a Doctor, thought Zhang Lin. Who cares whether you’re a Master or a Doctor, identity is self-claid. I’m just riding on Zhang Wei’s coattails, Zhang Bo didn’t say both Zhang Wei and Zhang Lin must be Doctors.

Better than those overseas Doctor titles on na cards with addresses that can’t be found, where the person himself can’t speak English.

...

On Monday, when Zhang Wei and Zhang Lin submitted the hefty yet lively evidence package for review by the Institute’s legal team and Tang Shun, even the well-versed Lawyer Li laughed.

"Quite comprehensive, separated into academic and public versions. This public version might not be legally rigorous but is very useful for guiding public opinion. What the opposition fears most is blowing things up and letting the public see the truth."

Tang Shun flipped through, with a hint of a smile on his face, especially upon seeing Zhang Lin’s slogan in the public version: "Science doesn’t fear scrutiny, pseudo-science dreads sunlight," he nodded.

"Tell them, they can voice out moderately, but all public statents must be based on the evidence package, no exaggerations, no personal attacks. The Institute’s official stance is to be expressed through proper legal channels."

Having received permission, Zhang Lin felt like he held an imperial sword. That evening, the "Zhang Bo’s Laboratory" blog and social dia accounts were online. The first major article was the graphic and text-packed "Ten Q&As on False Advertising by Pseudo-Tech Wristbands."

The article quickly spread among tech enthusiasts and consur rights circles. Zhang Lin actively replied in several related forums, quoting sources, citing ample data, becoming a new opinion leader in "grassroots tech fact-checking," thoroughly enjoying this role.

Watching the surging traffic on the blog backend and the comnts like "Support truth-seeking researchers!" "Well done!" Zhang Bo’s initial unease from the lawsuit gradually transford into a unique, fulfilling blend of responsibility and a touch of vanity.

Of course, trouble followed. Bots from so tech companies started swarming in, spewing insults, labeling, trying to change the topic. Zhang Lin got excited, rolled up his sleeves to confront them, but Zhang Bo held him back tightly.

"Teacher Zhang! Calm down! Don’t get caught in a war of words! We only present facts, reason, no shouting!" Zhang Bo urged.

"They’re insulting! Arguing with , don’t they know their own limits? If I don’t berate them until they’re bald, impotent, myocardial infarction, urinary obstruction..."

"Insults are a sign of their weak argunt! Responding lowers our status!" Zhang Wei strongly advised, "Maintain professionalism and calm."

Zhang Lin reluctantly put down the keyboard, muttering: "Alright... but watching it is really infuriating. When did Teacher Zhang ever lose at cursing, if I don’t curse them until urinary obstruction, I’m not nad Zhang."

...

A formal letter lay on Yang Ping’s desk.

From the Nobel Prize Committee, inviting Yang Ping to Stockholm in early October, about a month before the final winners are announced, to deliver a special 90-minute academic lecture at the Karolinska Institute, with the lecture the being "The Theory of Human System Regulation: A New Model for the Future of dicine."
