Chapter 827: Chapter 741: History Always Repeats Itself Chapter 827: Chapter 741: History Always Repeats Itself Yang Ping, along with Song Zimo, Xu Zhiliang, August, and Robert, arrived at the Pathology departnt. Pushing open the door, Wen Ruzheng’s signature hairstyle caught their eyes.

It was still that kind of short hair, with all strands equally long, clearly a self-done haircut with a trimr.

Wen Ruzheng was engrossed in examining a pathology slide.

“Old Wen—” Xu Zhiliang gave him a pat, startling him.

Seeing so many people, Doctor Wen was first shocked, then imdiately stood up to invite Yang Ping to sit down. Xu Zhiliang was discontented, “You only have eyes for the Professor, are we not guests?”

“Forget about it, find a place to sit yourself, the water dispenser is over there, and there are disposable cups underneath.”

The Pathology departnt was very quiet, everyone buried in their work.

Actually, the Pathology departnt was considered a tranquil segnt of the hospital, no night shifts required, and only occasionally staying late for frozen pathology. But these situations were rare throughout the year; after all, who would handle tumor surgery as an ergency surgery?

Even without night shifts, the work in the Pathology departnt can hardly be called relaxing; staring at the microscope at tissue sections every day until one’s head spins and brain swells. Only soone odd like Wen Ruzheng could be obsessed with viewing pathology slides as if he were addicted to gaming, sitting all day beneath the microscope without feeling bored.

“I’ve co to check out your bone tissue frozen sections,” Yang Ping stated his purpose.

In front of others, Wen Ru always seed arrogant and principled, but in front of Yang Ping, he always seed to lack confidence, stemming from the psychological shadow of that “streaking” incident.

It wasn’t the “streaking” that caused the psychological shadow, but rather Yang Ping, as a surgeon, demonstrated such exceptional pathology knowledge that he outclassed Wen Ruzheng. How arrogantly Wen Ruzheng once claid: Without , Wen Ruzheng, Sanbo’s pathology level would regress three years.

But after that radiation injury pathology diagnosis, Wen Ruzheng had studied all day, while Yang Ping only took minutes to identify the result. Yang Ping even scolded Wen Ruzheng for not reporting earlier, nearly causing a fatal mistake.

Since that incident, Wen Ruzheng had developed a psychological shadow of Yang Ping.

“Drink so water!”

Wen Ruzheng offered a cup of water with both hands, then took out a frozen slide from the constant temperature refrigeration cabinet and placed it on the microscope stage.

Yang Ping peered into the microscope, scrutinizing the frozen tissue section, which was of very high quality and showed little difference from the usual paraffin-embedded sections.

“Do you have any more frozen bone tissue sections?”

Yang Ping wanted to examine a few more. If all were of such quality, it could beco routine to prepare frozen sections of bone tissue. Additionally, frozen pathology could then be utilized during the surgery of bone tumors to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Wen Ruzheng took out several more slides from the freezer where the frozen sections were stored, placed them under the microscope, and fixed them. Yang Ping looked over each one, finding them all to be of exceptional quality.

It seems this was not just a lucky fluke; the fellow had put in considerable effort and conducted extensive research.

“Professor, what do you think?” asked Wen Ruzheng, waiting nearby with concern.

Yang Ping took another sip of water, “The quality of the sections is very high, this thod is feasible and can be widely applied.”

“The decalcification solution of nitric acid and the deacidification solution of sodium hydroxide, the concentrations of both solutions can still be improved. The dye you’re using is hematoxylin?” Yang Ping directly queried Wen Ruzheng.

Wen Ruzheng’s heart skipped a beat, wondering if Professor Yang also knew this thod, and then nodded, “Yes, I use hematoxylin to stain. Sections prepared with this thod have strong affinity for hematoxylin, and the effect is very stable.”

“The staining agent can also be further refined. The two points you just ntioned plus this one, all three issues could be improved. Once you do that, you could send your paper straight to a top international journal,” Yang Ping suggested.

Wen Ruzheng glanced around the room and didn’t see Li Guodong, thinking perhaps Li had secretly watched the entire process. Doctor Wen imdiately dismissed the idea; it was not possible, as he had closed the door at that ti, and Li Guodong couldn’t have seen anything. Even if Li had watched, he wouldn’t have understood.

But how did Professor Yang know all these details?

Wen Ruzheng braced himself and asked, “Professor Yang, how did you know how I deacidified the sections?”

The conventional deacidification procedure was not like this. As a surgeon, how could Yang Ping have the ti to research pathology?

“If you want results within half an hour, what else would you use if not sodium hydroxide for deacidification?” Yang Ping questioned him.

Wen Ruzheng felt embarrassed, his semi-divine status wasn’t just for show. History always repeats itself. In the past, he would spend an entire day researching while Yang Ping only needed a few minutes. Now, it seed history might be repeating itself.

Not only did Professor Yang know that sodium hydroxide was used for deacidification, but he also knew the current bottleneck was the concentration of sodium hydroxide, which Wen Ruzheng was trying to optimize in hopes of finding the best concentration.

Moreover, Wen Ruzheng wasn’t satisfied with the thod for decalcification. He was looking for a way to make a breakthrough.

“Could we chat privately when you’re free?” Wen Ruzheng asked, uncharacteristically ingratiating.

Yang Ping nodded, “When you’re free, co to my office, and we can research it together.”

Doctor Wen felt a secret joy, could it be that Professor Yang had so good ideas?

History had proven that this guy’s foundation in pathology was unfathomably deep, and Doctor Wen decided to take the ti to discuss it thoroughly with Doctor Yang.

Of course, he absolutely must not bet with him again. It wasn’t that he dared not run around the hospital without underwear three tis but rather—a gentleman does not stand under a dangerous wall.

Yang Ping also examined the frozen tissue sections. There really wasn’t much to see in the pathology departnt, so after a bit of conversation, a few sips of mineral water, they all returned.

Liang Fatty, who had followed the group, stayed behind with a favor to ask Doctor Wen:

“Doctor Wen, help out. I have an acquaintance who had a mole removal surgery in a local hospital, and the pathology report indicated lanoma. They said further amputation surgery is needed. He’s worried about the hospital’s capabilities down there, afraid they might bungle the amputation. After asking around, they said you, Wen Ruzheng, are Nandu Province’s leading young expert, so he wants you to take a look at the tissue section.”

Doctor Wen pulled out folded paper from his white gown and handed it to Liang Fatty, “Take a look at the consultation process and costs. If you agree, bring the tissue section and the person after work hours. Rember, it must be after work hours. If it’s the patient himself, bring his ID card. If it’s a relative, bring both the patient’s and their own ID cards.”

“Why so complicated? Can’t we just handle it privately without all this fuss?” Liang Fatty unfolded the paper, which had many boxes and stipulations.

Doctor Wen patted Liang Fatty on the shoulder, “It’s a dangerous world, and we can’t help but follow the rules. The process is mandatory, and fees will be charged; it’s called fee-paying consultation, and what’s paid is the consultation fee.”

“Alright, shall I book an appointnt with you in advance?” Liang Fatty realized it was futile to argue.

“Mhm!” Wen Ruzheng replied succinctly.

“Next ti I’ll bring you a pack of Soft Zhonghua, the real deal,” Liang Fatty promised.

Doctor Wen looked disdainful, “Cut it out, your Soft Zhonghua real? I compared the tobacco from what I buy at specialty stores to yours, and looked at the tobacco under the microscope. They are clearly different. Trying to fool ?”

“You—You—As for tobacco, different batches definitely vary. You don’t understand,” Liang Fatty said, imnsely embarrassed, trying to cover it up.

“Don’t ss with . To verify your cigarettes, I made dozens of tissue sections and spent days looking through the microscope. You doubt my appraisal skills?” Wen Ruzheng was unapologetic.

Liang Fatty looked around and whispered, “Lower your voice, don’t ruin my reputation. I’m not in the cigarette business, and I don’t know the deal with these cigarettes.”

Wen Ruzheng glared, “You’re not in the cigarette business, and you charged money?”

“Brother Wen, Brother Wen—” Liang Fatty wrapped his arm around Wen Ruzheng’s shoulder.

Wen Ruzheng didn’t pursue it further, “But on another note, those Soft Zhonghuas of yours suit my taste quite well, actually better than the real thing. Next ti, get more, let’s say ten packs. I’ll pay you. That’s separate from this matter, different things on their own terms.”

“Fair enough!” Liang Fatty gave a thumbs up.

“Brother Fat, I heard you got a girlfriend? I also heard you have a new little Japanese guy who has a dozen girlfriends. Did you learn so tricks from him?” Wen Ruzheng stared at Liang Fatty.

Fatty spoke in a low voice, “What little Japanese guy? He’s a fake Japanese, actually one of our own guys. Let’s have a al together when you’re free, get acquainted with him.”

“I’m asking you one thing—are his thods effective or not?”

“Why are you asking this?”
