Chapter 909: Chapter 795: Start Your Own Journal Chapter 909: Chapter 795: Start Your Own Journal The invitations for cooperation and visits to Yang Ping’s Laboratory were both subtly declined.

Dr. Liao was quite disappointed, and upon seeing Dr. Liao’s disheartened expression, both Director Zhou and Vice Principal Rong of Nandu dical University felt that Yang Ping was a bit excessive.

The man was an alumnus, and also a mber of the United States National Academy of Sciences, offering cooperation to help Nandu dical University. How could Yang Ping carelessly reject others? Didn’t it seem a bit arrogant?

Director Zhou, having spent a few years in the United States for his studies, had a profound understanding of Arican research capabilities. Stanford’s Stem Cells Institute is a world-class laboratory that generally doesn’t easily collaborate with other teams, especially not with Chinese universities or hospitals. With Dr. Liao facilitating this rare opportunity, it was indeed a once-in-a-lifeti chance.

Director Zhou looked at Dean Xia’s face, hoping he would say sothing, but Dean Xia seed to make no indication, tacitly accepting Yang Ping’s refusal.

Vice Principal Rong saw that no one from Sanbo Hospital had spoken up, what more could he say.

“Professor Yang—” Director Zhou wanted to give a private reminder.

Dean Xia kicked Director Zhou’s shoe lightly, then made a gesture with his eyes, suggesting not to interfere, for Yang Ping had his own plans.

Only Dean Xia understood clearly that refusing was normal; Yang Ping was a powerhouse with 13 CNS papers, and such a talent would also be top-tier in the United States. What would a mbership in the United States National Academy of Sciences an to him? Why should we mortals trouble our heads with the affairs of geniuses?

“Professor Yang, may I visit your skin expansion experint? We plan to replicate your experint, but the specific formula for the inducer was not discussed in your paper?” Dr. Liao asked, looking for another approach.

This ti, Yang Ping readily agreed, “Dr. Zhang, contact Director Tang to provide Dr. Liao with a complete set of inducers.”

Dr. Liao had thought he could obtain the formula, but Yang Ping only provided a ready-made biological agent, and selectively ignored the request for a visit.

The refusal to provide the formula for the inducers suggested that Professor Yang was a shrewd man; Dr. Liao ca to understand him better through their interactions.

Yang Ping had good reason to be extra cautious with his technology. Whether it’s the Aricans or the Japanese, they are actually more cunning than we imagine. There have been tis when we’ve had so advanced technologies, and under the guise of exchange and cooperation, they took all the materials, later claiming our technology was outdated. Yet, these “outdated” technologies would quietly beco theirs.

These people sotis take a condescending approach, offering to review your work, but during the review process, they extract technology, because many scientists believe that Europe and Arica must be more advanced. Therefore, they often lack confidence in their own technology and aren’t very protective of it.

Zhang Lin imdiately took note and started contacting Tang Shun on the spot to prepare a set of inducers as a gift for Professor Liao.

After talking to Yang Ping for a while without obtaining anything substantial, Dr. Liao toured the comprehensive surgical ward, followed by visits to several other laboratories in the hospital where Dean Xia introduced him to future lab plans.

In fact, Dr. Liao’s primary mission in coming back was to establish contact with Yang Ping in hopes of enticing him into cooperation and then luring him to the United States.

So the ultimate goal was talent scouting. The Aricans actually put a lot of thought into it, searching high and low until they found Professor Liao, whom they felt was most suitable. As a mber of the United States National Academy of Sciences with sufficiently high status and influential power, and as an alumnus of Nandu dical University, he had a connection making it convenient to approach Yang Ping, and it was all quite justifiable.

However, after probing, Yang Ping had no plans to cooperate at all and was very cool in response. Even visits were denied, clearly indicating his real thoughts on collaboration.

The others who had interactions with Professor Liao were different. They would have no doubts upon hearing the word “Stanford,” and all would be in admiration, but Yang Ping’s recent cold response made things difficult.

Dr. Liao knew his own laboratory was behind Yang Ping’s and hoped to exploit the authoritative advantages of Western technology. He insinuated that Yang Ping was on the wrong path in certain areas, to see if he could shake his confidence and lead him onto the path of cooperation.

As he was leaving, Dr. Liao said:

“Professor Yang, actually, the microscopic dissection you ntioned in your paper was brought up by Stanford’s Professor Weber a few years ago, but he later found that it wasn’t viable and changed research directions. Now they are far ahead in the field of Digital Human. I can offer a small favor by introducing you to visit their lab. Science knows no borders, and I’m sure they will agree.”

Dr. Liao brought up Professor Weber, a Nobel Prize winner.

The implication was clear: your technology is outdated, let us help you figure out what’s what.

Yang Ping smiled lightly, “The concept of microscopic dissection proposed by Professor Weber before is fundantally different from mine. He never really understood what microscopic dissection is, so naturally, he couldn’t propose the correct concept. It’s normal for him to hit a dead end when running on the wrong path.”

Questioning Professor Weber’s understanding of microscopic dissection? Was this young person really challenging a Nobel Prize winner?

“He is a Nobel Prize laureate,” Dr. Liao reminded.

Yang Ping laughed again, “Winning the Nobel Prize doesn’t directly relate to whether he understands microscopic dissection, just as my proficiency in surgery has no direct correlation with being adept at regulating blood sugar for diabetes.”

Before departing, in the doctor’s office, the two scholars began another debate, and others could only watch.
