Troy:
Every night had been intense. After two or three sessions, we were completely worn out and had fallen asleep in each other’s arms.
But as soon as morning broke, animal-like sounds began coming from the rooftop. Leysa and I quickly sat up in bed.
After our sessions, we had showered and changed clothes. Just in case a monster attacked and we had to defend ourselves in a hurry.
The mont we stepped off the bed, we rushed toward the living room.
That was when we realized everyone else had taken the sa precautions.
They were already showered and dressed, but had gone back to sleep afterward. Now the noise had woken them.
Haiden and Fauna ca down from the second floor.
When they looked at us, fear filled their eyes.
It was the sa fear reflected in all of ours. The loud thumping continued from above.
"I think there’s a monster upstairs," Yorick muttered, rising from the sofa.
Mariana also got up from the couch beside him.
She quickly adjusted her clothes and stood next to him.
We all stared upward, terrified of what kind of creature had climbed onto the roof. It sounded like it would bring the entire mansion down.
"Where are Clentine and Ian?" I asked.
My gaze swept over the group, and I noticed one couple was missing.
"Shit," Yorick cursed. "Look around."
We ran to the rooms and began searching. We opened one room after another, but each was empty.
Clentine and Ian were nowhere to be found.
anwhile, the monster-like sounds above grew louder. It felt as if a giant was stomping or jumping on the roof.
"We have to go up and check," Yorick urged. "What if they’re up there?"
As soon as he said that, Fauna grabbed her hair with both hands.
"I saw Ian taking a mattress upstairs last night," she said quickly. "I think they slept up there. And then the monster ca."
The mont she finished speaking, we rushed upstairs.
We grabbed whatever we could use as weapons. So of us picked up knives, others grabbed wooden logs.
Clutching them tightly, we charged upward. As we climbed, our hearts pounded harder and faster.
Finally, we reached the rooftop door. I stepped forward and slowly pushed it open. The instant I stepped onto the roof, I froze.
The others ca up behind and stopped as well. Haiden nearly crashed into my back.
We all stared at the scene before us.
A mattress lay in the center. Wrapped in a blanket were Ian and Clentine.
There was no monster.
They were having sex.
"Dude," I complained.
Clentine instantly turned her face away.
Ian, on the other hand, looked at us shalessly.
Thankfully, they were covered. I think they had already finished whatever monstrosity they were doing.
"What?" Ian protested, looking at us and gesturing for us to turn around so they could get dressed.
We all turned our backs.
"It was you two," I said. "We thought a giant was stomping on the roof."
As soon as I said it, I realized it had been Ian’s thrusts. They had sounded like a monster stomping across the rooftop.
Finally, when things settled down, we all turned toward them and began complaining.
"Don’t act like your voices weren’t reaching upstairs," Clentine retorted, defending herself and her beast of a mate.
"Our voices were normal," Yorick uttered. "It was obvious couples were mating with each other. Yours seed like a monster trying to bring the mansion down."
Yorick complained, and Haiden started nodding in agreent.
"Are you so kind of drill machine?" Haiden asked Ian.
Ian rolled his eyes.
Clentine looked at him then, like she was on our side.
Ian glanced at her and shrugged.
"Why are you looking at like that?" he protested.
"They’re not wrong," Clentine replied. "I an, you are pretty dangerous."
As soon as she said that, Ian’s cheeks began turning red. He awkwardly looked away.
"Anyway, let’s go inside before a real monster shows up," Ian said.
After saying that, he rushed past us and hurried down the stairs.
For a mont, we all looked at one another in silence before bursting into laughter.
I knew Yorick and Haiden were feeling slightly awkward. Now they would have to match all of that in front of their wives.
After that, we went downstairs and finished breakfast. It was decided that we would split into teams.
One team would head north and destroy the Dark Side tower there, and the other would take the opposite side.
"But I’ve never seen any towers on the Dark Side," Clentine said.
As soon as she spoke, I noticed Yorick and Mariana exchange a look.
That made feel like there was sothing else they were hiding from us.
"You probably didn’t look at the Dark Side carefully," Yorick told her.
Clentine slowly shook her head.
"Actually, I think I know the Dark Side better than this side," she replied.
The mont she said that, our mouths fell open.
"Ian and I were on the Dark Side before we ca here," she added. "We even got married there."
A smile appeared on Clentine’s face as she rembered the past.
I was surprised, too. She truly was impressive. After everything that had happened to her, the fact that she was ready to fight again so easily was seriously admirable.
And here she was, reminiscing about the good days.
"Oh really? Weren’t you scared?" Fauna asked, but the fear was visible in her eyes.
"So, I want to ask you sothing," Clentine said. "Yorick, is there anything you want to share before it’s too late?"
Then she shifted into her old crusader mode.
The way she began interrogating him made my heartbeat rise. If I were Yorick, I would have confessed secrets that were not even related to the questioning.
Yorick looked at Mariana. Mariana gave him a slight nod.
At that mont, I understood what Clentine was talking about.
"Yes, I lied," Yorick admitted.
As soon as he said it, Haiden and I glared at him.
