What the heck?
Su Xiaong blinked, unable to wrap her head around it.
Yin Shixiu saw her confused look and knew she had no idea.
He took a shallow breath, released the leather strap binding her wrists, and weakly got off the bed.
He straightened his clothes and walked out.
Su Xiaong blinked her tearful eyes, stared at the ceiling, and slowly organized her thoughts.
"I have bad intentions; every ti I see you, I want to be with you! When I see you getting along with that Ren Yixuan, I just want to break you two apart until you never see each other again!"
"I want to steal you away; that was my plan from the start! I did all of this just to achieve that goal!"
"Did she tell you that I have already offered to give up the position as the Family Head of the Yin Family and to forgo inheriting the family wealth in front of your in-laws?"
"Girl, can’t we just live well together... isn’t it possible?"
Su Xiaong sat up from the bed, rubbed her wrists, her face still marked with tear stains, her eyelashes still wet...
And then, with that pitiful look, suddenly broke into a smile!
The smile grew larger and larger! More and more unrestrained, more and more arrogant!
The corners of her mouth almost reached the back of her ears!
Her big eyes squinted into a line as she laughed!
Imdiately, soone turned over and lay on the bed, buried in the sheets, kicking their legs in delight!
She giggled non-stop, feeling fireworks exploding in her heart.
A tiny figure rolled around on the bed, delighted beyond words.
"Click," the door opened again.
Yin Shixiu wanted to grab his phone but saw Su Xiaong laughing on the bed like a mischievous Samoyed dog!
Seeing Yin Shixiu, she quieted down imdiately, looked at him with eyes that tried to hold back a smile but couldn’t.
Looking at her, Yin Shixiu was indeed... annoyed!
He took the phone and left with a cold face.
Then Su Xiaong started laughing again, both elated and excited!
Around seven, Su’s father and Su’s mother finally returned.
Su Xiaong fed the two children their milk before coming out of the room.
Su’s mother saw that although Su Xiaong’s eyes were swollen, her entire spirit was noticeably different.
Initially, she thought there was nothing wrong between the two, but then she glanced at Yin Shixiu, who still wore a cold face as he flipped through a magazine on the sofa.
"Have you had dinner yet?"
Su’s father and Su’s mother had eaten outside, so they asked Su Xiaong and Yin Shixiu.
Su Xiaong nodded energetically, "Yeah, I cooked so noodles!"
"Oh! ng ng cooked?"
Su’s father asked with a cheerful smile.
Su Xiaong glanced at Yin Shixiu, secretly whispered to her father, "My husband cooked them..."
The word "husband" was spoken quietly, so soone at Su’s mother’s position next to Yin Shixiu didn’t hear, but Yin Shixiu, who had been listening carefully, did.
He pretended to read the magazine nonchalantly, yet actually...
His heart was being pulled by every move of Su Xiaong.
He was purely angry, angry at himself for making such a mistake, for overcomplicating Su Xiaong’s simple mind!
Secondly, he was angry at Su Xiaong... if only she insisted on being a bit more upfront, these two weeks wouldn’t have escalated to this point.
After eight, Su Xiaong needed to bathe the babies, looked at Yin Shixiu, gave him a hint, but he remained with a cold face, so she turned to her mother...
Her mom nudged Su Chengji next to her.
Su Chengji quickly stood up and went along with Su Xiaong to bathe the babies.
Su’s mother and Yin Shixiu sat in the living room. It was then she spoke, "Have you made up?"
Yin Shixiu put down the magazine, smiled helplessly, "I don’t want to divorce her... so we have to make up."
Su’s mother chuckled, she sensed that both were at fault, but Xiao ng must be the more difficult one to handle.
"That day at the Yin Family, I could tell from your mother’s words that deep down she believes you and Xiao ng aren’t a good match."
"Honestly, I feel the sa way. It’s just that... I hope there cos a day when you can tell , even though you and Xiao ng are worlds apart, you’re still very happy."
Yin Shixiu pursed his lips.
"Between you two, be it accidental coincidences or whatever, marrying ans committing to walk hand in hand with each other."
"Frankly speaking, marriage should be about equality, mutual understanding, mutual support, and equivalent contributions. Although this theory is reasonable, it’s impractical."
Su’s mother slowly said, "Take you and Xiao ng, you’re a socially elite in your early thirties, highly intelligent, noble, having travelled the world, but Xiao ng is a student who didn’t even finish college, from an ordinary family, aside from traveling, she’s only been to Beijing and Chengdu. She’s not smart, and her personality is quirky..."
"But it was you who chose her in the first place, it was you who promised in front of to treat her well, to not let her down—so you have to guide her, tolerate her."
"You two were different worlds from the start; conflicts in opinions and differences in thoughts are inevitable! This isn’t only clear to you; Xiao ng also understands. The day she ca back from Beijing, she told , mom, I don’t want to love Yin Shixiu anymore... loving him is so exhausting..."
"But when you chased her to Chengdu, she didn’t imdiately forget what she said, instead, she was also willing to make so compromises for you."
"In the end, whether you’ll get your mother’s words ’I knew it wouldn’t last’ or her changed view, depends on you two, but primarily on you."
"Shixiu, even though you’ve excelled in the business world, in love, or any other arena before, marriage... still requires careful consideration."
Yin Shixiu rested his head on his hand.
How could he not understand these things?
But hearing Su’s mother lay it out like old sayings at this mont also helped clear his mind a bit.
Thinking back, the fuss between him and Su Xiaong... was really childish!
I feel... like I’ve regressed to a three-year-old’s intelligence.
After Huang Huang and Shuangshuang finished their baths, Su Xiaong also washed herself nice and clean.
When Yin Shixiu ca in, she was sitting on the edge of the bed with her back to the door, gently rocking the crib and humming a tune to lull the children to sleep.
Her half-dried hair was flowing down her back... unknowingly, it had grown past her shoulders.
Just this scene alone made Yin Shixiu’s heart soften.
As if sensing soone’s gaze, Su Xiaong turned her head and t eyes with Yin Shixiu standing at the door...
For a mont, neither spoke...
"Finished your bath?"
Yin Shixiu asked.
Su Xiaong nodded slightly.
"Then I’ll go take one..."
"...Okay."
Yin Shixiu took so clothes and went into the bathroom.
Su Xiaong put Shuangshuang and Huang Huang to sleep, and when Yin Shixiu finished his bath and ca out, his hair was also half-dried.
He walked over to look into the crib, where the two little darlings were tightly embracing each other, their limbs entwined, and he chuckled softly.
Su Xiaong grinned at Yin Shixiu...
Yin Shixiu glanced at her, said nothing, and got into bed to lie down.
He turned off the light and closed his eyes.
Su Xiaong lay beside him, her eyes open... and didn’t close them for a long ti.
"Uncle..."
"Are you asleep?"
"...Yes."
Su Xiaong giggled again, under the covers her hand touched Yin Shixiu’s hand...
"Uncle..."
"Do you really like that much?"
Yin Shixiu opened his eyes, raising an eyebrow.
What’s with that smug tone?
Su Xiaong turned on her side, moved an inch closer to him, and still in that smug tone, whispered, "I like you so much... so much that I don’t even care about money or power?"
Yin Shixiu closed his eyes, wanting to ignore her.
Su Xiaong knew he wasn’t asleep and turned on the bedside lamp.
Yin Shixiu frowned slightly.
He slightly opened his eyes and was t with Su Xiaong’s extraordinarily bright smile...
She propped her chin on her hand, playfully nodded her head, and asked curiously, "Uncle, where did you hide your copy of the contract? Was it in the apartnt in Beijing?"
Just ntioning the contract made Yin Shixiu’s already sensitive nerves jump a little.
"I looked for it everywhere but couldn’t find it..."
Yin Shixiu just watched her mutter to herself.
"Actually, when I saw you tear up the contract in my hand, I felt so relieved inside... You have no idea, ever since I gave birth to Shuangshuang and Huang Huang, I’ve been thinking about it..."
Su Xiaong pouted, blinking her starry eyes, "I was just afraid that you’d suddenly bring out the contract and tell ... that it’s expired, and we should... get divorced."
Yin Shixiu’s heart suddenly tightened.
He didn’t even know... that this was what she thought.
"You see, we’re not from the sa world, right? I don’t dare to think too far ahead, besides... it was a contract that got us married in the first place. I know you’re good to , but I was just afraid that... you’re good to everyone..."
Since he is a well-mannered person, how could she distinguish his kindness towards her from how he treated others...
How to have the confidence... to believe that his goodness to her was entirely based on love?
"But if I kept dragging it out without bringing it up, I felt like I’d suffocate from the suppression..."
"But if I brought it up all of a sudden, asking if we could not get divorced... Actually... I’ve grown very fond of you, and I don’t want to part with you..."
Yin Shixiu’s heart skipped a beat at this mont.
Su Xiaong continued, "If you didn’t intend to keep with , but I confessed to you, and then you rejected harshly... wouldn’t that be really embarrassing for ..."
She blinked, "Why aren’t you saying anything?"
Su Xiaong frowned, threateningly said, "If you don’t say anything, I’m going to take liberties with you!"
"Uncle—Hey!"
Before she could finish speaking, she was pulled onto him!
Su Xiaong leaned on his chest, startled, looking at him in horror, "Wha-what are you doing?"
In the darkness, Yin Shixiu’s eyes shone like stars.
"Go ahead."
"Wha-what?"
"Weren’t you going to take liberties with ?"
He smiled, pulling her down by the neck, and began to be "taken liberties with."
Their intimate mont was interrupted by Shuangshuang and Huang Huang with a couple of odd little cries!
Su Xiaong turned her head to see the siblings in the crib staring with big eyes, on the verge of tears.
She put on so clothes, glared fiercely at Yin Shixiu, who put on his pants and walked over to the crib, looking at the two little ones who didn’t look too happy.
