The mont Lin Feng stepped into the gray mist, his vision shrank abruptly.
Visibility was less than twenty ters; the rock walls on both sides, the scattered stones underfoot, and the sky overhead were all swallowed by the grayish-white mist.
Sounds also beca muffled; his own footsteps and breathing felt as if they were separated by a thick layer of cotton.
But he did not stop walking.
He had been to the outskirts of the Crying Rift Valley many tis, and the terrain was already etched into his mind.
To the left was a steep rock wall, and to the right was a dried-up riverbed.
As long as he walked up the riverbed, he could bypass the areas where Goblins and Trolls frequented.
It led straight to the open valley in the middle of the Rift Valley.
He quickened his pace, his figure moving silently through the mist.
Occasionally, rustling sounds ca from both sides of the riverbed.
Those were the sounds of Goblins rummaging in their nests or Trolls grinding their teeth.
He ignored them and pressed straight ahead. The experience from these low-level monsters was no longer worth his while; killing them would be a waste of ti.
After walking for about 20 minutes, the riverbed took a turn, and the path ahead opened up.
The mist thinned slightly here, and visibility barely extended to thirty ters.
Lin Feng slowed down, crouched behind a boulder, and peeked out.
Twenty ters ahead, a patrol was walking along the riverbed.
Leading them was an Orc riding a giant Wolfmount, fully armored, the wolf's mouth fitted with an iron bit and its fangs a stark white.
Behind him followed ten Direwolf Cavalry; the gray direwolves' steps were silent, and the riders held scimitars, their eyes warily scanning the surroundings.

Lin Feng lay behind the rock, motionless.
Direwolves had a keen sense of sll, but he had applied a breath-masking potion prepared by Pharmacist Zhou; as long as he didn't get too close, he shouldn't be detected.
The patrol passed ten ters in front of him, and the Direwolf Vanguard's gaze swept over the boulder where he was hiding, pausing for a mont.
Lin Feng held his breath. The Orc didn't seem to notice anything unusual and urged the Wolfmount to continue forward.
The sound of footsteps gradually faded away.
Lin Feng stood up and continued deeper.
Over the next li, he encountered three more patrols. One was a squad of ten Direwolf Cavalry;
The other two were Orc Infantry, twenty per squad, led by an Orc Centurion.

All were level 20.
Lin Feng complained inwardly. At these levels, it beca harder and harder to level up, and high-level monsters were too rare.
His current experience bar was still a long way off; killing these level 20 elites gave him no experience at all!
He [N O V E L I G H T] needed to find isolated targets of a higher level.
After advancing another li, an orange-red glow flickered in the mist. It was a campfire.
Lin Feng stayed low and approached silently.
The firelight grew closer, and through the mist, he saw a crude camp.
A campfire burned in the center of the camp, with a large pot set over it. Sothing was stewing inside, bubbling and emitting a sll mixed with raw at and herbs.
Around the campfire, ten Orc Archers sat or stood, lazily guarding the camp.
And at the very back of the camp, a massive figure sat leaning against a rock.
It was a Troll. Nearly three ters tall, its grayish-green skin was covered in scars. On its back was a massive bow with limbs thicker than Lin Feng's arm, and its arrows were like short spears.

Lin Feng's eyes lit up.
A level 25 elite; its experience value was much higher than a normal level 25 monster.
Furthermore, this squad was isolated, with no other patrols nearby.
He silently drew his Wildfire Spear and adjusted his angle in the mist.
The Troll Archer had its back to him, reaching into the pot to pull out a piece of at, which it stuffed into its mouth, chewing until grease ran down its face.
Lin Feng raised his right hand, and three streaks of Blazing Spear Light shot from the tip of the spear! The crimson light tore through the gray mist, fast as a falling star!
The Troll Archer had no ti to react at all; all three spear lights hit! -230! -220! -222!
The Troll let out a muffled groan, its massive body jerking violently as its health bar instantly plumted to a sliver!
It struggled to stand, reaching for the giant bow on its back, but Lin Feng had already rushed in front of it!
The Wildfire Spear turned into a streak of dark red lightning, piercing straight for the throat!
Pfft!
-350!
The Troll Archer's movents froze. Its hand stopped mid-air, just an inch away from the giant bow.
Then, that massive body crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Lin Feng retracted his spear and glanced at his experience bar. Still four thousand short.
He turned to look at the ten Orc Archers. They had just realized what was happening and were scrambling to notch their arrows and draw their bows.
But the distance was too short; Archers in close combat were like lambs to the slaughter.
Lin Feng charged in with his spear.
Two stabs per kill, two stabs per kill. In less than ten breaths, all ten Orc Archers were dead.
He bent down to pick up the four green crystals dropped by the Troll Archer, tucked them into his robe, and continued forward.
After walking for another 10 minutes or so, a strong sll—a mix of sweat and blood—wafted from ahead.
Lin Feng lay on a piece of high ground, pushed aside the withered grass in front of him, and looked down.
The open valley appeared before his eyes.
The gray mist thinned here, and visibility expanded to nearly a hundred ters.
In the center of the valley, a massive creature was moving slowly; it was a Mammoth War Elephant, over ten ters tall, draped in heavy iron armor, with barbed iron blades tied to its tusks that glinted coldly in the firelight.
On its back was a wooden arrow tower, where the figures of two Troll Archers could be faintly seen.
【Mammoth War Elephant · Level 30 elite】
Surrounding the Mammoth War Elephant were dense crowds of Orc Infantry.
So were setting up tents, so were sharpening weapons, and so sat around campfires gnawing on bones.
At a glance, there were at least five or six hundred of them.
Lin Feng withdrew his gaze and quietly backed away.
It wasn't that he couldn't defeat this level 30 elite Mammoth War Elephant along with the Troll Archers on its back and the hundreds of Orc Infantry surrounding it, but there was no need to force his way through.
The density of the patrols was too high; once a fight started, the commotion would be too great and might attract even more enemies. He needed to find isolated ones.
He changed direction and continued searching along the edge of the valley.
At four in the morning, he found another squad of isolated Troll Archers.
Using the sa sneak-attack tactic: starting with three streaks of spear light, then closing in for the harvest.
Four green crystals were obtained, and his experience bar rose a bit more.
At five in the morning, he walked up a dried-up stream and suddenly heard footsteps ahead.
Lin Feng dodged behind a boulder and peeked out.
Twenty ters away, a patrol was walking along the stream.
Ten Orc Archers were scattered on both sides, with a Troll Archer nearly three ters tall in the middle.

This is the one. Once I kill this, the experience will be enough.
