Lin Feng withdrew his gaze and looked at Zhang Ping, his voice steadying: "The families of the fallen must be treated well."
Pensions should be distributed according to the previously set standards. For families in difficulty, do your best to resolve their issues.
For children who need to attend school, arrange for them to go to the county school;
For the elderly with no one to care for them, arrange for people to visit them regularly. Don't let them feel like no one cares once soone has died."
Zhang Ping nodded vigorously, quickly taking notes in the register: "Yes, Lord. I will see to it imdiately."
"Also," Lin Feng paused, "the nas of the fallen Beacon Guards should be engraved on the monunt behind the Council Hall. Don't let them die in vain."
Zhang Ping's eyes reddened slightly, his voice a bit choked: "Yes, Lord."
Lin Feng waved his hand: "Go on."
Zhang Ping cupped his fists, turned, and strode out of the Council Hall.
His figure paused for a mont at the door before quickly disappearing into the sunset.
Lin Feng sat in the main seat, silent for a long ti. The docunts spread out on the table were not yet finished, but he could no longer focus on them.
He stood up, walked to the window, and gazed at the sky outside.
The sunset dyed the horizon a dark red, very similar to the color of last night's blood moon, yet different.
Last night was a thick, heart-palpitating red; today was a warm, reassuring red.
Lin Feng withdrew his gaze, turned back to the table, sat down, and continued processing the unfinished docunts.
After signing the last one, he stood up and went to the second floor.
The territory core floated in the center of the room, its dark golden glow appearing exceptionally warm in the twilight.
He walked over and touched it. A light screen unfolded before him, and he checked the resource reserves: fifty Copper Ingots, fifty Tin Ingots.
Then he closed it.
Turning to leave the Lords Mansion, he took a walk through Fenghuo County to check on the situation of the newly settled subjects.
The temporary camp was neatly set up, and the Refugees had already been given dry rations and water.
So were queuing to register, so were setting up tents, and so sat under trees in a daze, their faces still carrying the blankness of survivors.
Zhang Ping handled things efficiently; everything was in good order.
Lin Feng then visited the craftsn's district. Shen Mochuan's Tailor shop had been tidied up; he was standing at the door organizing his tools and nodded to Lin Feng from a distance.
Lin Feng stood there for a while without disturbing him, then turned and left.
By the ti he returned to the second floor of the Council Hall, it was already ten o'clock at night.
His body was a bit weary, but his mind remained clear.
He lay down on the bed, intending to just nap for a while, but unconsciously drifted off to sleep.
When he opened his eyes again, the sky outside was already starting to brighten.
He sat up and checked the system ti: six in the morning.
Calculating the ti, it was ti to return to Blue Star; there was also the Lords Assembly, and he couldn't be late.
The mont his consciousness withdrew, a familiar sense of weightlessness hit him.
Countless fragnted images flashed before his eyes: the city walls, the blood moon, the Yellow Turban Army, the Beacon Guards, Shen Mochuan, and fifteen hundred Elite Soldierss in training...
Finally, it settled on the entrance of the mine in North Slope Village, dark and deep, like an eye opened by the earth.
He opened his eyes to see a familiar ceiling—Villa No. 7, Lords Ho, Rongcheng.
...
Villa No. 7, Lords Ho, Rongcheng.
Outside the window was a gray sky. From downstairs ca the aroma of his mother's cooking and the sound of his father watching TV in the living room.
Everything was as usual, as if the slaughter under last night's blood moon was just a distant dream.
He sat up and rubbed his temples.
The dizziness from withdrawing his consciousness from the Nightmare World hadn't fully faded, and images of the city walls, the blood moon, and the Yellow Turban Army still lingered in his mind.
He took a deep breath, suppressed those images, and got up to go downstairs.
His mother was busy in the kitchen. The pot on the stove was bubbling, and the aroma of braised pork filled the entire house.
His father sat on the living room sofa, remote in hand, boredly flipping through channels.
Seeing Lin Feng co down, his father muted the TV and looked him over: "You're back? You don't look too well."
"I'm fine, just a bit tired." Lin Feng sat down next to his father.
His mother poked her head out of the kitchen, spatula in hand, a smile on her face:
"Back? Just in ti, dinner is almost ready. I made your favorite braised pork today, and sweet and sour ribs."
Lin Feng smiled: "Mom, you're trying to fatten up like a pig."
"What's wrong with that? With all the fighting and killing you do over there every day, how can you eat anything good?"
His mother muttered and retreated back into the kitchen.
His father turned off the TV, leaned back on the sofa, and remained silent for a while before speaking: "Last night... how was it?"
Lin Feng knew what his father was asking. He thought for a mont and said, "We held it. So people died, but the territory is still there."
His father nodded and didn't ask further.
He didn't understand much about the Nightmare World, but he knew his son was doing important things, and as long as his son could sit next to him every ti he returned, it ant everything was okay.
The al was served quickly. Four dishes and a soup: braised pork, sweet and sour ribs, stir-fried seasonal vegetables, # Nоvеlight # scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and a bowl of seaweed and egg drop soup.
His mother kept piling food into Lin Feng's bowl until it was overflowing.
"Eat more, you definitely don't eat well over there."
"Mom, that's enough, I can do it myself."
His father slowly sipped his liquor on the side, occasionally chiming in with "Your mother is right," before falling silent again.
Lin Feng ate and chatted with his parents about daily life.
His mother said the neighbor's dog had puppies and asked if he wanted to raise one.
He smiled and agreed, but his mind was on tonight's Lords Assembly.
After finishing the al, he helped his mother clear the dishes and then went upstairs to his room.
Closing the door, the quiet in the room ford a sharp contrast with the lively atmosphere downstairs.
He sat at his desk and checked the ti: exactly seven in the evening.
There was still an hour until the Lords Assembly.
He turned on the holographic projection device on his desk, connected to Blue Star's internet, and began browsing forums and news.
News of the Nightmare World had already exploded online, with posts everywhere discussing last night's double Nightmare Tide.
He casually clicked on the most popular post, titled "Reviewing Last Night's God-Tier Lord Maneuvers."
The post listed several of the most dazzling lords globally:
A middle-aged blond man from the USA who single-handedly held a section of the city wall;
A white-haired man from Europa who fought a Rare Boss alone and finally completed a solo kill.
And ranked first was him, Lin Feng.
【Did you all see the broadcast of Fenghuo County last night? One person slaughtered his way through five thousand Yellow Turban Army soldiers! Two Rare Bosses, one spear strike for each! That damage, that speed—I still haven't recovered from the shock!】
【I saw it! I took screenshots the whole ti; every fra is a wallpaper!】
【Lin Feng has only been awakened for about a hundred days, right? From a newcor to a county-level lord in just over a hundred days? This speed is just too ridiculous.】
【Third Rank in just over a hundred days? I've been awakened for ten years and I'm still at the first advancent. Comparison truly is the thief of joy...】
【Brother upstairs, I've been at it for ten years and I'm only level five. I have to go back to the Nightmare World to mine in a bit...】
【Is this humblebragging?】
