At 7:01 AM, Lin Feng ca down from the second floor, pushed open the door of the Council Hall, and walked along the main street toward the comrcial district.
Lucky Town had already woken up in the early morning, with wisps of cooking smoke rising from the chimneys of the residential area.
The clanging of the blacksmith shop drifted from the end of the street, a short queue had ford in front of the breakfast stalls, and the fragrance of fried dough cakes and hot soup wafted through the air.
But today, there were more unfamiliar faces on the street than in previous days.
Groups of Adventurers wearing white leather armor and carrying white weapons were scattered about; so were squatting by the roadside munching on dry rations, so were leaning against walls organizing their backpacks, and so were looking around at the intersection as if searching for their way.
As Lin Feng walked past them, he silently counted in his head.
On this road of less than four hundred ters from the Council Hall to the Adventurers Guild, he saw at least seventy Adventurers.
Estimating by this density, the number of Adventurers in the entire town had likely already exceeded five hundred.
He muttered to himself: Why did so many people suddenly pop up?
"Buddy, did you guys also co over from Xinyue County?"
An Adventurer with a longbow on his back was squatting on the steps, biting a piece of jerky as he spoke indistinctly to the person next to him.
"You bet!" the one next to him holding a short sword replied, tapping his scabbard against the ground.
"The first floor of the Beacon Fire Territory Dungeon is open to all Adventurers. Although you need to take a quest to enter the second floor and above, the Skeleton Soldiers on the first floor alone are enough for us to grind. They're low-level, respawn fast, and the Gray Crystals they drop accumulate pretty quickly."
"It's just that there are too few quests; you can't even snatch a spot for the second floor or higher. Beacon Fire Territory's own Adventurers get priority, and only what's left goes to us. I ca to queue at three in the morning and didn't manage to grab a Gathering Task until seven."
The longbowman sighed.
"I've got it worse than you. I didn't get a quest yesterday, so it was a wasted trip. I stayed in town for a night and spent five copper coins on lodging," the short-sword wielder said with a bitter smile.
The longbowman swallowed the last bite of jerky: "Still, thinking about it, it's worth it. The Skeleton Soldiers on the first floor are unlimited; the Gray Crystals dropped from just killing monsters cover the costs."
"Then you'd better pray Beacon Fire Territory doesn't seal off the first floor too. I heard they're currently organizing people to clear the fifth floor. If they beat it, they might restrict the lower floors to 'Beacon Fire Territory Adventurers Only.' When that happens, we won't even get a chance to have a taste of the soup."
The short-sword wielder patted his shoulder.
"Well, nothing can be done about that. It's their Dungeon, they call the shots," the longbowman said, shrinking his neck.
A female Adventurer nearby who was tying her greaves looked up and gave them both a sidelong glance: "Stop complaining, you two. It's already good enough that we have a place to grind."
"I heard that for the Dungeons over in the Daxia North Pole Region, unless they belong to your territory or are jointly developed, Adventurers from other territories aren't allowed in at all, and they don't even let you take quests."
"In comparison, Beacon Fire Territory is quite generous. At least the first floor is open to everyone, and they still leave so spots for the higher floors for us."
The short-sword wielder and the longbowman nodded simultaneously and stopped talking.
Lin Feng's mouth twitched slightly as he walked past them and turned into the Adventurers Guild.
As he walked, he muttered to himself: Back then, he had discovered that there were simply too many Skeleton Soldiers on the first floor of the Dungeon, and they respawned too quickly.
So he had ng Yi lift the restrictions on the first floor, thinking that rather than letting the resources go to waste...
It would be better to let outside Adventurers help clear them out while also bringing so popularity to Lucky Town.
He hadn't expected that this opening would bring so many people.
He pulled back his thoughts and pushed open the doors of the guild.
There were long queues inside.
The giant light-screen panel behind Selina was covered with quest slips, and Adventurers were crowded in front of the counter.
Looking up, so were standing on their tiptoes, so were holding binoculars, and others were pulling out small notebooks to quickly record quest numbers.
Tie Dun stood in the most prominent position at the counter and shouted at the top of his lungs: "Make way! Make way! Our Lord is here! Clear a path!"
A # Nоvеlight # young Adventurer in the queue muttered softly: "This Lord really puts on quite a show."
A companion next to him quickly poked him: "Shh, do you not want to make a living in Beacon Fire Territory anymore?"
As soon as Lin Feng appeared, the Adventurers at the guild entrance automatically cleared a path.
Soone recognized the Wildfire Spear on his back and said softly: "Lord Lin is here."
The voice wasn't loud, but everyone around heard it.
Silence spread like a ripple from the entrance outward, and the Adventurers queuing at the counter turned their heads.
Seeing the figure carrying the dark-red spear, they all stepped aside, yielding the path to the counter.
Lin Feng walked up to the counter.
Selina was still sitting behind the counter, her deep blue uniform spotless and her short hair combed ticulously.
She stood up, pressed her right hand to the badge on her left chest, and bowed slightly: "The stars guide the way, writing epics. Lord, you have arrived."
Lin Feng nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the quest board behind the counter: "Long ti no see, Selina."
Selina replied with a smile: "Indeed, Lord, it has been so days since you last visited. You look much more spirited than last ti."
Lin Feng said no more, pulling the silver dal of the Beacon Fire Squad from his robe and placing it on the counter.
The silver-white dal glowed with a soft luster under the lights, and the four words 'Beacon Fire Squad' on the back were clearly visible.
"Promote to Gold Rank," Lin Feng said.
Selina picked up the dal and pressed it into a square slot beneath the counter.
The runes on the dal's surface lit up, gradually changing from silver-white to a pale gold.
She handed the dal back to Lin Feng and smiled: "Beacon Fire Squad, Gold Rank. Congratulations, Lord."
Lin Feng took the dal and glanced at the attribute panel.
【Beacon Fire Squad Gold dal】
【Rank: Gold Rank】
【Effect: Within a twenty-ter radius of the dal, squad mbers' HP 150】
【Validity: 29 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes】
【Squad: Beacon Fire Squad】
An HP increase of one hundred and fifty was fifty more than the Silver Rank.
It wasn't a lot, but one doesn't complain about free bonuses.
He tucked away the gold dal and turned toward the stairs.
Tie Dun had already squeezed over to the stairs, blocking several Adventurers who wanted to go up, still shouting: "Make way, make way! Our Lord is going upstairs!"
Zhao Hu, Wang Wu, Arrow Eye, Su Yurou, A Wang, Scarface Liu, and Jiang Yelan stood up from the lounge area and followed Lin Feng's lead.
As the eight of them walked toward the stairs, the surrounding Adventurers proactively made space.
The second floor was quieter than the first, but there were still many people.
A dozen or so people stood before a row of glass display cases, so leaning over to look, others squatting down.
So were pulling out notebooks to copy down the nas and prices of the Class Change Books inside the cases.
