Now reading: Chapter 214 - 214 42 The Mastermind and the Perils of Beauty from Surviving The Fourth Calamity, a Game novel by Naxilia.

214: Chapter 42 The Mastermind and the Perils of Beauty 214: Chapter 42 The Mastermind and the Perils of Beauty The demons indeed made their move.

And it was a frenzied one, almost all of them charging towards the city walls at the sa ti.

“It seems that high-level demons are afraid of the Space-Ti Warlock skill,” Fran remarked with a sigh, “as expected, teaming up with idiots only leads to a dismal end.”

Hill understood why Fran would say that, after all, among the Undead Tribe’s magical professions, the most nurous were actually priests!

It was only within the so-called PVP factions like Black and White Path that the number of priests seed to be comparable to that of mages.

They had adapted to it, in such player versus player factions, if you couldn’t earn the pity of a priest, you had no choice but to die and die again in the ga.

But when you expand this to the entire player base, being a priest was already many girls’ profession of choice.

Especially in a ga where mages had to expend a lot of willpower on calculations, there were bound to be even more priests.

If you were to judge the total number of priests from the entire player base based on that battle at Black and White Path, it’s no wonder these demons were foolhardy enough to charge straight in, facing almost six rows of priests.

The priests swiftly rose in ranks, and Hill admired the designer of the city wall—was this a stage lift?

There was no need for priests to find their own positions; all they had to do was wait below.

Mages and priests stood in alternating rows.

Amidst the flying snow, the golden glows of Holy Rain fell upon each demon.

The demons’ wails and screams did not cause any wavering among the players.

The demons, desperately trying to turn tail and flee, had their movent slowed by the blizzard.

Covered in wounds, they tumbled and scrambled, and only more than half of the high-level demons managed to escape the range of the two spells.

“More than a million high priests!

And this is only a part of them,” Fran dropped the pen in his hand, “What on earth are the demons relying on to dare an attack on Saral?”

Thunderous roars echoed distantly.

Hill sharply sensed a tremor coming from the earth, from the south.

“The factory exploded!” The shouts from the Undead below inford the puzzled duo that there was collusion from within.

Fran was imdiately filled with rage and stood up abruptly.

Keslow’s Alchemy Factory, even though custom-made by William, was also the fruit of Fran’s labor.

He was fascinated by the long assembly lines and would have built one in his Magic Tower if it weren’t completely unnecessary.

“Who was it?

Which factory?” Hill hastily leaned out the window to shout below, “Have they been caught?”

“All blown up!” Snow Cloud Peak responded, “A forr slave of the Saral Royal Family did it!

They’ve been caught.”

“What about the instigator?” Fran asked with a grave tone, “Who?”

“Hmm~ The Church of the God of Craftsn!” Snow Cloud Peak’s face showed bewildernt, “How could it be them?”

Fran’s fury was completely scattered by this shocking revelation—how could the God of Smithing and Craft jump out?

It was indeed understandable now why there were so many Alchemical Bombs.

“Who helped them bring it inside?” Hill was puzzled.

Such an explosion could have blasted all of Keslow, and William wasn’t a fool—a freed slave does not necessarily fully appreciate or adore him.

How could it have been so easy for them to smuggle the explosives in?

“Let check,” Snow Cloud Peak scratched his head, “the one managing the factory was William’s forr Personal Mage!”

“No,” Rain Falling on Mortal Dust took a breath, “it was the one previously assigned to William by the old king, just like our court physicians, specially making Alchemy Potions for him.

Though he’s claid to have followed William for many years, he always stayed in the Magic Tower and didn’t even accompany him to the territories.

William didn’t seem to use his potions, but since he had always been around, he was given a task and a title all the sa.

The affairs were actually handled by the deputies.”

“Hidden deep, huh!” Snow Cloud Peak exclaid, looking up at Hill, “Don’t worry, that guy was always a bit off.

There are many places in the Royal Palace he couldn’t enter.”

So, this was what being ‘Yellow Na’ in your eyes ant?

“How are the others?” Hill asked, his voice strained.

“Who?”

“How did the other workers in the factory fare?”

Snow Cloud Peak glanced at Hill with surprise, then typed sothing on his tablet.

“Only a few dozen were unlucky,” he said looking up, “Skilled workers are hard to train, and those who blew up the factory didn’t an they didn’t want the workers.

It’s their break ti now, most of them are in the cafeteria eating.”

Hill nodded, thanked Snow Cloud Peak, and then sat down beside the table.

Compared to tens of thousands of workers losing their lives, perhaps this outco was already a good one, but Hill knew very well that if William hadn’t tempted the demons into acting, those people wouldn’t have cared about a few more deaths.

Fran gently patted Hill’s head: “Don’t take it too hard.

It might be too cruel, but to those people, the lives of others are always worthless trash.”

Fran looked up at the massive screen outside: “His Majesty the King suddenly letting the hidden Space-Ti Warlocks take action must have received so news.

Cassel isn’t worth his direct engagent.

Perhaps he doesn’t know what danger there is, but he would rather let his factories be destroyed completely, choosing to save the lives of the people.

No wonder you’ve always respected His Majesty the King.

He might be the only king in this world who would choose to sacrifice his own property.”

“Hasn’t he already beco a deity?” Hill was truly puzzled, “That is the Divine Realm, after all!

And there’s the God of Ti and Space!

What kind of power could have blinded such a powerful deity.”
