Chapter 870: Chapter 666: The End of the Battle of Demons
Sotis the world is very interesting; the demon followers that the Grand Temples can’t find no matter how hard they try are easily identified by the demons themselves.
Of course, Chil wasn’t foolish enough to simply bring out his subordinates. Although he kept recruiting, the Double-headed Baboon followers were always prepared for a perfect escape even if they had to expose themselves.
The noble lords wouldn’t exert much effort against demon followers because that would be risking their lives, and the Temple Army has limited capabilities and can’t deal with multiple enemies simultaneously.
When using other demon henchn to cover themselves, the Double-headed Baboon followers chose Six Fingers’ subordinates first, and Devil worshippers second.
If there was still no ti, they would not hesitate to sell out other demon or Evil God’s followers, as their masters did not have any good relationships.
As Chil’s summoning grew more intense, they even dared to expose Shaer’s people.
Under this peculiar spiritual guidance, the Ferun Great Land beca very lively, and it was the first ti people discovered how many types of demon followers and Devil worshippers there were.
At least, the rigid demon records of the Righteous Knights had beco utterly worthless, as the only ones they had identified from their checkboxes were either falsely accused unfortunates or the lowest tiers among demon followers.
Many nobles were delighted about this, unaffected even if their peers, major suppliers, or even so beloved socialites were arrested because of it.
Hill and Coron remained silent; neither considered seeking out these detestable demon servants.
Only soone who grasped control over all demon prince followers on the Toril Continent could cause such a substantial commotion. For the increasing petitions from the temples, Hill and Coron might consider tolerating for a while.
However, Hill still did not understand why these demon followers kept coming; this wasn’t truly a gaming world where NPCs automatically showed up based on player limits.
Yet Chil, known for his cunning, was indeed gradually enhancing the power of the demon followers sent.
Faced with Hill’s earnest inquiry, Coron laughed and replied, “Dimogogan never cares about followers on the Pri Material Plane; to him, these fellows are rely experintal materials.
In his eyes, the Undead Tribe is like the Elental Puppets I created; he’s undoubtedly itching to know their endurance limits, and if he can apply a similar thod to demons.
Chil’s task is to observe the Undead Tribe’s combat thods and varied performances, rather than truly confront Agleya City.
So he absolutely wouldn’t dare to send too many subordinates at once; dealing with these imbeciles is no effort at all for either you or .
If not for considering your concern for Agleya City, I wouldn’t tolerate evil forces near my territory; otherwise, I wouldn’t insist on keeping you here.”
Hill thanked Coron for being considerate; he could never let anything happen to the city nad after his beloved daughter. What if the temple in Agleya got corrupted?
The Sea God, with destructive powers, is, in a way, easily tempted toward evil, as even a slight hand movent could kill millions or tens of millions.
Learning good requires persistence, but going bad might occur in an instant, so Hill always remained cautious in this regard.
Moreover, Hill knew that Chil wasn’t truly insane; there were no appearances of the Great Nobility among those caught.
With Hill’s knowledge of the Toril World, it was impossible not to have corrupted Great Nobility, so potentially replaced by demons or devils directly.
Otherwise, those demon followers, living in major cities or even within the capital, couldn’t possibly hide so well under the temples’ noses.
Hill understood this, as did the Grand Temples.
Though, at least, it was better than finding nothing in the past.
Actually, for Coron, this was also sowhat beneficial.
At least until the Supre Forest recovered, he could find a lot for the Undead Tribe to do.
Those demon followers, whose appearances beca bizarre due to different magical transformations, intrigued many from the Undead Tribe.
The two different paths of grand navigation and striking the peculiar exhausted much of the Undead Tribe’s energy, who never stops moving.
The only problem was that Hill could only stay within his territory and couldn’t go anywhere.
Thus, to keep Purwell, who needed to go for daily strolls, from leaving the Sword Gulf, Hill buried himself in creating replicas of the Puzzle Lock.
Fortunately, he possessed ample top-tier Water Elent resources; though this Magical Curio had a singular function, it demanded extrely high material purity.
The most basic Deep Sea Crystal alone required over 20 kilograms. This was the finest of transparent crystals, only mineable from 3000 ters undersea, a high-level Water Elent material.
This startled Hill when he completed the design blueprint.
Fortunately, the needed materials ca from the deep sea, sparing him the trouble of purchasing them; otherwise, in a place like Toril, buying offshore resources would prove difficult even with money.
In a world with such complete species diversity, the danger level was just a bit high.
When Hill finally completed his Puzzle Lock supplentary tool, a month and a half had already passed.
The battle between Coron and Dimogogan, known to both sides, is still ongoing. The Double-headed Baboon is indeed ruthless, having dispatched all the demon followers across the Ferun Great Land.
In so sense, he is testing the abilities of the Undead Tribe while also weakening his rivals in the Abyss.
Even if those High-level Demons are not affected, the subordinates they can utilize are essentially dood.
The High-level Devils are better off. Even though so of their subordinates might die, with the cunning nature of devils, they typically won’t place their subordinates within their own sphere of influence.
Demons are different. No matter how cunning they are, they remain chaotic and act more on impulse. Unless they are loners, other High-level Demons will still arrange for so subordinates to assist within their sphere of influence.
The more thorough the cleanup by the Grand Temples, the more suspicious certain individuals beco. Even if they can maintain their identity with powerful strength or rare Magical Curios, the attention they draw prevents them from plotting any sches in the short term.
The outco depends on whether the righteous side persists longer or the evil side endures until rebirth.
As for the pirates on the Colin Archipelago at the edge of the Moonshadow Archipelago, their fate is rather tragic.
The Undead Tribe ensures nothing is left behind, not even sparing Mingtan Island, which often colludes with the pirates. Yet the Supre Queen Alicia Kendrick of the Moonshadow Archipelago remains silent, showing no dissatisfaction towards these strange elves who storm her territory to strike the evil pirates.
The demon-born elves living on the semi-abandoned Flamsted Island have completely sealed off their island, and those who once shouted to kill all Moon Elves have not shown their faces even once.
It seems these two wars have reached their conclusion, yet Hill knows this is only the calm before the storm. Many things on the Ferun Great Land have already deviated completely from his mories.
At least the neighboring Deepwater City is unlikely to be conquered by pirates and turned into ruins in another ten years.
Hill doesn’t think there will be such fierce pirates near Sword Bay anymore.
And such a Deepwater City can hardly fall into the hands of Kelben’s son. It would be fortunate for him to inherit his father’s position and beco the Mage Lord.
However, his two sons might indeed beco the new Chosen of the Goddess of Magic.
Midnight must die twice or thrice at least!
Who knows what will happen, or what unlucky soul will get caught up and sacrifice bravely for the resurrection of this goddess.
Hill held a lifelike Crystal Flower and gently placed it in the fountain of the rooftop garden.
The Crystal Flower slowly unfolded its branches and leaves, appearing exceptionally crystalline and translucent under the moonlight.
Then, a faint mist emanated from its orchid-like petals, rising higher and higher, dispersing at the highest point and rging into the ubiquitous mist of Agleya City.
After the eruption, the Crystal Flower gradually disappeared in the water, and besides Hill, probably only Agleya could spot its figure in the water.
From now on, every three days, the power of the Puzzle Lock will be automatically replenished.
Hill nodded in satisfaction.
Although he won’t leave Toril for a while, as there’s much for him to learn here.
However, to learn, Hill cannot stay in Agleya alone.
He still wishes to visit several places before Mystra’s fall.
With this Crystal Flower, he no longer needs to stay here to guard the Puzzle Lock. Hill joyfully returns to his study, now able to focus all his energy on searching for Chil.
This cunning Demon Servant continually changes his location, but the areas near Agleya City where he can hide are limited.
After a month and a half, even without a pattern, Hill has caught a clue.
Hill looked towards the port; the mariti expedition to the Moonshadow Archipelago had ended, and his side should find the mastermind behind it!
With Coron’s consent, Hill decided to end this long-standing secret war.
The ti-space distortion near the Supre Forest, close to the Star Mountain Range, has almost stabilized, allowing the Undead Tribe to plant flowers and trees there to relieve the fatigue from prolonged battles.
When the Puzzle Lock again transford into a red fla guiding the Undead Tribe’s direction, Hill turned his gaze to a small hill at the easternmost point of the Sword Mountain Range.
Hill flew in mid-air, waving the Crystal Fan, sending a Crystal Longsword shooting forth.
The small hill exploded violently with thundering roars, and black evil light soared into the sky.
Finally caught it.
Watching the Undead Tribe, who had already turned towards it, Hill smiled; it’s finally over.
