89: Chapter 80 The Call at Sea Cautious Fran 89: Chapter 80 The Call at Sea Cautious Fran Seeing Srei looking as if he had sothing to say, Hill was sowhat surprised, “What happened?”
“Count Pelast has been seriously injured by a magical beast attack.” Srei quickly answered, “List asked if you plan to go there directly or return to the Magic Tower first?”
Hill reluctantly tugged at the corner of his mouth, stood up, and walked over to sit down in front of the couch, “Just tell him to connect Uncle Adrian as well.”
“Right away, sir.” Srei quickly got in touch with Adrian together with List.
“Hill, what’s going on?” Adrian asked puzzledly from the other end.
“Is Spencer in the city where he’s stationed?” Hill started.
“What do you need him for?
He doesn’t know anything about the Earl’s situation.”
Fran interrupted him, “Adrian, don’t you ever use your brain?”
“What’s the trouble, Hill?”
“After I arrived in Cortez, I went to their Border City Naranhart’s Mage Association
Two apprentices guarding the door thought I was a mage from Haifasardo and spoke to with scorn and condescension.
They even had an aristocratic castle’s circular audience hall and told to go to the left to register with that dismissive tone.
I was very angry.
After dealing with those two apprentices, their branch leader Kronos ca out and hypocritically pleaded for my forgiveness in a contrived manner.
Outraged, I took a few mages from Haifasardo outside, intending to send them to Saral.”
Fran asserted, “You discovered sothing wrong with those mages?”
“Yes, a female mage from the Cassel family with several mage servants, for so reason,
inford with nothing but lies.
I sensed sothing was off but didn’t dare to take them to William; it would be best if Spencer could take over.”
“The Cassel family?” Fran pondered, “It might be related to the Royal Family of Haifasardo.
Is that female mage about my age?”
Hill blankly said, “She claid she’s Count Cassel’s cousin.
But, of course, she was lying to .”
Isn’t she over 50?
Hill was a little stunned; if Fran spoke like this about a lady, it indicated she was older than him.
“You an the forr Count Cassel’s cousin!” Adrian suddenly mocked, “She’s quite a celebrity.
Not inferior to Helen.”
Hill felt a surge of trepidation, “You’re kidding, right?
She tried to seduce ?”
“Isn’t that quite normal, given that the n around her are pretty handso.” Adrian chuckled, “If she could reel you in, what would she have to fear?”
“Isn’t she afraid of her grandfather?” Hill was curious.
“As long as you are a foolish child smitten with love,” Fran coldly said, “After all, everyone in the world of mages knows about lanie.”
“She said she’s Count Cassel’s sister?” Adrian burst into laughter, “Hahahaha.
How old does she look now?”
“Upon a closer look, she appears to be 30, but at a glance, 25 or 26.”
“Well-maintained indeed.” Adrian clucked his tongue appreciatively.
“She thought that I wouldn’t be bothered by such matters,” Fran said, “Especially since I built a Magic Tower near you and didn’t have Adrian take you as a student.
Hmph.
She probably figured our communication wouldn’t be so fast and by the ti I found out, it would be too late.
But with a mother like lanie, people would always suspect you might be emotional.”
“However, would that woman dare to attempt seduction after seeing Hill’s face?” Adrian was very surprised, “That’s even more beautiful than lanie’s face.”
Hill said helplessly, “Don’t talk nonsense, Uncle Adrian.”
“You’re just accustod to your own reflection.” Adrian countered, “After your Elven bloodline was activated, your face beca even more delicate, and you’ve taken on an air of innocent naivety.”
Hill believed he was still quite handso, not just pretty.
“It’s just that your behavior is rather masculine.” Adrian said with a laugh, “It wouldn’t cause any misunderstandings.
But it does attract won like those from the Cassel family.
To seduce an innocent young boy, to slowly lt his heart with love, and to tarnish his pure body.” Adrian could not continue and burst into loud laughter.
Fran couldn’t be bothered to stop him, “She probably didn’t expect you to see through her lies so easily.
You’re too young; elders usually wouldn’t ntion her to kids.
Her mage status is completely bought with money.
She’s gone from being a mistress to the forr King of Haifasardo to the current one, amassing resources no less than a legend’s.
With so many resources, she could have piled up to beco an Archmage, but she is still only a mage.
Both her character and talent are deplorable!
Yet, she’s indulged in countless good things and reportedly used mystical thods to prolong her life.”
“What mystical thods?” Hill was astonished.
“No one knows,” Fran said, “But it can’t be anything good.
The current King of Haifasardo even painfully banished her from the Capital because of it.
The Noble Temple couldn’t tolerate her either.
All the Temples have sealed the matter and it hasn’t been leaked.
It’s assud to be so magic only a mage could use.”
“So does Kronos of the Cortez branch want to get this secret from Cassel’s lips?”
“Impossible.” Adrian asserted, “Cassel managed to leave the Capital alive because she took a divine oath before all the Temples.
It was a major event that involved all of them.
If she dares to speak, she would drop dead on the spot.
Kronos wouldn’t dare to ask.
This kind of secret would be risked for leveling up in magehood, but not for less.”
Fran added, “Don’t speculate anymore.
Adrian, just go to Spencer and Hill, once you release them, leave.”
