The Union City, Kivotos.

A colossal academy city composed of thousands of political entities known as "Academies," their respective autonomous districts, and the D.U. district, which is under the direct jurisdiction of the General Student Council (GSC), the highest administrative body.

In the suburbs of the D.U., within the office building of the Federal Investigation Club, Schale.

As the newly appointed administrator of Schale, I was standing by the clubroom office window, observing the distance through a pair of binoculars.

Although our location was relatively remote, it wasn't too far from the three major academies. On the early morning streets, there were quite a few "people" passing by.

That is, if those intelligent lifeforms walking around in human clothing could be broadly defined as "people."

Little cats and dogs walking upright on their hind legs, along with robots of all shapes and sizes as these were the most common residents of Kivotos. However, their appearance struck as comical, absurd, and even terrifying.

The students of Kivotos, on the other hand, generally resembled the humans I rembered.

They weren't covered in fur, nor were they made of cold, hard steel. Setting aside so physical structures that a pure-blooded human would never possess, they were all beautiful, youthful young won.

However, the halos above their heads, the dog & cat ears, sharp horns, and wings... these features still made it impossible for to see them as my own kind.

They did not reject , and I could attempt normal communication with them. That was how I presently viewed most of the students who bore traits beyond the human form.

Perhaps if I tried harder, tried to think of those quirks as re accessories, I could alleviate the discomfort in my heart.

Or maybe, my future self could overco this subtle psychological barrier and casually see these traits as "moe" points.

After a long while, I lowered the binoculars, let out a heavy sigh, and once again sorrowfully accepted the reality that I had been transported to another world.

Yes, I am a transmigrator. Perhaps I should add a qualifier to that title.

An amnesiac transmigrator.

I don't know who I am or why I ca to this place. The only things I can rember are my na and so very basic common knowledge.

As for why I'm so sure I'm a transmigrator despite my amnesia?

That's a foolish question.

It's common knowledge that one's personality is built upon experience.

No matter how much I've forgotten, as long as my personality hasn't completely collapsed, the foundational mories supporting it are enough for to understand my current situation.

When everything around feels intensely out of place, yet my own logic and thought processes remain sound, it ans I must be in an environnt completely different from the one I once knew.

Transmigration is the only possibility.

At the sa ti, this body, which feels completely familiar to use and to see in the mirror, is likely proof that my original body was transported here, not just my soul.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I am, perhaps, the only pure human in this land filled with strange beings.

With an inexplicably heavy heart, I sat back down at my desk. In the last monts before work began, I tried to sort through my recent, brief experiences.

First, tracing back to the origin of my mory, there was a fragnted dream.

After waking up, the contents of the dream were quickly forgotten, leaving only a few cryptic phrases etched in my mind.

"...We thirst for the seven wailings."

"...We bear the koan of Jericho."

When I opened my eyes, I was already in an unfamiliar office. A girl who called herself the Chief Administrative Officer from the General Student Council provided with the initial information.

My identity was that of "Sensei," an invited adult to Kivotos.

Before I could gather any more information, several girls stord in, aggressively demanding to see the Student Council President.

Their physical characteristics extinguished any lingering hope in my heart.

The Chief Administrative Officer and the Vice President of the General Student Council, Nanagami Rin, had a pair of pointed ears like an elf from a fantasy novel, as well as a shimring blue halo that floated in mid-air, following her head's every movent.

When I first noticed these two anomalies, I tried to rationalize the forr by telling myself Rin must have had costic surgery. After all, her features were as flawless and exquisite as a fairy from a tale renowned for her beauty.

As for the latter, I just chalked it up to so kind of advanced technology.

But one was one thing. For four or five beauties of this caliber to appear at once, all possessing... what should I call them... extra traits?

This was definitely not the world that had ford the bedrock of my personality.

In that instant, I understood completely.

Either I was dreaming, or I had co to another world.

The events that followed left in a daze.

It was the result of having my worldview shattered.

Wait a second, how did these students get hit by so many bullets head-on without even a tear in their clothes? They just stumbled back a few steps, cried out in pain, and acted as if nothing had happened!

Since when was charging through a literal hail of bullets not even enough to cause a minor injury to a normal carbon-based lifeform?

All I can say is, as expected of students from another world. Truly, mysterious.

In any case, after reluctantly acting as their commander and experiencing several battles that completely defied everything I had ever been taught, the students and I pushed our way down into the Schale basent.

There, I encountered a student wearing a mask who fled in a panic upon seeing . When I noticed her fox ears and tail, I was no longer very surprised.

Rin, who arrived shortly after, found a tablet in the basent called the Shittim Chest, supposedly left for by the missing General Student Council President.

Using the words from my dream as the password, I successfully logged into the system and experienced the bizarre technology of consciousness transference.

With the help of the system's administrator, Arona, I successfully reclaid the administrative authority of the Sanctum Tower and transferred it to the General Student Council. Then, Rin explained Schale's authority and activities...

I was like a puppet on a string, passively accepting it all.

The overwhelming amount of complex information was a huge burden for my amnesiac mind. After sending off the students who ca to help, I decided to first try and process the docunts Rin had left behind.

And then, I was completely sunk.

I had absolutely no idea where to start. I an, I have amnesia, so it's excusable. But for the super A.I.-diot, Arona, to be just as clueless as ? She was completely useless as a secretary.

So, after explaining my lack of ability to Rin, I followed her suggestion and contacted one of the students I had t today to ask for help.

Luckily, that student happened to be free and was willing to be today's student on duty.

For the rest of the ti, with the help of the internet and Arona, I searched for and learned so basic information about Kivotos, becoming more and more certain that I was in another world.

Whether it was the social structure, the intelligent races, or the production capacity and level of technology, everything left dumbfounded.

As a pure human, I shouldn't have the sa incomprehensible defensive capabilities as the local intelligent lifeforms. If a bullet went through , I'd be at least seriously injured, right?

And in Kivotos, gunfights happened almost every day.

I felt a deep sorrow for such a harsh environnt.

Trapped in hell, with no one to rely on, and with amnesia on top of it all. What a tragic way to start.

It wasn't until late at night, clinging to the tiny hope that this was all just a dream and I would wake up back in my own reality, that I finally managed to fall into a difficult sleep on the luxurious bed in Schale's lounge.

The result was disappointing. My wish did not co true.

So, I could only accept my situation and strive to survive in this world teeming with strangeness and disaster.

Knock, knock~

A knock on the door. I subconsciously glanced at my tablet. It was exactly the appointed ti. I quickly raised my voice and said, "Co in."

The next mont, the student I had chosen to ask for help pushed the door open and entered.

"Good morning, Sensei."

"Yes, good morning, Hayase-san."

Hayase Yuuka, from Millennium Science School.

She had a reassuring appearance.

I did my best to ignore the halo above her head and focused on her bright, purple eyes.

I sincerely hoped that in the days to co, I could get along well with this girl, who, among all the students I t yesterday, seed the most human.

"Sensei, you can just call Yuuka."

Yuuka averted her gaze slightly, her fair cheeks blushing faintly as she subconsciously twirled a strand of her hair. Then she walked closer and pulled up a chair, sitting down beside .

Her ponytail brushed against the tip of my nose, and I thought I could sll the scent of her shampoo.

It seed to be lemon-scented.

Just then, Yuuka pulled two docunts from the pile and handed one to .

"I'll handle this one as a demonstration, and you can follow my example with the other one. Watch carefully, okay? According to my calculations, we're on a pretty tight schedule. Feel free to ask anything you don't understand."

And so, under "Instructor" Yuuka's guidance, I spent the entire morning diligently learning how to process the docunts.
