Inside Ye Duo’s cave, the Half-beastman Warrior stared sorrowfully at the dark red stain on the ground.
That was his cub, gone before it was ever born.
The Half-beastman’s face was etched with grief. In stark contrast, Ye Duo, lying weakly in a nest of straw, wore a look of pure impatience.
"Can you clean this blood up? I’m exhausted and want to rest."
The Half-beastman’s body went rigid. He looked up at her in disbelief, but seeing her impatient glare, his heart suddenly grew calm.
He took the only Beast Skin in the cave, carefully scooped the bloodstained earth into it, gave Ye Duo one last look, and walked out.
Watching his retreating back, Ye Duo curled her lip dismissively. ’He’s just a Half-beastman. Maybe I would have cared before, but now I’m the tribe’s Witch Disciple. I have Beastman Warriors fawning all over . Why would I give a second thought to a Half-beastman Warrior like him?’
anwhile, the Snow Tiger Tribe Leader felt a headache coming on as he faced the Lion Tribe Leader sitting opposite him.
He cursed Ye Duo inwardly. ’That troublemaker! Is it impossible for her to go one day without causing problems?’
"Regarding this matter, Tiger, you just need to go ask that Half-beastman and you’ll know. If your tribe’s Witch Disciple didn’t want to mate with the Half-beastman Warrior, then she should have controlled herself.
Don’t let sothing happen and then bla it on our tribe’s Beastman Warriors."
The Snow Tiger Tribe Leader’s eyes were dark and unreadable. "I will need to question Ye Duo and the Half-beastman Warrior about this. As for whether what you say is true, I will find out for myself."
The Lion Tribe Leader stood up. "Then I’ll be waiting for your news, Tiger."
With that, he left with the tribesn behind him.
Only after the Lion Tribe Beastn were far in the distance did the Snow Tiger Tribe Leader rise to his feet, his face livid with anger.
"Ye Duo, oh, Ye Duo," he grumbled, "you really know how to make trouble for ."
Muttering angrily, he stomped off toward Ye Duo’s cave.
After listening to Ye Duo’s sob story, he found the Half-beastman Warrior and finally learned the truth of the matter from him.
The thought that his tribe’s future witch could have such a venomous personality made his skin crawl.
He imdiately turned and headed for the witch’s cave. This was sothing the witch had to know.
anwhile, Ye Duo, sleeping soundly in her cave, had no idea that her reputation in the eyes of the tribe’s two great leaders had just hit a new low.
At the tribe’s entrance, mbers of the Lion Tribe, Black Wolf Tribe, and Flying Eagle Tribe were bidding farewell to the Snow Tiger Tribe. The ceremony was over, and it was ti for them to return ho. The difficult annual rainy season was fast approaching, and they had to go back to prepare.
"Tiger, is your tribe still not planning to migrate to higher ground for the rainy season this year?" asked the Lion Tribe Leader.
The Snow Tiger Tribe Leader shook his head with a bitter smile. "It might be manageable for a small tribe, but where could Great Tribes like ours possibly migrate to? If we leave our caves and are constantly exposed to the rain, the young cubs and elderly Beastn will get sick and die."
A peculiar glint flashed through the Flying Eagle Tribe Leader’s deep, hawk-like eyes. "If you need help, you can send soone to find us."
The Black Wolf Tribe Leader and the Lion Tribe Leader both nodded in agreent.
Unlike the Snow Tiger Tribe’s territory, the Beastn of the Flying Eagle Tribe all lived on high cliffs, so naturally, they did not fear the floodwaters of the rainy season.
