At that mont, the Single-horned Wolf Fierce Beast pack, right in the heat of their attack, suddenly felt a deeply ominous premonition.
The alpha wolf let out a confused howl, its massive rear end tensing up.
’For so reason, I just feel... flustered.’
"ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!" A series of roars from the Snow Tiger Beastn rang out ahead of the Single-horned Wolf pack, each one louder than the last.
The Single-horned Wolf leader almost laughed. ’What kind of idiots are these? I was just trying to figure out where they were, and they just went and gave themselves away.’
"AWOOOO!" he let out a long howl.
’Get ’em, boys! There’s a big reward for every Beastman you catch!’
AWOOO! ’I call the thighs! The at is firr.’
GRRR! ’I’ll take the upper body! I love chewing on the neck, and the paws aren’t bad either.’
The Single-horned Wolf pack grew excited, drool dripping from their jaws as they chased after the fleeing Snow Tiger Beastn.
But surprises have a way of appearing when you least expect them.
Just as they were howling in anticipation, about to pounce on their dream al, a huge troop of terrifying giant apes appeared up ahead.
Seeing the familiar figures and slling the familiar scent, the Single-horned Wolves slamd on the brakes in perfect unison.
Those whose foot-brakes failed them even resorted to skidding to a halt on their butts.
Then, after a mont of stunned silence, they tucked their tails between their legs and scrambled back the way they ca, yelping in terror.
YELP! YELP! YELP~
AWOOOO~
’Boss, run! That troop of Shun Yuan up ahead is terrifying!’
’Their glowing green eyes are scaring this wolf to death!’
The alpha wolf had been preparing to leap from a stone platform in his most magnificent pose to join his underlings. But when he heard the pack’s terrified cries, he shuddered, let out a yelp, and bolted in the opposite direction.
"YELP! YELP! ’Follow , pups! Run for it!’"
A dozen or so male Beastn compared to a pack of several dozen Single-horned Wolves...
The Shun Yuan might not know how to count, but they could certainly recognize a larger group.
That thundering pack of Single-horned Wolves... catching them would an they could have lots of cubs.
They decisively abandoned the smaller group of Beastn and, roaring with excitent, took off after the wolf pack.
With the Shun Yuan present—and more than one of them at that—the forest fell utterly silent. Not even the cry of a male bird could be heard.
The corners of Yuan Lang’s lips curved up slightly. "Bring them along. Let’s get back to the cave, quickly."
Wu Yue and the others didn’t rest any longer, sitting and waiting inside the cave instead.
The commotion in the forest had suddenly vanished after a series of tremors, filling everyone’s hearts with unease and worry.
"ROAR!" The roar of a Snow Tiger Beastman sounded from not far outside the cave. It wasn’t loud, but it was enough for the tribe mbers inside to hear.
A look of joy appeared on the faces of Teng Qian and the others. "Yuan Lang and his group are back."
Wu Yue also stood up, wrapped in a Beast Skin, and followed the other Beastn outside.
Sure enough, Yuan Lang’s group was approaching in the distance, cloaked by the night. However, they were accompanied by a dozen or so unfamiliar Beastn.
Wu Yue knew these must be the Beastn from the Flying Eagle Tribe they had ntioned earlier.
"Did anything happen here?" Yuan Lang asked, walking directly to Wu Yue’s side.
She was a little confused. ’Why didn’t he ask Teng Qian? Why co to instead?’
’But then I rembered that I’d revealed my identity as a witch, so I guess it’s not that strange.’
She nodded with a light smile. "Nothing happened here. But you all look a little worse for wear. Are you injured?"
The trace of concern in the young female’s voice made Yuan Lang’s mood brighten considerably.
"Our people are fine. The ones who are injured are from the Flying Eagle Tribe."
Hearing this, Wu Yue turned to look at the unfamiliar Beastn resting in the clearing before the cave.
