The cave fell silent a mont after she finished speaking.
Just as she was wondering what was going on, the Beastman beside her suddenly burst out laughing. Wu Yue glared at him, displeased. "What’s so funny?"
Yuan Lang’s deep eyes crinkled with mirth. It was the first ti Wu Yue had ever seen the Beastman laugh so heartily, and for a mont, she was stunned.
Being stared at by her slightly displeased eyes, Yuan Lang felt a warmth spread from his heart, making his entire body flush with heat.
He tightened his arm around her again and leaned close to her ear, his low, magnetic voice laced with amusent. "Those two big rats you saw were actually big tigers."
Wu Yue: "..."
’So, this hole is actually that deep?’
"Hold on tight. We’re going down now," Yuan Lang said, tightening his grip on Wu Yue’s arm.
At the thought of a hole deep enough to make tigers look like rats, Wu Yue instantly wrapped her arms around the Beastman’s neck. "Be careful."
Yuan Lang chuckled. "I’ll take that to an you’re worried about ."
Wu Yue gave a hollow laugh. "Of course... Of course..."
’Could she really admit that, at a ti like this, she was actually worried about herself?’
’I’m not that foolish!’
"Why are you all here? Is this for a tribe mission?"
The mont Wu Yue finished speaking, she saw the Beastman’s firm jaw tremble.
’Does he have so secret he can’t talk about?’
She was about to change the subject when she heard the Beastman say with utter disdain, "We were originally coming after you, but when we got here, that idiot Teng Qian chased after a lone Fierce Beast and ended up attracting a whole pack.
That idiot claid this hole wasn’t deep. Plus, after he went in, we couldn’t even sll his scent.
So we decided to go in to hide. But who knew..."
He seed to recall sothing and had to take two deep breaths before continuing. "Who knew that idiot was standing on a jutting rock.
After Teng Kun and I jumped down, the rock couldn’t support the weight of the three of us and gave way."
Wu Yue fought to hold back her laughter as she looked up at the Beastman’s face. "So, you... PFFT... you an Teng Qian really dug you into a hole? Hahaha!"
With that, she finally couldn’t hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.
The pit was already deep and wide, and it amplified their voices several tis over. Down at the bottom, the other two Beastn heard every word of their conversation.
Seeing the resentful glare from his older brother, Teng Kun was absolutely delighted.
’Yue was right. His brother’s knack for getting them into trouble was a far deeper pit than the one they’d fallen into.
At least this pit had a bottom. His brother, on the other hand, was a bottomless one.’
Yuan Lang’s movents were incredibly practiced; clearly, this wasn’t his first ti climbing this pit’s walls.
"Is there no other way out of this pit?"
Wu Yue asked, looking at Yuan Lang.
The Beastman frowned and shook his head. "We’ve searched every nook and cranny of this cave, but there isn’t a single exit."
A while later, the two of them finally made it down the wall. They looked up and saw two... big tigers... sitting on the ground.
"Yue, take a good look at this handso tiger face of mine. Tell , which part of it looks like a rat?"
Wu Yue laughed awkwardly. "It was probably because we were so high up that I couldn’t see clearly. I never would have guessed it was you two."
The resentful Teng Qian shifted back into his Beastman form and sat cross-legged on the ground. He then picked up sothing that looked like a Stone Crystal and tossed it at Wu Yue. "Take that!"
