It seed his sharp claws would be disappointed. After the rumbling faded into the distance, the sod covering the cave entrance only shifted slightly, and all fell quiet above once more.
Back down in the cave, the other Beastn crowded around him. "Yuan Lang, what was that sound?"
Wu Yue stared up at him, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Yuan Lang explained, "Sohow, the Black Wolf Tribe’s Beastman Warriors managed to provoke a ferocious rat pack. Now they’re being chased."
Hearing this, the other Beastn snickered. "Those Fierce Beast rats might not be fast, but their numbers are overwhelming. I wonder how they managed to get on the wrong side of those pesky things."
A ferocious rat pack!!!
Wu Yue turned to Yuan Lang, her eyes sparkling. "Are they all white and fluffy?"
The corner of Yuan Lang’s mouth twitched. "They’re gray. The more powerful the Fierce Beast rat, the darker its fur. The leader is probably black."
"Their fur is coarse enough to prick your fingers, and they have the sa scarlet eyes as other Fierce Beasts."
Wu Yue’s expression froze. ’So, cute little creatures like Shuye really are a rarity, huh?’
Later that night, it began to rain again. Perhaps because the cave was high on a slope, no water trickled in, but the temperature inside still dropped considerably.
Wu Yue divided the Beast Skins she had brought with her, spreading so on the ground and using the rest as a blanket.
But the Beast Skins were too small. Every ti she turned over in her sleep, they would slip off.
Waking from the cold, Wu Yue would retrieve the Beast Skin, cover herself, and drift back to sleep.
This went on for a while. Wu Yue had to get up every so often to pick up the Beast Skin, and her sleep was restless.
This continued until Yuan Lang returned from his patrol, bringing a chill with him from the outside air.
He had planned to stand for a mont to let the chill dissipate before resting, but when he saw the young female repeatedly getting up to retrieve her Beast Skin, his dark brows furrowed instantly.
He padded softly to Wu Yue’s side, and by the ti he crouched down, he had already transford into a giant, snow-white tiger.
Exposing his soft belly, he retracted his sharp claws and carefully used a snowy-white paw to nudge the curled-up young female into his embrace.
Perhaps sensing his warmth, Wu Yue instinctively rolled into his embrace, hugging one of his forelegs tightly before falling into a sweet, deep sleep.
Yuan Lang was about to reach out a paw to pull the Beast Skin over her from behind, but the young female in his arms suddenly shifted her pale, slender legs.
His tiger form went rigid, and the fluffy tail that had been swaying lazily just a mont before instantly froze stiff.
’Poor Hu Zi,’ he thought, suddenly reminded of the eunuchs with their high-pitched voices bustling through the palace in his past life.
The big white tiger gently scooted his rump backward, finally feeling the young female’s chilly little feet against him.
But before he could even sigh in relief, her feet, as if sensing the retreat of their heat source, stretched forward once more.
Panic seized the Beastman!
Yuan Lang felt a searing heat rush to his head, his entire body growing feverishly hot.
’As a handso young General who commanded a great army, there was certainly no shortage of won being offered to him, or those who sched to enter the General Mansion.’
