The Black Wolf Witch raised his hand, retrieving the tortoise shell from midair. His brow was deeply furrowed.
’Could my divination be wrong?’
Among the witches of the Four Great Tribes, his divination was the most accurate. The Snow Tiger Tribe’s witch had the most powerful rituals, the Lion Tribe’s witch had the best Healing Witchcraft, and the Flying Eagle Tribe’s witch was skilled in poisonous witchcraft.
That was why the Black Wolf Witch had absolute faith in the results of his divination.
"Arrange for two teams of tribesn to patrol here daily. If you discover anything unusual, return to the tribe and report to at once."
Seeing the witch’s solemn expression, the Black Wolf Tribe Leader dropped his jovial deanor and agreed with the utmost seriousness.
Their conversation, however, was carried into the ears of every Snow Tiger Tribe mber inside the cavern, which acted as a natural amplifier.
Wu Yue could hear the frantic beating of Yuan Lang’s heart as he held her.
She rose slightly onto her tiptoes and whispered in the beastman’s ear, "Don’t be nervous. We won’t be discovered."
The Black Wolf Tribe Leader’s strength was comparable to Uncle Yuan Qi’s. After she had fallen into this sinkhole, Uncle Yuan Qi and the others had searched for a very long ti without finding her, which just went to show how well-hidden it was.
Hearing this, a dark glint flashed in the beastman’s eyes. "The Black Wolf Witch’s divinations are the most accurate in the Polar Forest."
Wu Yue frowned. "But he didn’t say what the divination revealed."
The footsteps from above the cavern faded into the distance. The surrounding Beastn were about to relax, but a single look from Yuan Lang froze them in place.
Just as Wu Yue was about to drift off to sleep, a flurry of hurried footsteps echoed from above once more.
"It seems the divination was flawed this ti."
The Black Wolf Witch scanned the surrounding forest one last ti before finally leading his tribesn away.
A few monts later, Yuan Lang released his arms from around Wu Yue and addressed the tribesn. "The Black Wolf Witch’s divination is incredibly potent. Even though he didn’t find this cavern, we cannot let our guard down. We must remain vigilant."
Wu Yue, standing to the side, looked at Yuan Lang. "Looks like we’ll have to cut back on roasted at from now on."
Lighting a fire to roast at would inevitably release smoke, which was why they always did it at night.
But with the Black Wolf Tribe mbers on patrol, the sll of burning wood would surely be detected.
’Looks like it’s ti to break out the cured at we prepared...’
’Cured at and vegetable buns. That’s what my als will be from now on.’
The day’s events had been truly perilous, and the Beastn’s fleeting sense of relief vanished, replaced by a renewed tension.
Before, they could still go out to hunt for fresh ga, but now they were forced to rely on their stores.
The Beastman Warriors’ faces turned grim at the thought of the at they used to eat from the Storage Cave during tis of scarcity.
While not completely rotten, it already gave off a foul odor. For Beastman Warriors with their sensitive noses, such a powerful stench was nothing short of a catastrophe.
When Wu Yue called them to help move the cured at, the Beastman Warriors actually went and pestered a few Salt Crystal Beasts that had woken up to forage. They plucked out handfuls of the creatures’ deep blue fur and used it to plug their noses.
Wu Yue stared at the bizarre sight of the Beastman Warriors behind her, feeling like they were pushing the very limits of her sense of aesthetics.
"I probably shouldn’t say this, but...
...you guys look like you’ve sprouted long, blue nose hairs. Just one look at you is enough to make lose my appetite."
The Beastman Warriors, who had just been feeling rather novel about their solution, all fell silent. "..."
’Blue nose hairs... growing out of our nostrils...’ They glanced at each other.
