Instantly, waves of hissing echoed throughout the cave as hideous insects revealed themselves one after another.
The Flying Eagle Tribe Leader’s eyes went bloodshot as he stared at the eagle egg that had instantly turned black.
These damned Poisonous Insects had completely enveloped the eagle egg, leaving not a single gap. They would swarm and drain any trace of life. How could a young cub possibly hatch from that?
Following Wu Yue’s instructions, the Half beastman Warriors sprayed down the entire cave. Only after ensuring not a single Poisonous Insect remained did they set down their stone pots and leave.

Yuan Lang tossed the leaves in his hand onto the pile of Poisonous Insects before turning to the Snow Tiger Witch. "Witch, these Poisonous Insects might already be in our tribe."
The Snow Tiger Witch nodded, their expression grim. "I suspected as much, right after you brought back those two insect carcasses from outside."
"These Poisonous Insects don’t drain the Life Force of adult Beastman Warriors. We can surmise, then, that they must prefer cubs or even unborn ones."
Wu Yue let out a breath and continued, "So, if these insects were to get out, the first to have their Life Force drained would be our tribe’s cubs and pregnant females."
The expressions of the few people in the cave were beyond grim.
’What kind of vile bastards are these? Why do they only prey on the young?!’
The Snow Tiger Witch turned and pulled a large handful of chili peppers from a corner of the cave, then tossed them all to Wu Yue and Yuan Lang. "Yue, you and Yuan Lang will be in charge of patrolling the tribe. If you find any place with Poisonous Insects, you must clean it up imdiately."
Then, the witch looked at the Snow Tiger Tribe Leader, who was still sitting ramrod straight behind them. "What are you still sitting there for? Go help."
The Snow Tiger Tribe Leader clearly saw the disdain in the witch’s eyes. He could only sigh under his breath and climb to his feet.
He led the two youngsters out to get to work.
Yuan Lang took the chili peppers from Wu Yue, sticking close to her side. As they walked, his large hand would even brush against hers from ti to ti.
Feeling her hand being brushed again and again, Wu Yue narrowed her eyes, giving the Beastman beside her a suspicious look. "Why are you touching my hand?"
Yuan Lang turned, his expression the picture of innocence. "Huh? What did you say?"

The instant his large hand brushed against the back of hers again, Wu Yue shot her hand out and grabbed the Beastman’s warm, large palm with its well-defined knuckles.
With a triumphant ’I caught you!’ expression, she was just about to speak when, to her surprise, the Beastman stared at her in utter shock. "Yue, why are you grabbing my hand?"
And he asked in a loud voice, too...
Wu Yue: "..."

But when she saw the looks on the faces of the surrounding tribe mbers—looks that clearly said, ’So you’ve been lusting after the Yuanlang Warrior for a long ti’—Wu Yue was so exasperated she could have coughed up blood.

The Beastman looked utterly innocent, and if one looked closely, there was even a hint of grievance in his eyes. "But didn’t you say those insects might co after too, and that I should stay closer to you?"
